I plan on it.  I use my phone until boarding.  If you would please confirm that I need my passport , vax card and test results to complete the ArriveCan so it can't be finished until I have the test results?

You don't need test results to complete ArriveCAN, just vax card & passport info.  I completed ArriveCAN before taking the test and it did not ask for testing results.

We jumped ship on this one. I was able to cancel the Crown Princess and rebook on the Discovery the next day for about $500 less than the what the cruise on the Crown was going to be, also got a little more OBC. The Crown is on it's way up to Seattle, moving at a whopping 12.5kn or 10mph. She got problems.

We did too.  Able to move up a class to a deluxe balcony too!  Had to pay a little to change our return flight, but seemed worth it to me.

Might just abandon GB at this point and see if I can shift my reservation to Discovery for Alaska.

This is what I was thinking too.  Not sure glacier bay is "worth it" in exchange for missing our scheduled excursion in Juneau & all of Ketchican

I hope they sort out the times so we don't lose our excursions. Can't imagine why the big change. Although I am so happy to get on my cruise after 3 years of planning and cancellations and planning again, that I just want on the ship! LOL

I agree!  After 3 years of planning I'm so excited to go!  But I also really want to go on the glacier and take the train to Canada.  The train isnt happening anymore, so I hope the glacier gets worked out....

almost anything will trigger a bit of anxiety these day when it comes to travel. I'm still semi-house bound with all the Covid stuff.

Same here!  Keeping fingers crossed everything will be a go for this summer!!

I have booked with them before and had a great experience. I don’t think they would do anything intentionally, But I also was booked with very reputable vendors on our May 2020 Mediterranean cruise that was canceled due to Covid, and 2 of them changed their refund policy after I had paid when Covid hit. Instead of a refund, they only offered vouchers good for one year. One vendor eventually went out of business. Luckily I contested the charges on my credit card and got refunded. I’m not sure if I want that hassle again.

Totally understandable!  That does sound like a tremendous hassle that I would not be eager to replicate either!

  7. For what it's worth, @JT1962 & @5waldos, we booked with Chilkoot in Feb of 2020 for a tour that summer that was obviously cancelled (and a few reschedules since then).  They have been exceptional about communicating with us, offering refunds or rescheduling, and staying on top of everything proactively.  I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again!

  8. Hi all!  I am looking at excursions in Juneau that land on a glacier/icefield and have time to walk on the ice.  The biggest difference in tours I've found is the amount of time on the ice.  15 minutes doesn't seem like enough but 2 hours seems like far more than I will need!  Anyone have any perspectives?  Will I wish I had more time if I'm only out there for 25 minutes?  Is an hour too long? (fwiw, I'm on Princess in June 2022, first time cruising, first time to Alaska, regular hiker/camper)  Thanks for any thoughts you can share!

People are simply wanting to know if the Medallion would fit in the AirTag holders.

Yep this.  There are lots of AirTag holders on the market & I assume more will become available.  So I was curious if they might be interchangeable, if I find one I particularly like.  Thanks for your thoughts!

Somewhat on topic...  Apple has announced their AirTag ... I'm curious if the Medallion will fit in them. <- that's the tie-in 😉

I've been curious about that too.  I hope somone might post dimensions of the AirTag and of the Medallion for comparison!

The price quote surprised me. I expected Emerald to be less since it's an older ship but for balcony rooms it was $2000 more. That's not much I suppose,  when talking about 11 people.

I believe Emerald goes to Glacier Bay & Discovery does not.  Having priced Alaska cruises for 3 years now, that usually makes for a big price difference - Glacier Bay is seen as "better" by some folks, thus can ask a premium price.

I anticipate an announcement in the next few weeks that Sun & Sea Princess will both be leaving the fleet.

Out of curiosity, what would happen to cruises scheduled on these ships if they are sold/recycled?  We have an a

Alaska cruise on the Sun scheduled for June 2021.  Would they cancel or would they try to assign a different ship? (Obviously all assuming we are cruising at all in June 2021!)

  13. Hi all!  First time cruiser here! This is sort of a silly question but I did a few searches & didn't find any info on the boards about this.

Do I need to have all onboard options (specialty dining, spa, etc) booked before final payment date to do it through the cruise personalizer? If I want to do it after that date, must I wait until onboard the ship?

Thanks in advance for any help!
