  1. We went to the CG last night. Bread, soup, salad, filet, lobster, mushrooms, potatoes, fries, dessert, and a bottle of wine....we were both so stuffed afterwards, that we didn't do anything after that. We didn't care to see the magician anyways.

Today we were in Dominica. It was hot & sunny. Ships of this size cannot dock "downtown", so we were at a different location which is not that far away. There is a shuttle to the downtown for $2pp. Right outside of our ship was a warehouse where souvenirs are sold. We did not get off. Today was a full pool day for us. I was in the pool doing laps with the sunrise, and remained there through the late afternoon. It was Italian night tonight, so I made sure to eat light. As I say every year, as a fat kid growing up in the 80s, an Italian buffet was the dream! As an adult trying to live healthy, I go all in on this night...as the pictures will show...I sampled almost everything🤢

After eating we had a seat in the atrium and watched the Princess fashion show. We had not planned on seeing the production show tonight, but was in the vicinity so decided to have a look. Thirty minutes before showtime, and all seats where taken. I observed a little in the casino...full house every night on this sailing, before having a night cap on the balcony.

St Thomas tomorrow...weather is looking good.

  2. As mentioned, both the CD & DCD are both changing as of the next sailing.

I have posted all of the MDR menus except for the 1st night.

Atomic...if I am being completely honest: they have a limited repertoire, the male vocalist has a low voice and doesn't always speak into the mic, they talk too much in between songs, their accents are too apparent when they sing.

  3. Today we were arriving in Grenada at 1pm. It was a typical morning...coffe, donut, poolside, breakfast, poolside. The sun was strong today. After we arrived, I eventually went out on my own walking tour of the area. Zig zagging through the narrow streets, I was hot and soaked! For spices, the ship recommends a place called Dot's Plaza. It is a few winding blocks from the pier. I eventually came across it, and the lineup was out the door. With a name like plaza, you would expect something bigger than the whole in the wall that it is. I got in line for a few minutes, and after not moving at all, decided it was not worth 30-40 minutes to look at some spices that were probably the same as every other store. After my tour, I needed a dip in the pool...of course I grabbed Ro in with me. CG tonight...hopefully we stay in schedule.

I am told that the band Rhapsody had their final week last week.....that is too bad since we had them last year on the Regal, and they are quite good. I don't know how long the band's contracts are for, but this is Atomic's first sailing.

The first pics are the Breton, which is a breakfast specialty chocolate item. Just as good as the chocolate donuts, I can eat them everyday!

  4. After taking the Benadryl, the stinging stopped and the redness faded. I was in a haze through the afternoon. Wanting to get full enjoyment from our CG meal, I changed the reservation for tonight. Although I was feeling better, my night did not go much better. The crab shack was open again so only half the buffet was available. Nothing appealed to me so I just had a small salad and went to get a burger. For the first time the ship felt very humid...the central staircase, the buffet, Crooners....maybe it was just me, but I found them to be quite uncomfortable. I saw the intro to the Sweet Soul Music show but was not in the mood. I went to the casino, and was waiting for a seat at a table. When the guy at the corner got up, a little old lady swooped in. I didn't feel like making a scene, so I just walked away....didn't want to risk seeing her win and wasn't feeling too lucky on the day anyways. I grabbed a latte for the IC and decided to get some fresh air and read on the balcony. Everything was wet. I put a towel down and dried the table. I didn't last too long because water was dripping from the roof. It was just one of those days....

    * regarding the cabin, there is noise pollution. We are very close to the stairs, which is both a positive & a negative. We do sometimes hear and feel the music coming from the lower venues. If you have sensitive hearing like I do, you better have ear plugs. Ro can sleep through anything. The slightest rattle in the walls will keep me awake...so I am plugged up regardless.

  5. Yesterday afternoon was by the pool through the first half of the football game. Dinner was at the buffet where it was Brazilian night. I ate too much! We made sure to get to the Christina Bianco show early. It did not take long for every seat to be filled. Afterwards we walked around. I ended the night with some chocolate mouse and caught the last quarter of the NE game on MUTS.

