  1. I am obsessed with Cruise Critic and planning my upcoming cruise.

When I am at work I can't wait to get home and log in to cruise critic.

Is anyone else as obsessed as I am?

Have you searched for your ship on You Tube yet and watched other people's cruise vacation videos multiple times? There just may be some ship tour videos out there. Not that I would do something like this...just saying. :o

  2. We're from Chicago, so anything will feel better to us in January.

My daughter and I are looking at a 5 night on Liberty, and a few others. I know you can never predict the weather, but which itinerary has a better chance of warmer weather in January, or would it be about the same?

I'm thinking western, only because when we did a short cruise out of Miami a few years ago, it was very chilly there, and even in Key West, and that was early March. It didn't get warmer until we made it to Cozumel.

Some pretty good deals on the ones going to Belize or Costa Maya, along with Cozumel. We've been to both Belize and Costa Maya in June, and it was sweltering hot!

  3. I guess I'm a little confused about the whole my time thing. Is it preferred that you make a reservation for my time? Do you stick to the same time each day, or are you able to dine at different times throughout your cruise? Who do you make a reservation with and how early must you make them?

We typically do late seating, but for some reason we're wait listed for late seating on the 2nd half of our B2B in September, which I thought was odd given it's September and ships are generally less crowded, or don't fill up until closer to sail date. We currently have My Time for second week, which will be a first time for us. Looking at this as a positive thing, since we've always been curious about it.

  4. Have anyone done this cruise? It goes to Aruba, Boniare, Barbados and a few other islands on the way back. We've done some of these islands on the Jewel and Adventure out of San Juan and have loved them, but this looks real actractive, too. Plus we get a few extra sea days. I'm thinking of switching the reservation from a 2016 Jewel that I booked on board a few weeks ago.

Your replies will be greatly appreciated!

What ship is this on? Sounds like something I might be interested in!

  5. I'm going to book Oasis for fall 2015 and take advantage of the sale.

My husband will only sail in an ocean view balcony. We usually get an E1 or E2 when we've been on Voyager class ships, and a D1 for our upcoming Freedom cruise.

If you could pick the equivalent of an E1 or E2 on Oasis, what and where would that be? We tend to go mid-ship and toward aft, but that doesn't really matter either.

So lower price ov balcony, and if you could even recommend a room number, that would be great too.

  6. We have a pre-dinner ritual of meeting up with our friends in the Champagne Bar for a few drinks most evenings. I found some receipts from our last cruise in one of my formal bags a few weeks ago. 4 Bellini's every night (2 each) adds up!

I don't ever remember feeling drunk on a cruise; we're not in our 20's either, we're in our early 50's. We eat a lot throughout the day too.

  7. We love having the Ultimate and Premium Packages! I also like purchasing them before the cruise and paying them up before we get on our cruise, its nice not having that bar bill at the end.

For those who don't drink coffee, the Ultimate package will not be worth, but if you do having just two cups of any premium coffee you will get your $10 a day back.....I cannot understand how people don't buy the premium package unless they drink no alcohol or just one or two drinks a day.

If you drink 5 alcoholic drinks per day and figure out the tip and taxes, you will get your monies worth....if you drink the higher end drinks, more costly ones such as margaritas, long island iced teas, martini's and such, you will go way beyond the $55 per day.

Remember, not only does the premium include alcoholic drinks, it includes non alcoholic drinks, frozen drinks, fountain soda and water. Its like I said, I can't see how anybody not want this package, but to each their own I guess.

Agree. The only time I could see us not getting a package would be on a very port intensive cruise, like the Med, or even Alaska.

For a Caribbean cruise though, it seems like the way to go. Especially since it can be used on Coco Cay and Labadee.

  8. On our last RC we ended up doing dinner in the WJ and were pleasantly surprised. It was the 2nd formal night, we were really tired, a little too much sun, and didn't feel like changing. It was really quite nice, not at all like breakfast or lunch! I don't think they still do this, but back in 2009 they had linens on the tables, lights were dimmed, and there was someone playing classical guitar. Very attentive servers brought us our drinks. Highly recommend.

  9. I've done all these except the Southern Caribbean and I would say you have a great list. I love the Oasis and Allure and Freedom and for my money the Med cruises are the absolute best.

Thanks! I actually think my list is pretty do-able. I probably should have added "make Diamond" and "sail in an Owner's Suite or higher." Our upcoming B2B puts me just 5 days away from Emerald status.
