  1. Yes me too. Not even worth consideration.
  2. DH and I typically only do carryons but for our Alaskan cruise this summer I don’t think we can make it work so we will check one bag plus the carryons. Men’s stuff just seems to take up more room, such as jeans, khakis, dress shoes. I could probably do it as a woman who is only 5 ft (my stuff is only so big lol.)
  3. Too funny! I’m just waiting to become one…I’m on the delayed heat plan. 🙂
  4. Last time I sailed in Alaska (Disney) the MDR was so cold the servers brought our kids tablecloths to wrap up in. I’m going to ask everyone until I go…lol…I don’t want to overpack but I either have sleeveless/short sleeves or sweaters…not really an in between person I guess.
  5. On the app will it be obvious where to check in?
  6. If you’re that far out on a cruise (I am for one) figure why not wait and see. My cruise is April 2025. If I don’t like the Black Friday “deals” I still have a few months and im not parting with my money yet. 🙂
  7. Thank you. Sounds like our MO as well…I like to recognize when someone does a good job for me in the moment. Cruises have had a different vibe but I’m happy to hear that ppl do this.
  8. Looks amazing…I’m not opposed to tipping on top of the included gratuities. Is this standard practice for you? Based on service? And, a couple bucks for a visit? At home we tend to overtip and have good relationships with bartenders at a place we frequent as we have a level of mutual appreciation/respect, so that’s our typical, but on ships with included gratuities I’ve always done it at the end of the cruise which can get…complicated, messy, missing employees. Looking for advice.
  9. How is the temp in the MDR? Do you need covered arms?
  10. On a previous Alaskan cruise in early August it was chilly and rainy sometimes and warm other times. The views on deck were worth going out for. We have an IV which I think (despite not being popular) might work out well in Alaska. I did, and will again, pack more than normal so I have weather options.
  11. Me too…then I revised it to a “steamer trunk” and finally got to the real item
  12. I had Fine Cut on Edge booked with some OBC and canceled it and am thinking I’ll do sea day lunch at Raw on 5 instead should the opportunity present itself. I just wasn’t getting the vibe it was a guaranteed win and since I’ve already paid for food in the MDRs I’m sticking with that.
  13. Ah yes so my plan to play with $10 isn’t going to cut it. lol. That’s my threshold on what I’m willing to throw way. 😂
  14. Interesting…will keep that in mind. I don’t get sea sick but am always prepared just in case lol
  15. I have heard anecdotally that coming out of Seattle in the first 12ish hours you may have the roughest seas. Based on experience, the inside passage was very calm. We are on edge later in the season so will be super interested to follow along with you!
  16. Yes and we thought long and hard and decided we are willing to take the risk. Could be on land, get into an accident and not make it either. This is hard for me as I don’t like to waste $. 😂
  17. I imagine we won’t know this for quite some time…departure is listed as 5:00 not 3:00 but at 11 months out I’m not trusting anything…
  18. Yes that is the question…lol…I just honestly was wondering how quickly one can get off the ship if the itinerary has a listed time of 8am (and I know that can change or not happen at all.)
  19. Yep I know but we’ve thought about it and are good with the length of time.
  20. Yep then I guess we just fly home. Lol
  21. Agreed. We are east coast but doing the Dry Tortugas as a 16th bday gift for DS who would be less interested in the rest. DH has spent time in Key West and some day I’ll go back but as it stands out flights, hotel in Fll are all points, no rental, balcony room on ship for 3 for cheap (plus the dry tortugas which is $$$) but it all works outside the timing concerns. Plus it’s all booked. 🙂
  22. Thank you. Their info says they are located at the airport. I assume our docking location and the time could be changed since we are far out which leads me to believe the 10am excursion is the best choice.
  23. Can you elaborate as to what this means for me in regard to getting to the sea plane office which I believe is adjacent to the airport.
