We are 11 months out…Key West is day 2, day 1 is a sea day. No clue on docking. If the itinerary changes we will cancel the cruise and lose our $300 deposit and figure key west out another way….its basically the reason we booked the cruise as it was way cheaper to do the cruise than it was to rent a car and do a hotel or other accommodations. 🙂

No 3:00 would not work. As of right now…11 mo out it says a 5:00 departure but I think it’s too tight regardless.

April 2025 cruise that docks in Key West. We plan to take a non Celebrity trip to Dry Tortugas via seaplane (we know all the risks and are willing to take them as this is a bucket list excursion for us and if we don’t dock we know we lose the $) The itinerary has the times as 8:00am-5:00pm. Google search says the location for the seaplane is 6 min away (guessing that is highly variable based on securing a taxi and traffic) and arrival is supposed to be 30 min prior to the flight time. The options that we are considering for this 4 hour excursion are 10a and 12p. The earlier one will be a hair stressful in terms of getting there by 9:30a but the 12pm would potentially be too tight as it wouldn’t get back until 4. Thoughts on which to choose? I guess I’m leaning toward the 10 but I’ve never had any issues just walking off a ship when it’s cleared but wondering if that’s just been luck and I don’t think I’ve ever attempted it at the earliest opportunity whatever that time is.

Non Refundable Deposit - Sales / Tip / Tricks
cruisetonowhere10 replied to -The-True-North-'s topic in Celebrity Cruises
I have found in some cases that the no refundable deposit is actually significantly less than trip insurance (to be fair I almost always do cancel for any reason which is higher) but for an April 2025 I believe I paid $300 for 3 of us for a deposit on a 4 night cruise in a balcony so even though it was so far out I decided it was worth booking at the rate I paid and I’m foregoing trip insurance at this time because I’m willing to lose the $300 and potentially the rest given the price of insurance (I’ve been averaging policies around $500.) Everyone has a different risk tolerance. -
I would imagine that could be the case. In my opinion (which holds zero weight) I’d proactively remove the captain at the earliest opportunity both from a PR and liability standpoint. Once the investigation is complete, X reevaluates captain assignments and makes whatever needed adjustments are necessary. Simply safer that way. Unfortunate for the captain but it is his ship and a potential error occurred and he must answer to that as well as protect the safety of the passengers/crew as well as the image of the company who employs him. While I understand the wait for an investigation mentality, I wouldn’t risk the liability waiting for that to happen.

Cunard Room Service and Laundry List at May 2024

Okay, that is what I gathered from the menu. An up charge for certain premium items, but no general fee. Thank you! -

New to Cunard…is there a room service fee in a Britannia balcony (not club level) stateroom? Thank you! -

Thank you! We probably will skip Pikes Place as we’ve both been several times and will go before the cruise the week before. Thinking our best bet is to get kicked off the ship and then head to SEATAC. -
Beyond Beverage Prices Differ in Bars?
cruisetonowhere10 replied to asctony's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I just did a pretend pricing based on my next cruise (35% off premium package which I already have) and if I do premium for the 2 adults and non alcoholic for the 1 child it’s actually just over 1/2 the price of the cruise itself including gratuities (I got a pretty good deal on the cruise itself but still…) -

Yes! I have a short 4 night trip in 2025 with two port days and I’m going to attempt the bring wine on board and then buy drinks as we go to see how it really works out. -

Flight is 1:25 with TSA Precheck so based on what you’ve shared before we should be good to stay on until 9ish (Sailing on Edge) and still get to SEA with time to spare (especially if we do luggage valet.) Am I correct? -

Awesome. Thank you. So we could take out time and get booted off the ship? 🙂 We gave both spent time in Seattle and have time precruise as well so heading out sightseeing will depend on how motivated we are before two longish flights home. -
SWA wants to mess with me…they’ve changed our flight for the second time out of SEA (on a Friday for what it’s worth.) We are sailing Celebrity and will do self walk off most likely. Our flight is now at 1:25 pm (we originally had a much earlier flight so this is good except it’s a bit more time than I’d like.) Was not considering the luggage valet service before but wondering if it makes sense? Also wondering what time we should be off the ship/headed to the airport? Originally it was haul our butts off the ship as fast as possible and hope we make it to the flight on time so now I’m wondering how leisurely we can be that morning. 🙂

Good to know the luggage valet works well. We have a FLL cruise next year (and our home airport is BDL) so nice to know it’s an option that works if needed. -
Guest Laundry Room at Edge and Solstice

To the best of my knowledge, based on past experience, there are no guest use laundry rooms. You must send it out for a charge.
