Hi, Has anyone done the DIY Jeep tour either booked independently or through princess or a shore excursion website recently(like last AK cruise season)? Still trying to decide what to do in Skagway and the clock is ticking- was looking at the train/bus combo from Chilkoot that goes to Emerald lake but we all seem kinda meh about it. Considering the Jeep or car rental so we can see what we want on our own schedule. Thank you!

There is one in the port shopping area in Freeport as well-my husband stopped at this one and the one in Nassau on our recent cruise. The Nassau one is on Bay street and walkable from the port.

I am planning something similar and found some great Air Bnb rentals in the Palmer area. That being said we currently have an Air bnb booked for 4 nights in Anchorage as a base since we aren't postive what we are doing yet and my DH says he doesn't mind driving. We really only have 3 full days before the cruise so if I can convince him to focus on one area say things north of Anchorage(furthest we would do is Talkneetna) then would move the rental to Palmer or Wasilla but then we would have to spend first night in hotel of arrive time in AK. Can sympathize with trying to figure out all the moving pieces.

Thanks! That is what I figured but wanted to confirm before I spent who knows how long on the phone to find out the same thing. I did book and then rebook something for now...will probably keep an eye on things just in case but did save myself about $400 already and better flights!

Are the flights available on EZ-air online the only ones available or do they have access to others if you call? It seems like they are only showing certain flights, but I know there are other flights available on the same airline. Right now, the only reason I am considering EZ-air is because I can pay later. Thanks!

I have a 3rd deck aft cabin that appears to be under the dining room, how much I am going to regret this? Will it be noisy all night long or just in the morning and later in the evening? Don't mind the evening as none of us go to be early but the morning could be an issue. Didn't realize the location until after I booked and there aren't very many appealing cabins left if I was to change. I figure this is better than being right next to the centrum or under a nightclub-at least at that is what I am going with. Sorry for the rambling.

HI, In the early stages of planning a possible Alaskan cruise and looking at either a one-way voyage on either the Grand or Sapphire- Husband and I did a southbound about 15 yrs ago on Coral princess so vaguely familiar with the princess brand but assuming some stuff has changed since then. This time it will be us and two teens. Are there any major differences between the two ships or are they fairly equal? Things that I think might be important this time- indoor pool areas, sports court, Teen/kids club activities for evenings. I know Majestic Princess does one-way sailings as well but ruled that out for now.
