I was told by EMed that the tests they have in stock right now all have the same expiration date which is 1/5/22. You’d be better off just ordering the two you need from Optum instead of wasting money on tests that will expire before you need them like some of us have already done.

I am going to use every single one of the ones that I have that are dated 1/5 put then we are a group of 7.  There are also alot of people with several cruises in the next few months so they would be able to use them too.  Not really a waste for everyone.

I would suggest you try and sell the extras.

What is the shelf life on the eMed test kits?  I have 8 cruises booked between October of this year and October of next year, so as long as they don't expire too soon I should be in good shape ordering these for a back up.

Its really a toss up for the current stock, the first batch I ordered had a 10/15 which translates to 1/15.  the second batch I bought had 10/5 which translates to 1/5.  Now that they are ramping up their production of the tests my guess is people will start getting expiration dates that are 6 to 9 months possibly a year out.

Somewhere earlier in the thread it was quoted as a $25 cost. I just went to the eMed website and when I clicked order it said $150. I did not go any farther. Can you verify your cost?  Does it later ask about insurance?

Someone mentioned in the last few days that their insurance was willing to reimburse so you may want to contact your insurance to check with them.

Boosters are starting in our area.  I’m wondering if this effect anything…..my doctor said today to be sure I get mine 2 weeks before we cruise.  ( We don’t go until early November.). The DH may not qualify for his until December.  Can’t wait to see what cruising is like next year….I need a cruise to relax.  Can’t wait for that first fruity drink on board.  I may even shed a happy tear.

My husband's oncologist wanted him to have one before his treatments start after our trip, I could see that third dose done this week just confusing the port agents next weekend (since the third dose isn't required yet) so I kept the old vaccine card to present to them.  I truly don't want to deal with confusion at the port.

And yes they completely replaced his laminated card (which they laminated) with a new one.

Well, this sucks for us. No testing near by that would work for us. We fly down to FL on 9/10 and need to leave for the airport at 9am. Really don't want to fly down there to find out I'm asymptomatic. This testing has been nothing but a PITA and stressful for out of staters flying in to cruise. I understand the protocols and accept the reason they are in place but 2 days is a little much...

I don't think it will affect our sailing but we just have to wait and see.

Glad to hear that the test kits can be used by others in my travel party.

So why is E-Med asking for name of the test takers?  I am concerned that E-Med will link the test taker's name to the test kits, and only those listed on the purchase form can use the test kits.

I am not sure, it maybe that they need to complete a "Prescription" for the order.  It's basically just paper work on their part.

Yup..I leave on the 11th. Glad I got the Binax test also. I purchased it as my secondary test since scheduled my PCR for 3 days out. If Royal changes to 2 days the Binax will become my primary test as I wouldn't even bother trying to reschedule my PCR and hope it will be back in 2 days prior to boarding.

But isn't that suppose to take affect on the 13th so wouldn't affect you?

Anyone tried to use one of these tests for a child under 12 and over 4?  The emed website says approved for kids ages 4 and up but cdc website now says rapid antigen doesn’t count for precruise test for unvaccinated.

OMG can you give me a link for that information, I have three going next week, and was going to use the home proctored for them.

I just read that Carnival is working on setting up testing sites (for a fee) at the ports  I was fortunate to be able to get mine right at my health care provider's office.  Sat there for 15 minutes and left with my results.

Apparently there is a company out of Orlando that just started setting up in Port Canaveral Parking lot without any invitation but is doing a brisk business.  I was able to get the URL off of the van in vlog post by La Lido Loca.  http://www.covidtestingllc.com.

Does anyone know if I can use the 6 pack order for 4 people?  I tried placing an order on E-Med yesterday, and the order form only allows me to enter 3 names when the travel party has 4 people.  Or do I need to buy another 2 pack from Optum?

Tried asking E-Med agent and the call dropped after I waited for more than 30 minutes.  Hopefully someone has similar dilemma and already know the answer.

Yes, once you order you could use them for anyone, they just need a navica account or in the case of children an managed account on the parents account, I did hear that @exm had one that was faulty so there is that but for four you have two as back up.

Everyone needs their own NAVICA account.  Minors under 18 have a "managed NAVICA account".  Refer to the  FAQ under the support tab on the emed website.

Well except for minors but the instructions for that are back several pages.  At least I think that it's on this thread; it may be one of the others.

Anyone can use the tests. You just have to individually sign up for the Navica app. Be careful about ordering and thinking you can use the extra later. I ordered the 6 pack thinking I could use two now and the other four for my January back to back cruise, but when they arrived they are only good until January 5, 2022 so I am stuck with 4 tests that are useless to me.

That's frustrating, I know that the first 6 I ordered first had an expiration of January 15th but the next six I ordered when we decided that we were going to use them on the littles, were January 5th so we will use the these first and then one out of the first box if needed.

Thanks so much to you and others for posting this info!  I’m not cruising now until January on 2 B2Bs and was wondering when I should order them.
I’m concerned they will soon be in short supply, but can’t order yet due to the short shelf life. 🤷‍♀️

It's not really a short shelf life it's more they are getting rid of the stock they have had since the beginning of the year.  I think once they get rid of all the older stock people will start receiving product with a longer shelf life.

Where is this list of lot numbers and expirations dates posted?  We received our tests and I am not sure which date is accurate.  So a list of lot numbers would be helpful.  We do have appts. for in-person testing, but these tests are backups, if needed.
    thanks for your help!

Here you go guess we will have to upload this file to every thread talking about it.
