  1. We too are booked on the Voyager Lisbon -> Cape Town cruise. Perhaps it will go! See South Africa’s tourism industry eyes September return. Payment is due Wednesday, but we are still undecided. I hate to plunk down $30k only to have to wait 90 days after the cruise is canceled to get it back.

We really have been looking forward to this cruise (our first Regent cruise and first cruise since the 90s with the kids). Currently, about half of the cabins are available, so social distancing should be doable!

If you've seen the since deleted Facebook posting of what may be an excel or other chart listing of start dates for NCL cruises (people are debating veracity and whether it's ship start up dates or pax start up dates, so who knows),  Regent ships look like.

    Explorer November 6, 2020

    Mariner, January 5, 2021

    Voyager November 14, 2020

    Navigator, October 8, 2020

    Splendor, December 7, 2020

Now who knows - maybe NCL dropped (and deleted) the original posting to ferret out leaks, maybe it's real, but not terribly hard to find.  And, of course, even if it's 'real', events, the CDC and the USCG could certainly overtake any proposed sale dates.  EDIT - lol, I meant sail dates, because obviously the cruise lines are just making up 'sale' dates as they desire.

And, yeah, every forum seems to report the same 'routine' from the cruise lines.  Waitlists appear, and then cancellations happen.  Cunard at least had the good grace to announce cancellations on its line up to and including November 1. Apparently the Queen Elizabeth won't go til November 24 at the earliest.

I seriously doubt that Voyager will go on the November 14, 2020 Lisbon -> Cape Town voyage, with SA's recent announcement. See https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/news/south-africa-tourism-reopening-2021/

You do not have to buy a BP if you do not want to buy them one,  but it is not free.  The 3rd and 4th person in the cabin do not get perks regardless if it is KSF or not.  Typically with free grats though and the OBv we normally get from our TA our grats are covered for everyone.   Sometimes if the you get all four free via a TA that will also cover the kids grats based on cruise length.  So essentially if you get all four perks the grats are covered by the $300 OBC depending on cruise length.Typically when we combine the KSF promo, TA perks, and the celebrity perks do we ever spend a dollar on board, and we do not prepay the grats for our kids.

Thanks rimmit. If we get a suite, do the kids get to dine in Luminae as well?
