just concluded a Western Med cruise on Silver Dawn and we had a wonderful time! Silversea Air flights on ITA (had to learn to pronounce this as "eeta") were excellent in BizClass, Bernina hotel in Rome was also very good. On board, our butler was a pleasure & kept up with everything we requested, enjoyed all meals we took on board, thought the Motown show was fun. Comments in the various threads here had me nervous. We booked door to door and were so well taken care 0f - there was even a Silversea rep at the Rome airport to direct us to where to start the boarding process when our driver dropped us off.
In our case, Silversea was just what we needed for a great 1-week getaway.

My Bertie just won't head the warnings!
Love this picture and TTS' pictures. Can't wait to pick up our pets tomorrow...
Just off the Silver Dawn on a 7 day Mediterranean cruise. Loved it. Good food, service and entertainment was really pretty decent.
Got a weak spot for Italian red wine, Italian people, and Italian food. Florence, however, seemed overwhelmed with tourists on our excursion there and I've no interest in returning.
France more complex, The French did not appreciate my grasp of their language, in spite of years of (required) study, not very Nice after all! Sete was good, enjoyed visiting the vineyards there.
ITA is a fine airline; in fact the business class lunch on our return flight was really delicious.
Too tired to add a photo but may do so tomorrow.

I had a recurring work assignment in Malaysia for several months each over several years.
Learned a lot, and almost got used to the HHH.
Of course, starting from Richmond helped with that.
My guess is Myster is doing the same thing!

Had to look up cozido stew - it sounds delicious! Wondering if there is a poultry version...

No rose, no Macon, no Italian white, no french white, no Cab, no California chard except Neilson, or Chilean Morande, no Pouilly Fume. And no restock
Lois, I almost hesitate to ask, but is Tiki sauvignon blanc available? (you can accurately say you are asking for a friend)
And Silversea, if you're listening, I've been reading many complaints lately (Kaisecki a wrecki etc), but this may represent a bridge too far. Please rectify for our beloved Spins. We will be watching this April on Dawn!

Our bit of lemonade without the sugar today, reached a difficult decision regarding our elderly dog Biscuit and had her put down. 15 years since we adopted her at the Richmond shelter. No data as to how old she was then. Blinded by some genetic condition, hobbled by arthritis, and mentally she just wasn't with us as anymore. The vet agreed, my wife agreed, so why do I feel like s**t?

daggone it Jazz! I also got an email today saying "sorry" but it ain't happening (well, folks in California don't say it like that) but I'm getting zero.
Substitutions were proposed so of course I said send them. And add a red or 2 while you're at it.
Save 1 of those six Jazz, so we can split it some day

17C at home, Lirio? That’s freezing!
That is kind of funny Lirio!
Of course not actually freezing. To invoke a local expression, that's "sweater weather" around here!

But my mom would have called it good sleeping weather, as she turned down the thermostat & had a last glass of chardonnay.

6 should be enough for a decent night QSS!
We might need a little help to pull that off, even with pretzels and cheese - if you're in the neighborhood, we'd be delighted to have you stop by!

No stress! Agreed it is subjective, but now our first glass comes with a story behind it - so thanks for that. Besides I held back and only ordered 6 😌

Auntsfield Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
OK Jazz, just ordered a half-case Auntsfield SB based on your rec which was endorsed by Dave in a chat at wine.com. Added a couple Aglianico reds from Italy to meet a coupon, & because I fell in love with Aglianico in Sorrento.

JP that sounds delicious! I read it aloud to my wife and she agrees. We've been baking halibut in various ways for dinner, this innovation sounds worth pursuing!

our dinner table companions were from a group on board of American morticians! They were great fun.
can't help myself - can you say more? - my dear Uncle Harold was a mortician, we had such fun in his basement while the grown-ups enjoyed their wine

My cruise is on the Silver Moon.
Then yes, you are correct. If I remember right, the same relaxed dress code holds at the Grill, Spaccanapoli, and of course room service is always available.
