  1. Sometimes Choice Air has better prices, sometimes they do not. Typically we use Choice Air when we are making a one way flight for a trans-atlantic; their prices are way, WAY, lower than purchasing a ticket directly with the airlines. My understanding is if you are booking a regular round trip flight sometimes the airlines have better prices. Just compare and go with the lowest price.

  2. Just to reiterate, you CAN wear shorts in the MDR on the first night. Lots of people haven't gotten their luggage yet and the rules are relaxed that evening. Of course, there are people who plan for this and bring a change in their carry on bag or wear long pants for embarkation.

  3. Depending on the number of Elite cruisers on board the morning breakfast would be held in Michael's or one of the specialty restaurants. Either location would not have been open otherwise. The Elite cocktail hour(s) is held either in Michael's from 5-7 or the Sky Lounge. So both those bars would be closed to you during those hours. However, if a large number of Elites are on board they will issue drink coupons so then any bar you want to go to would be open to you.

  4. You can make a reservation under Select if Early is too early and Late seating is too late. You can also request the same table or a table with a certain server if you find one you like. Of course, with the latter, you may have to wait a bit if you did not have a reservation to get this table/server.

Personally, we love just being able to go whenever we feel like eating.

  5. We had this problem recently on the Silhouette. If you check on AT&T's website it shows that it has service with the following Celebrity ships: Century, Constellation, Eclipse, Equinox, Infinity, Millenium, Solstice and Summit.

As of right now you aren't going to be able to use certain AT&T phones while at sea on Silhouette and Reflection and should plan accordingly.

Not great, but at least you board knowing.

  6. Just a thought re self debark. The last time we did it was at Ft. Lauderdale on the Silhouette and we were to meet in the Main Dining Room on Deck 3 but the actual deck we walked off was Deck 2. So be aware you may have to take your bags up or down a flight of stairs. We did this with some effort....and found ourselves in the Customs/Immigration line behind a couple who had the first number of people who had put out their luggage the night before. The times for self-debark are only about 10-15 minutes earlier than the first group that has put out their luggage. So right then I decided that on our next cruise we would put our luggage out the night before and be in the first group off.

Another thing to consider is when you are trying to get an elevator with all your bags to go down to the assigned meeting place....every elevator that stops is full of people. If we were unencumbered by our luggage we could have just walked down to Deck 2.

    Just a thought.

  7. I meant a restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale anywhere for lunch on Thanksgiving. I have a car. I did check out Open Table but of the few that were listed there many seem to have special Thanksgiving menus. I don't want to eat a big Thanksgiving meal for lunch.

I was specifically asking people who live in Ft. Lauderdale who could tell me of some places that would be open for lunch on Thanksgiving.

  8. Hey, I have a shuttle on Thanksgiving Day at 6 pm to go to the airport for a late flight. So I was looking for a place to have a late lunch and kill some time. I asked this question back in August and the only response I got was that hotel restaurants would be open. Hoping for a better option.

Do any of you Floridians/Ft. Lauderdalians know of a good restaurant that will be open Thanksgiving Day? Or never mind if you know if it would be open, give me a suggestion and I'll contact the place myself.

    Thanks for your help!

  9. Yes, check out the other thread about the website's problems. Its not just you and its not just shore excursions and it has nothing to do with what you are using to search. It has been messed up for weeks....I wouldn't count on it working any time soon. If you want to book shore excursions from Celebrity you will have to call and have them send you a PDF file for your sailing.

  10. IT'S A MIRACLE !!!

I normally use Chrome and for the past what seemed like a month ran into the dead ends & roadblocks. But, I used Chester's recommendation and BINGO!, purchased 3 shore excursions, no fess no muss no knashing of the teeth. Amazing. :D  CAUTION: Your milage may very.

I tried this. Nope. Still nothing.

  11. You can get to the brochure from the shore excursions link at the top of the web page. The click on "advanced search". Fill out the fields for you cruise and you will be able to see all of the excursion descriptions. You just can't book them. But at least you will be able to select what you want, and then call Celebrity.

I tried that. You get a page but when you make a selection nothing happens; you do not get to another page with the selection you made.

So I guess I just do have to call X and try to get them to read me the brochure.
