  1. My experience with Terminal 6 for cruise on Rhapsody Nov 26 - Dec 3-

We used Uber from hotel to port - I agree signage was lacking - we missed the turn and had to turn around at the next terminal. No problem with check - in (as Emerald) - we were on the ship in less than 30 minutes from arrival, boarding as soon as we checked in (maybe 2 or 3 parties ahead of us in line to check in - so we never needed to be seated).

Departure went very smoothly for us. We had tags #6. We arrived in the Broadway Theater around 8:30 for a projected departure time of 8:45. Our number was called shortly after we arrived; we took an elevator down to Deck 4, took a rather circuitous route through the dining room rather than straight through the centrum (crowd control I assume, though it was not crowded at that point in time), off the ship, grabbed a porter who found and loaded up our luggage and escorted us through customs and immigration, and then found us a taxi back to our hotel in Brandon. We were back at the hotel loading our car by 9:15.

  2.

In Labedee, we will not be doing an excursion, although we did the walking tour before and it was very interesting. In Curacao we will be taking an educational tour, same for Antigua. In Bonaire we have rented a golf cart, and I hope that we have the same success that everyone else has mentioned on these boards.

    :D

Looking forward to hearing from any and all of you and stay tuned for more:cool:

That should be interesting, as the ship will be going to Aruba.

    Looking forward to your reports!

  3. There is a return bus stop only a few yards from that place where we rented chairs. There are actually a couple of bus stops at Eagle (on the return to town side of the road) whereas they only stop at one location on the outbound route (the buses use real bus stops). There are also numerous van/taxis that come along that road and you can flag them down (they are popular with locals). And finally, there are usually some taxis around if one prefers to spend a few extra dollars for that from of transport. For those not aware, the main bus station (in town) is located right across the street from the port (walk out of the port to the main road and the bus station is on the other side of the street a few yards towards your right).

    Thanks!

  4. Upon reading your reply Am I to understand you went to the cable car yourself, not on a tour. How long is the trip from Amber Cove to teleferico? How long is the cable car ride? Thanks in advance.

We (two of us) arranged a private tour with a taxi driver at the port. It was maybe twenty minutes or so ride from Amber Cove to the teleferico. The cable car ride itself is probably 5-10 minutes each way. Amazing views!

  5. Yep. They added a whole deck of new cabins (junior suites, plus super duper grand deluxe suites, and a few interior). The "sun" deck is now one deck higher, on top of all those new suites. The mini-golf got crammed on the back of that new deck.

That will be a great place to be when the ship goes under the bridge!

  6. We stayed in U16 on the Fascination. This cabin was actually larger than a regular ocean view. We definitely had a little more room to move around. On the Fantasy class, main and upper are my preferences - that way you have people sleeping above and below you. :)

    (y) U16 on Fascination was my first experience in a Fantasy class porthole cabin and my favorite! I have also been on Main Deck and that was fine as well. I also like that there are passenger cabins above and below. Note that the grand suites are on Upper Deck so that level is considered a prime location.

  7. Posting the judges' scores from the first dances so that we can compare the order to the final results at the end of the season:

    Judges’ scores:

    • Jordan and Lindsay – 22 out of 30
    • Lindsey and Mark – 22
    • Vanessa and Maks – 21
    • Nikki & Artem – 20
    • Victoria and Val – 19
    • Frankie and Witney – 19
    • Nick and Peta – 18
    • Derek and Sharna – 18
    • Sasha and Gleb – 18
    • Debbie and Alan – 17
    • Drew and Emma – 16
    • Terrell and Cheryl – 15
    • Barbara and Keo – 14

It will be interesting to see how the elimination order compares, who improves, who gets fan votes to stay longer than expected.

  8. How much is the cable car fee? Do you know.

I believe it was $8 pp round trip. There was a "band" playing/singing in the area where you sit to wait for your turn to go up as well as a local "magician" doing tricks - you may want to have a few dollars handy for a tip if you enjoy their entertainment. Also there are guides available if you wish to avail yourself of their services and at least one gentleman who is excellent taking pictures with your camera of you in front of the statue - he suggests some very interesting poses - it was fun. Also there is a shop up there with some nice jewelry.

  9. John Heald has posted that the Grand Turk port is open and ready to receive guests.

    "Great news on Grand Turk

I just received confirmation that the port is open and ready to receive guests

Hurricane Irma's passing did impact parts of the island more than others, and many homes roofs were damaged substantially. We will be working with our team, community and government to assist with supplies, some arriving soon

... Please share this would you"
