Oh dear. We've got a massive trip planned starting on the QM2 30 April in NY, with weeks in the UK, a trip on the QV, and then back on QM2. We can't fly over so the entire thing will have to be canceled if they cancel M311.
As I recall the "always available " menu in QG has a very nice chicken. I don't think I have a photo of what is on this list, but there is a steak as well and I suspect a pasta?
Check to see if your state has an online site that lets you print out a vaccine record/certificate (can't remember precisely what this is called in our state).
Interested to hear feedback from those who have had aft staterooms since the winter dry dock repair - how is the vibration these days? We'll be aboard in May.
In the past we've been able to arrange storage via the purser's desk or concierge. The luggage gets taken off the ship and stored and then delivered to your stateroom for the return trip. Planning to do this later this year so hope it is still possible. Cost last time was I believe $65 per bag for up to 30 days.
Thank you sfred, that is good to know. My husband hates to leave his passport behind on the ship while we are on land, so I'm hoping we don't face that possibility!
Is it better to book a cab in advance to go from the ship at Southampton to the local airport (to pick up a car rental) or can we count on there being a sufficient number of taxis when we disembark?
Thanks!
Does Norwegian immigration board ships on fjords cruises to check passports, or are immigration formalities conducted on shore. Or is Norway one of those countries where Cunard collects passports before arrival and returns them at a later date? I guess there is a fourth possibility - no visible immigration process. Just curious as we'll be doing the fjords this summer.
Thanks!
Curious about how entry to Norway us handled on board. Are passports collected and held for a period of time or are they just stamped and returned? We never like to be in the position of going ashore without our passports in hand.
We had an arrival time of noon. It wasn't a great experience but it could have been much worse. There seem to be many opportunities for arbitrary decisions by terminal staff to create delays.
Our (too long) review of our trip on the QM2 last month has finally posted, you can find it here: http://click.email.cruisecritic.com/?qs=bf69395c270f821964ef86b163527de7e7e7923b1043c5e17cb820d0607cb93a71b2a71cd2f53afbd3dfa08dc39d47552203762365362137574539399454f822
Happy to answer any questions in this forum.
Home now and never did find the book on the shelf. However, if anyone reading this is the first to spot it in the QM2 library and posts a picture of it there, I'll happily send you your own copy. 😀