Today is a hot one in Bonaire with passing clouds. I had thought last night that I might take a water taxi today to Klein Bonaire, but it didn't happen. It is a short day with a 1:30pm all aboard. By the time I got my act together I decided to stay closer to home. The water taxi would have cost $15pp round trip. They make hourly trips. After walking around the immediate area, I chose to swim just to the side of the ship. It is not a beach, just public access to the ocean. I was looking at the fish and doing laps when my leg started to sting. I got out and discovered 5 red marks above my knee. A google search says that it might be from jellyfish larvae. Back on board I showered at the pool and went back to the room to get a Benadryl. I am tired and feeling a little off now. We have a reservation tonight in the CG. I will take it easy this afternoon.

  6. It is a very hot day with passing clouds. Ro got me a coffee with my daily donut, then we went ashore. We are both animal lovers, so we went to Philips animal garden. It is an animal rescue sanctuary. The taxi was $20 each way, and the entry is $10pp. They give you food to feed the animals. It is s good place to get up close to them. When we were done, we walked around the shops. It is Sunday, so a lot of stores are closed...not the jewelry stores! Back on the ship i quickly did 30 laps, and I had "now that's a salad!" and a burger. Will need to do more laps soon!

  7. It was a beautiful sea day. After my swim I watched Finding Dory on MUTS. I skipped breakfast and waited for my lamb. I had a big lunch which included a dessert bowl of fries with ketchup ☠️. A few more hours taking the sun and frolicking in the pool with Ro. When I had enough sun I went to check out the batting cage, but I couldn't play in sandals. I then grabbed an iced mocha from the IC and got comfortable on the balcony with the latest Robert Crais book. Back to the buffet for dinner (crab shack was tonight). Soup, salad and a small plate of veal and chicken. Mud pie a la mode for dessert. We went to the production show Colors of the World. The theatre was almost full when we got there, so I was in a seat with a poor viewing angle. I couldn't see half the stage but I enjoyed the music. I lost a few $$$ in the casino before calling it a night. It was a good day...Aruba tomorrow [emoji3]

  8. It is a beautiful morning at sea, the sun is shining on us. Ro went down to the IC while I watched the end of the Ghostbusters remake...horrible (and I say that as a fan of those ladies). She came back with coffees, my daily donut and a chocolate filled something called a Breton......numnumnum so good! After licking the plate clean, I put on my goggles and headed to the pool....sploosh, I sank like a rock...one, two, three, CLEAR...ok, we got him back! 50 hard laps later I am relaxing in the shade. The perimeter loungers were all reserved by 8:30am.

  9. I was at the pool until mid afternoon when I decided I needed a nap. I went back to the cabin, and since I don't actually nap, watched the latest Star Trek movie in bed. We went to the early show (6:30pm) to see the comedian. He had a good set. From there we passed by Effy to get the free pendant, then to the CG to make our Monday reservation. Dinner was at the buffet...the usual routine of soup, big salad, misc items, and of course dessert(s). We closed the night with coffee from the IC and we listened to the pianist in Crooners...he was very good.

Another sea day tomorrow. We moved the clocks 1hr forward.

I'll ask Ron if I get the chance. I know this is the Deputy Cruise Directors last sailing before his break.

  10. I sat through the entire shopping show for the first time ever. It was quite long. They gave away a lot of stuff...didn't win anything [emoji24]. Afterwards I ran up the 8 flights of stairs...time to eat...oh no, there it is...the lamb [emoji83]. I had a large plate: soft lamb taco, hard beef taco, samosa, fritter and short ribs. On my way out a had a look at the desserts...a few minutes later I had eaten a cookie, warm brownie with chocolate sauce and a macadamia brownie....food coma is next! I found out the Italian night will be Dominica...now I can make my Crown Grill reservation. The band Atomic is playing pool side...imo, they are not very good. It is a very nice sea day!
