Ridiculously long review of short cruise on Seashore 3/24-3/28/2024
aero777 replied to nattie's topic in MSC Cruises
@Two Wheels Only Here is a photo of the walk-in closet from Seashore cabin 19024: There are two wardrobe cabinets across from the closet door: Across from the sofa bed is an ottoman that turns into a bed: Hope this helps! -
Oops, you’re right Sunday! Flying out Saturday. Hope you and Mom have a great time!
-
Glad to hear! We’ll be boarding Saturday for our second Seashore cruise.

I have 19024 on an upcoming Seashore cruise, can you tell me if there’s a walk in closet ? Be glad to provide photos if you need them. Thanks! -
Assuming the Diamond meal a set menu, can you upgrade your steak at Butchers Cut?

Another Travel Insurance - Specially medical insurance

Ok I see what you’re saying, MJA kicks in if you’re merely admitted as opposed to the medically necessary or similar language of most policies. Good to know. Hope you are able to get back to traveling again soon! -

GC, do you still carry MedJet coverage even though you have medical evacuation through TIS? -
Filling it out prior makes it quicker through customs. Three days out I had difficulty getting it to accept online. It finally accepted after I re-took the passport photo. Took us less than 10 minutes to get through customs.

How was embarkation? I haven’t seen any details other than there is a shuttle bus involved. Thanks -
Even though we have a TA, I called 60 days out to book Marble for Valentines Day and had my choice of dining times. Also booked Sakura and Anthology and again had no problem getting the dates and times I wanted. Call took 5 to 10 minutes, super easy.

Has anyone on recent voyages been able to eat at Marble or Sakura without a reservation (ie walk up)?

Last month on Seascape we enjoyed The Botanist at several bars around the ship and there was never a charge. Fever Tree tonic on the other hand was only found in our mini fridge. -
Enjoyed your honest review! My wife and I each had two massages on the Seascape the week before yours. They were totally relaxing and the only convo was regarding the massage. At the end of the massage there was absolutely no annoying sales pitch to buy spa products like Norwegian does.

I’m guessing a cabana rental on an overnight itinerary doesn’t carryover to the second day, right?
-
We disembarked Seascape last Sunday and although the YC was full it wasn’t crowded at all. Plenty of loungers available all day, we even found cabanas available at 10 am. Food and service were great. Never had to wait to be seated with our favorite waiter Jeffery. Take insulated tumblers for drinks poolside as it’s still extremely hot. Our first MSC cruise and definitely not our last!

Donna let me tell you the YC area was fantastic. Definitely bring water shoes. We just got off Seascape last Sunday and had Ocean View cabana number 13 on the far end of the YC area. It was a short walk from the restaurant and had a beautiful view of the ocean plus Bimini Beach. Even if you don’t rent a cabana, Bimini Beach is not that far from the main YC beach and it doesn’t have the rocks in the water. But you still need water shoes as there are rather sharp crushed shells just as you enter the water. The Ocean House restaurant had excellent food and service. I was surprised to see the YC Maitre D Arthur there supervising the operation. He was definitely one of the hardest working crew members that we encountered. We liked the island so much we booked another cruise that overnights at Ocean Cay for December. This was our first MSC cruise and we were totally impressed compared to our Haven and Retreat experiences.

That’s great! What’s your strategy on a drink package, if you’re getting one?
-
What cabin type are you currently booked in, Aurea?
-
@Mark_T indicated you do get double points booking on board. Am I misunderstanding his response?

Fantastic review! I really like that you reviewed each dish instead of saying food is subjective. Also, I’ve never seen each bar reviewed. Nice touch. -
All this talk of nickel and diming I feel like I’m back on the NCL board!
