Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I have no complaints with Celebrity whatsoever. Maybe the ones complaining should try Carnival if they are unhappy with the ā€œconsistencyā€ of the soup and find it ā€œsubstandardā€ on Celebrity. Iā€™m batting 1000, 3 for 3 during my 3 Celebrity cruises in the last 6 months on 3 different Celebrity ships.
  2. Itā€™s my favorite starter also by far. I had it on the Beyond in November 2022, on the Edge in February 2023 and on the Summit in April 2023 and it was always the same every nightā€¦absolutely DELICIOUS šŸ˜‹! Iā€™ve got to give it a try making it!
  3. I agree 100 %. šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘ŒšŸ»šŸ‘šŸ» šŸ’Æ Iā€™m just not planning on taking another Carnival cruise though I reserve the right to change my mind at a later date. Iā€™m spoiled after my cruise on the Celebrity Beyond. No squalling. No squealing. No pounding on the doors in the middle of the night. No dodging underaged, pint sized terrorists in the hallways. No Neanderthals propping up their filthy feet on the seat opposite of them in the main dining room in the evening. No hooligans picking up food and putting it back in the buffet lines. I donā€™t mind getting behind someone pushing a walker and/or someone who walks with a cane. I will gladly smile and be content knowing that I wonā€™t be dealing with uncivilized behavior because I am not on Carnival. Iā€™ve met some of the most interesting and high quality people on Celebrity too.
  4. I think it was a number 1 country hit for him back in the 1990s. šŸ˜‚
  5. You cannot be serious. I quoted a line from a Garth Brooks song that Garth Brooks wrote himself. You have got to be kidding. lol
  6. Thatā€™s true. I believe, generally speaking, we get what we pay for. If we want a more exclusive and civilized cruise experience, we are going to have to pay the extra to have it or to have a better chance of having it. There are no guarantees we will not cross paths with a few Neanderthals and unsavory characters when we decide to book a cruise however being mindful of the cruise line, dates and itinerary are more often than not good indicators of the experiences we are signing up for. The difference between cruising on Carnival and cruising on Celebrity was like the difference between night and day in my opinion. That being said, Iā€™ve never been on a bad cruise. Iā€™ve enjoyed them all and didnā€™t want them to ever end.
  7. True story. Someone I know quite well told me he went on a Carnival cruise with his family and he went to the main dining room on one of the chic dress nights wearing shorts and flip flops and he was furious because he wasnā€™t permitted to enter wearing his beach bum attireā€¦and he was so outraged and insulted because according to him and I quote ā€œItā€™s MY damn vacation! And I should be allowed to wear any damn thing that I want to wear on MY damn vacation.ā€ Heā€™s a big Garth Brooks fan so naturally he isnā€™t much on social graces. Maybe cruising just isnā€™t for him.
  8. I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments you expressed in your comment. The older the crowd and the more affluent they are, the better in my opinion. A crowd of older folks are generally better behaved, display better manners, and are far less likely to act like wild banshees than a younger crowd. I donā€™t care what anyone says to the contrary. This has been my experience.
  9. Thatā€™s just not true. The ā€œslobsā€ are most certainly not everywhere. Please do not mislead people by categorically stating such a thing and erroneously generalizing that ā€œslobs are everywhereā€ and the original post did in fact mention Celebrity.
  10. I have little tolerance/ patience with inconsiderate slobs. That is why I have graduated from Carnival to Celebrity. The class of people who cruise with Celebrity are generally far more mature and refined.
  11. I find them both equally offensive. Elaine5715ā€™s information was relevant to the topic of discussion. Thatā€™s what.
  12. Thatā€™s considered ā€œFUNā€ to too many who cruise on Carnival but that kind of ā€œFUNā€ does not appeal to me. That ship has sailed. šŸ›³ļø
  13. That is my understanding as well and I couldnā€™t agree more.
  14. I agree with your sentiments. I try my best to not be one of those people. The ā€œrules for thee but not for meā€ types. The hypocrites. Society would benefit greatly if more people in general were more courteous, respectful, practiced empathy, were more considerate of others and had better manners. I mean, look how people in general drive these days. Itā€™s like a scene right out of the Road Warrior. And what percentage of people actually use their turn signals? Half or maybe less? A little courtesy, politeness and good manners goes a long way in my opinion. I believe an individualā€™s upbringing often reflects these things.
  15. I agree with you 100 %. I prefer cruising with a more mature / older crowd. The worst thing that I have to deal with is the occasional oldster who pours his or her coffee and stands there mixing the cream and sugar then tasting it to see if itā€™s right or not. If not, itā€™s got to be corrected right there for another minute before freeing up access to the coffee for others. I can deal with that with no problem.
