In my experience, Jason (or an assistant) does read and reply to your emails.

It can carry more than 6,000 passengers but has just under 900 currently on board to allow for social-distancing measures. Must be spooky. 😀

How long before a ship sails does Regent usually send out the cruise info packet?

BTW, the WP has a limit of 1 free article. Just clear your browser cache and click the link again, if they ask you for money!

Turn8A - won't your Lisbon to Cape Town have to be canceled (unless South Africa changes it mind and allows cruise ships)?
We were hoping that South Africa’s tourism industry eyes September return was not a fantasy 😀 .
-
The Lisbon -> Cape Town cruise was certainly not overbooked😀. It had 213 cabins available (according to a favorite cabin availability site) or ~39% occupancy on 6/19, 2days after final payment was due.
-
Plus Cape Town to SA.
-
All Oct-Dec Voyager cruises are wait listed! Prelude to cancellation?
-
We too are booked on the Voyager Lisbon -> Cape Town cruise. Perhaps it will go! See South Africa’s tourism industry eyes September return. Payment is due Wednesday, but we are still undecided. I hate to plunk down $30k only to have to wait 90 days after the cruise is canceled to get it back.
We really have been looking forward to this cruise (our first Regent cruise and first cruise since the 90s with the kids). Currently, about half of the cabins are available, so social distancing should be doable!

If you've seen the since deleted Facebook posting of what may be an excel or other chart listing of start dates for NCL cruises (people are debating veracity and whether it's ship start up dates or pax start up dates, so who knows), Regent ships look like.
Explorer November 6, 2020
Mariner, January 5, 2021
Voyager November 14, 2020
Navigator, October 8, 2020
Splendor, December 7, 2020
Now who knows - maybe NCL dropped (and deleted) the original posting to ferret out leaks, maybe it's real, but not terribly hard to find. And, of course, even if it's 'real', events, the CDC and the USCG could certainly overtake any proposed sale dates. EDIT - lol, I meant sail dates, because obviously the cruise lines are just making up 'sale' dates as they desire.
And, yeah, every forum seems to report the same 'routine' from the cruise lines. Waitlists appear, and then cancellations happen. Cunard at least had the good grace to announce cancellations on its line up to and including November 1. Apparently the Queen Elizabeth won't go til November 24 at the earliest.
I seriously doubt that Voyager will go on the November 14, 2020 Lisbon -> Cape Town voyage, with SA's recent announcement. See https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/news/south-africa-tourism-reopening-2021/.

We are booked on the November Lisbon -> Cape Town Voyager cruise. Payment is due June 17. I wonder if they will cancel it before then.

November 14, 2020 Lisbon to Cape Town. We hope.

Have always used Allianz. Cost is about 10% of the vacation cost for us at 71 and 72 years old living in California. This was for a vacation last month to Central Asia.

You do not have to buy a BP if you do not want to buy them one, but it is not free. The 3rd and 4th person in the cabin do not get perks regardless if it is KSF or not. Typically with free grats though and the OBv we normally get from our TA our grats are covered for everyone. Sometimes if the you get all four free via a TA that will also cover the kids grats based on cruise length. So essentially if you get all four perks the grats are covered by the $300 OBC depending on cruise length.Typically when we combine the KSF promo, TA perks, and the celebrity perks do we ever spend a dollar on board, and we do not prepay the grats for our kids.
Thanks rimmit. If we get a suite, do the kids get to dine in Luminae as well?
-
Thanks davekathy. Only a partial free lunch then. 😀
-
I am wondering how the 4 perks package is used with the kids sail free promotion. Do we need to buy 2 other beverage packages for our 2 kids? What about internet and tips?
Thanks in advance.
