  1. I’m about a week early then. The app let me do some things but not others. I could order our medallions and make dining reservations, but not choose an arrival group. Also could enter passport manually and sign Covid agreement, but not enter photos. Hopefully, that’ll all be resolved in a week or so.

How do they handle entertainment on the ship?  Skip spaces between groups or have to have reservations for shows?  I assume everyone wears masks for the shows since they are indoors.

I was on Equinox Jan 3. No regulations on entertainment, but often only had late showing. Masks were required but not at all enforced.

  3. We were on the Equinox Jan 3 just before you. We heard that the cruise before us had many sick people and debarked around 1:00pm. We had a 2-1/2/ hr boarding delay for “extra cleaning.” We were also moved to Pier 29 but no problem. We were on deck 6 forward but weren’t moved because we were in an Accessible cabin. We only saw staff on our level and all the doors were open with what appeared to be room service trays outside most of the week. Only 2 persons were sick. They left cloth masks for each of us in our cabin. I heard there were only 800 passengers on board and I believe it. It was like a ghost ship but very nice except for the entertainment which was lacking.

Thanks, everyone. Well, hopefully we won't have any snafus and will only need the one, two-pack kit that I have on order. There wouldn't be enough time to get a new kit delivered if one of the tests (or proctors!) is invalid. Will consider ordering another $69 spare kit, just in case.

    Happy cruising,

My snafu was my husband trying to be helpful opened the box and set up everything beforehand. Thankfully I bought an extra test!!!

Understand your predicament finding a last minute test.   I would have said do the Proctored Self Test but that is probably out of the question at this late date.    If you can't find one go to a paid clinic and expect to pay about $75-125 each.

I found that https://www.covidclinic.org/coral-spring  (just outside FLL)   has appointments available for 1/1 after 10AM.  Results in less than 1 hour.   Fort Lauderdale office doesn't have any until 7th January   Miami has some also

    Good luck

I have the proctored test and fingers crossed it will work for me. I found open Urgent Cares in my area, but they advised they may not have enough Fast tests to go around and "because of the holiday" results won't be ready until Monday. Large metropolitan areas may have better luck.

Not sure why you think there's a problem here. If you're boarding on Monday, get a rapid test on Sat. You'll know the results in less than 1 hour. Get on a plane on Sunday. Board your cruise on Monday. I've done three cruises since the revised two day testing prior to boarding and all three times I've flown a day before the cruise to the cruiseport. No problems with testing on any of the three cruises I've done the Rapid test two days prior.

Saturday is New Years Day. It’s not that easy when you’re traveling the day before.

  7. I probably have classic status. The 1st two cruises were cancelled, so this replaces them. I did some activity to get points toward status even though I hadn’t cruised yet. My husband didn’t. Thanks.

  8. I was looking at mine and it says “classic.” I assume that refers to the beverage package. My husbands, who is traveling with me, is blank. I purchased them together. Does that mean he doesn’t have it?

When the testing requirement began a few months ago, it seemed an "easy" hurdle to overcome.  Many of us (like me) live in areas that have many testing sites available.  All we had to do was go on-line and make an appointment for 2 days before the cruise.  For those who did not have these opportunities, the cruise lines gave us contact sites where we could buy a self-administered test and we would have it shipped to us within several days.  Not now.  It is very difficult to schedule a test where I live.  There are a few places where you can stand in line in the cold for a few hours, but not easy to do.  And now, with millions of people wanting to be tested, I am also seeing reports on CC of people who ordered the tests and find out that after a week, or more, the tests have not even been shipped.  Some people have gone to Florida a week early and can't find a testing opportunity.  Just like with the new CDC quarantine guidelines, things are rapidly changing.  Is the time coming when if we are fully vaxxed and boosted, we may not have to present a test (which may be highly inaccurate anyway)?  Or, will they start to test people at the pier, as they did at the beginning?  It would seem that something is going to have to change.

Would be so much easier to just pay for a test at the port if it was available.

  10. We’ve never been on Celebrity before and have a cruise planned on the Equinox. We are in a regular balcony cabin. We don’t plan to leave the ship during the day. What will our lunch options be? Is the MDL open for lunch?

  11. X requires(currently) a Covid test within 2 days. We sail on Monday and are traveling all day on Sunday. If I have the test on Saturday, will that suffice or do they want it on Sunday? We sail on Jan 3, so the holiday doesn’t help.
