  1. it is my father and i; it is our "tradition" to do moderno on the last night of any cruise we are on, as a consolation prize of sorts.
  2. um, its fixed price as opposed to a la cart yes. idk about booked first i always use my "free at sea" and platinum meals...and occasionally purchase vouchers before i sail. with the a la cart if you use whatever kind of voucher, they treat it like a "fixed price" because you get a starter main dessert type set up. i know out of pocket the a la cart prices can run "out of control" very quickly.
  3. the bean pie with matcha ice cream is the best dessert on the ship. i will eat somewhere else and stop there for just for dessert. i am not even a dessert person, i am a savory person...it is just that good.
  4. i have seen a video of the RCL churrascaria and it looked awful; NCLs top notch especially the "buffet"/ starter bar.
  5. Moderno is my favorite place by far; drastically better than cagney's. but that is just my opinion; and opinions are like .....well never mind.
  6. off the top of my head there is a 7-day rotating menu. >there is the daily favorites served everyday (think beef pork bird fish noodle/vegatarian) and then a rotating menu. lunch and breakfast are more "repetitive" but that (especially breakfast) is to be expected. also there is an asian themed restaurant jasmine garden* that is complementary, if you want some variety. here is the menu for the mdr NCL Menus 2024 · Prof. Cruise, Ship Tour, Cruise Vacation, Cruise Travel, Cruise Menus (profcruise.com) *just pop in for dessert and try the red bean pie with green tea ice cream; thank me after your cruise 😃
  7. "free style dinning" you just walk up to either or and they seat you wherever.
  8. millions fly millions cruise hundreds brawl. Jesus; its the combination of everyone having a high-resolution video camera in their pocket, the ability to share en masse and mass media highlighting big nothings. people fight less now than let's say 100 years ago.
  9. as someone that has been to miami, florida i do not even see it as american/western: it is the Caribbean/Latin America grafted onto the US. in but not of.
  10. i am from the great lakes region of the US and spot on.
  11. that is a whole lot of pearl clutching.....4000 passengers on a boat and you see some impertinent behavior and mild a that. Do you ever unknowingly do abrasive things? ps the indian guy still was not from the US.
  12. ok, i got this from as a perk for delta cruises (or the company that delta cruises is a front of). however, on NCL's website it still gives me the option to prepay them.
  13. i have sailed on all of the gem class most more than once....except the pearl. NCL seams to use the Pearl mainly for charters.
  14. my last cruise made me sapphire. i will sail as a sapphire for the first time in may. the jump from platinum to sapphire is minimal. platinum is where it is at; meals and laundry.
  15. really? i thought "then" was sequence and "than" was "value". now you are seeing why i went for the geology degree lol. the thing with the bathroom, i booked a handicap cabin because of my father. the handicap bathroom in a club balcony suite and a balcony cabin are probably identical due to physical layout requirements. the purple keycard would have looked great in my keycard collection. (yes i save them and put them in baseball card sleeves)
  16. i am sailing on the NCL sun in may, first time on a "small ship".
  17. i am completely indifferent to cigarette smoke.
  18. so it was a waste of money then. *you forgot the purple card.
  19. the jewel class is my favorite class of cruise ship, with the jade being my favorite.
