Apparently Sri Lanka back on. 🤷‍♀️

    Sri Lanka

We cancelled Singapore to Mumbai almost 3 weeks ago and it’s still listed on MySilversea. 🤷‍♀️ Our travel agent is handling things.

Hopefully they have secured an appointment for you. Someone on the SS Facebook group mentioned that Trailfinders had suspended the service last week due to the difficulty in booking appointments. There’s an interesting article in the Independent by Simon Calder about the debacle. Just glad we were able to cancel without any penalties. Think there are 15 countries still ineligible for the E visa.

Apparently SS have pulled Sri Lanka from their itinerary in December (Spirit). So far no one knows where the revised schedule will be. We were booked on a cruise Singapore to Mumbai including Sri Lanka in March ‘23 but decided this week to cancel as UK citizens cannot apply for an Indian E visa and obtaining an appointment for the paper version is proving to be extremely difficult. So India will have to wait. We were also concerned that the 3 days in Sri Lanka would be pulled. Looking like that may be the case.
  5. I’m guessing that’s the same airport I will use. We used SS to book our flights earlier this year and that airport was used outward and return. Obviously it’s too early to know for next year - actually was supposed to be March, but we’ve just cancelled because of the issues obtaining an Indian visa for UK citizens. So next one is not until November. Fingers crossed they’ll use our local departure - only 6 miles away for us.
  6. We had one of the large walk in showers on the Spirit. In the ‘new’ section. Was very happy indeed. And a few fellow passengers we met had a touch of envy. The new ship Nova seems to have a lot of these showers i.e. no bathtub. That seems to be the default option.
  7. We’ve done ours a week earlier than planned because of this new policy. But for our Nov/Dec ‘23 cruise they aren’t yet available on My Silversea 🤷‍♀️
  8. Just looked again with VPN turned on and yep it worked. AI prices are there. 👍
  9. I did wonder. Maybe I should turn on the VPN to see the U.K. site.
  10. Maybe it’s because I’m currently in Greece on holiday but I doubt it. All the prices though are shown in Euros for that reason. It’s Silversea’s own website. This is a screenshot
  11. On the U.K. Silversea website there appears to be no flights included on any of the cruises. Huge text saying everything is included, but not flights or airport transfers - yes, the pick up from your home and back. So not ‘quite’ Door to door.
  12. In your opinion! Can’t quite believe how ridiculous your comment is. I would also shop at all of those other supermarkets - have you actually been into them all? If you are selective, you can get some quality items in them all. FYI the Telegraph particularly recommended an Asda own brand sun cream as one of the safest/best in the market. Both Aldi & Lidl sell their own brand delicious continental chocolate. And Costco sell some excellent meat as well as other goods. Maybe I’m just a savvy shopper.
  13. The All inclusive wines were absolutely fine. In fact, very nice. We priced one that we liked, available at home for about £17, so in a restaurant that would likely be charged around £50. So I don’t think that should be criticised at all.
  14. We are looking at the possibility of adding an extension to a cruise scheduled to end in Mumbai, which is a flight to New Delhi and then a trip to Agra obviously for the Taj Mahal. Has anyone done this with Silversea? Wondering about the 3-4 hour coach trip .. we’ve been told it’s not exactly luxury! Any comments will be useful, thank you
