No personal experience but I believe people have been able to have it adjusted at guest services once you are onboard.

Has anyone booked 2 rooms with the same person in both?
julig22 replied to cruisinforfun9's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I once booked 2 rooms but the intent was just to make the reservations and use my CNs to make deposits on both cabins. It worked but we also changed the names on the 2nd reservation as soon as the reservation was booked. I was told by my PCC that the system would eventually find the duplication and cancel one of the reservations. -
NCL Spirit Electrical Outlet Questions
julig22 replied to Rick&Jeannie's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Never seen an outlet behind the bed on any NCL ship I've been on - but also can't say I've always looked. Nor have I seen posts from people commenting on finding a hidden outlet. The bedside lamps are hardwired, not plugged in. So bring your extension cord... I think some people bring magnetic hooks and a really long cord so they can attach the cord to the ceiling. -
CFAR usually requires you to buy when you make your first deposit. Otherwise, yes you can usually wait.
-
You will most likely have a wait to board the bus but there will be someone from NCL to meet you and direct you to a waiting area - first because they will usually be using the same busses that they use to take passengers from the ship to the airport, those probably start arriving 8:30-9am. Second, they do not want people arriving at the port before the disembarking passengers have cleared the ship and the terminal - you might find yourself standing outside if you get to the port too early. My last cruise (different port) didn't start check-in until noon. As a solo traveler, I usually depend on the NCL transfers. I've used them often, they seem like the best option in most ports.
-
No, of course not. It's up to you to check and ask for a price adjustment, otherwise they will keep the price you originally agreed to pay. Some people are lucky enough to have a TA that tracks prices - or you can sign up on something like cruise plum. I just bookmark the price page for my cruises, takes seconds to see if the price has changed.

You missed the part about better terms. I believe the actual terminology on the literature I just saw said something to the effect that you have 4 years to sail. Nothing wrong with adding time, no terms of any contract are violated by eliminating expiration dates.
-
Same on the Dawn. NCL tends to use up old flyers, etc before printing new stuff, as long as any new offers are better. So until they use up their existing printed materials, the promo materials will say good for 4 years.

No, you can't book overlapping excursions but from what I recall they wouldn't normally overlap, as the excursion seems to usually start about the same time as all aboard. I've tried to take this excursion twice now, haven't made it yet. The first time it was cancelled just a few hours before we were to go, too much ice.
-
Had this issue last year and booked the excursion, eventually got notice from NCL that it wasn't available. So don't count on it. Normally there isn't a conflict with other excursions so consider booking both, you can easily cancel later. Why they post it as available, I can only speculate. I'm definitely not impressed with their land based excursion department.

Of course there aren't a lot of reduced supplement sailings now. Reduced solo supplements were/are a way for NCL to fill ships. The solo cabins are a way to try to keep solos booking cruises when ships are filling to capacity when there is no incentive for NCL to lower the supplements. Give it time, once the post-shutdown novelty wears off - or NCL oversaturates a market (like Alaska in 2023), reduced supplements will be more common. In the meantime, it's solo cabins unless you pick up a last minute deal.
-
Just a bit of info I got from CruiseNext regarding solo supplements. The new categories do not mean that they won't drop or reduce the solo supplements on "regular" cabins if they're trying to fill cabins closer to sail date.

Ok, I can't speak to how it all works, but here's what happened on my current 7day cruise. I did not log into the network until day 2, so no FAS minutes used. Offer was $179 for unlimited for the remainder of the cruise, less $100 credit. So $79 for 6 days. I don't think there is a latitudes discount when upgrading, only for buying a new package.
-
Booking months/years in advance is why I always have a CN in my account. Not gonna worry about any lost interest. If NCL cancels I'll probably get a 10% voucher. Not sure how nonrefundable airfare factors in if you're waiting until the last minute to book anyway. So I'm in the book now, watch prices/ promos and make adjustments along the way, make your final decisions when it's time to pay.

Does NCL book basic or regular economy flights?
julig22 replied to ed111's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Don't know about Tromso, I'm embarking from there in June so will be looking into it before I make my final payment and flight decisions. But yes, they have done charters to some locations. I know they've done charters from LAX to Papeete. So yes, they'd fly everyone to a central location, then disperse. They have 2 more legs to get you home, per their operating guidelines. -
Does NCL book basic or regular economy flights?
julig22 replied to ed111's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Baggage is completely dependent on the airline. Most major carriers include at least 1 bag for international flights. So it's more a matter of the airline, not necessarily the ticket designation. I've used NCL for quite a few overseas flights, never paid for checked luggage. But if you get booked on one of the barebones airlines, you may have to pay. It happens. -
Norwegian Cruise ship and itinerary cancellations
julig22 replied to 1412p0oi's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
As to who charters whole ships. Sometimes they are chartered by a company like Sixthman as a concert venue. An Asian travel company has chartered the Spirit for much of 2024, for their own cruise itineraries, plus there were rumors that it may also be used to house athletes for the summer olympics, specifically the surfing competition in French Polynesia. I suppose a large company could charter for a company retreat. Might be better than trying to find hotel accommodations for several thousand employees. -
Sapphire on 1st day of our third week in a b2b2b
julig22 replied to ready2cruzagain's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Not really. Saying you will have 150 pts on day 1 of your cruise doesn't mean you didn't reach 150 on the previous cruise, which was why clarification was necessary. -
Transatlantic advice
julig22 replied to MrsTabs's topic in Transatlantic, Transpacific, Repositioning & Trans-Ocean Cruises
Alaska to Japan, and vice-versa, is marketed as a Transpacific, FYI. But it would also be a repo cruise. -
Sapphire on 1st day of our third week in a b2b2b
julig22 replied to ready2cruzagain's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
day 1 of the 3rd cruise is the end of the 2nd cruise. So cruise 2 would be completed, points available. -

Yes, the CN desk can update your status after the end of each leg of your B2B2B. So if the first day of leg 3 is also the last day of day 2 and you have 150 points at the end of leg 2, you would have reached Sapphire. But you'll probably have to go to the CN desk to ask.
