  1. We went to Carisbrooke Castle 2 years ago, the first time since I was a child. We’re going back to the Isle of Wight the week after next and taking some of the family with us. My husband wouldn’t go to Blackgang Chine with no children so this time we’ll have our grandson with us 😊
  2. Thanks for that info, my parents are going to be in F726, so over towards the side that you were on. I’ve found a YouTube video of F726 so I’ve left a question for the poster, we’ll see if they respond.
  3. How loud was the noise from the Live Lounge on Britannia? We have booked F727 for a summer ‘25 cruise. I was hoping noise levels would be ok with a deck between us and the music 🥴
  4. I hope you track down your bag and have a wonderful trip
  5. Sorry only just seen this after I'd replied. I must have got the wrong person.
  6. Thank you. So are you planning on waiting until you're on dry land before taking them? It was a horrible sensation, and like you I was pretty ill with it some days.
  7. Thanks Jean. Is it Echinacea that you take before a cruise? I remember you saying ages ago that you take something to boost your immune system.
  8. Thank you. I think I'll have to get both sets of directions handy and see what the traffic is like on the day. The simplest route would be my first choice, I don't fancy starting the holiday stressing over how to get there.
  9. Oh thank you, it could well have been that. I'll jot it down and have a look in the shops.
  10. Thank you for that. Iona, Celebrity Silhouette and one other are due to be in that day too so it may be best for us to go further in and use dock gate 20.
  11. It is just less than 3 months until our Canaries cruise on Ventura, 89 days to be precise, not that I’m counting ☺️ I have a few questions that I’m hoping some of you might be able to help with: Does Ventura have a passenger choir on the 2 weeks cruises or is that just for transatlantic cruises with more sea days? We are sailing from Mayflower Cruise Terminal and on the morning will be driving in from Holiday Inn Express M27, junction 7. To get to that terminal do you drive into the docks from dock gate 10 and drive along through the docks, or do you drive further into Southampton and enter the docks closer to the terminal We’ve only ever sailed from Ocean Terminal before. It isn’t clear on google maps. We aren’t Peninsula Club members yet and have a standard balcony cabin so no ‘special lunch’ options, so other than the buffet, what eating options are likely to be available for a late lunch once we’re onboard? I didn’t suffer from any sea sickness at all on our week long cruise on Iona last year, however some of you may remember that I suffered badly from motion sickness for two weeks when I got home. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, do you have any tips to combat it? Lastly a question for @jeanlyon I remember ages ago you said that you took a supplement in the run up to a cruise to help prevent cruise cough and general illnesses, but I can’t remember what it was. If you see this, I’d be grateful if you could let me know please. My sister and I both got cruise coughs on board Iona last year, we both tested and it wasn’t covid, but I’d like to avoid getting a cruise cough this year so no one looks at me as if I might have covid 😷 I'm quite prone to coughs anyway. Thank you in advance.
  12. Absolutely 😄 Because we have to go in the school holidays it seems to still be cheaper to book early. Our Ventura one this summer is a lot more now than we paid near launch.
  13. Mum & Dad, sister, brother-in-law, my husband and I are all booked on Britannia B519, all of us got the cabins we were after. I have got an F deck wake view (not a suite) for me & my husband 😁 Only 826 days to go 🤣
  14. My son & daughters and I got the alert but my husband didn't and we're all on the same network, very strange. I don't know if any of you will remember that my dad got scammed out of a considerable sum of money in Tenerife in January? Well he was contacted by a journalist who was wanting to expose the scam problems there and dad is in the Daily Mail today, horrendous photo of him though 😏 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11998149/Souvenir-shop-scammers-ae-caught-camera-trying-UK-tourists-Tenerife.html
  15. I looked at prices yesterday and the Britannia one seems to be cheaper, but only slightly. We’re planning on going with my sister, brother-in-law and my parents and between the six of us we’ve decided to opt for the Britannia one as the itinerary appeals to us more. My husband impressed me, he agreed to the cruise without even asking the price 😂
  16. Oh goodness, those years have flown by haven't they! Our little lad had his first starter session at our school's nursery class today!
  17. Our Grandson will at school by then and our daughter works term times anyway, so we're very limited with dates as I provide their childcare 😏 Mum & Dad are going to the Med on Arvia this September, I think It's a slightly different itinerary though, I know they're going to La Spezia, Marseilles and Barcelona
  18. I have been looking at two Med cruises in August 2025: Britannia goes to Cadiz, Mallorca, Cagliari, Ibiza, Cartagena & Gibraltar. Arvia goes to La Caruna, Malaga, Alicante, Toulon, Barcelona & Cadiz. The only port we will have been to before then is Cadiz, we're going there this summer on Ventura. I think the Britannia itinerary is appealing to me more.
  19. I cant advise as to which one to chose, but as regards to whether the ships are likely to get into port, I know that Iona couldn't dock in Stavanger last Monday due to high winds, but apparently they called there on the last port day instead of Haugesund,
  20. We’ve also booked the Retreat for our August cruise on Ventura so I’m interested in seeing any replies.
  21. I just did a basic P&O summer 2025 search. I’ve jotted down the couple of itineraries I need incase it disappears soon 🥴 😁
  22. That's the advantage of being new to cruising, it's still new 😊
  23. A mix of Med; Norway; Northern Europe & Scandinavia; Spain, Portugal & Canaries; and a British Isles cruise
