  1. Certainly agree that testing positive would be a monumental disappointment and would spoil an expensive vacation. But not knowing you are positive and not being postive are not the same thing. As disappointed as I would be to learn I was positive, I would feel worse learning that I was the anonymous vector spreading the virus to other passengers. And I wouldn't particularly appreciate another passenger (unintentionally, of course) spreading it to me, because "they didn't know". While most people have very mild symtoms these days, there are still many who have complications - hospitalizations are again on a pretty steep rise lately. It is frustrating and complex, with no easy solutions. A little spit in the morning? Well, to coin a phrase, spit happens. 🙂
  2. Rule number one: there is no accounting for taste. Our observation is that there are Manfredi's preferring folks and there are Chef's Table preferring folks and a Venn diagram would show less overlap than one might expect. We happen to be Chef's Table folks. Menu's are more "interesting" with perhaps ingredents and preparations less familiar to some. Manfredi's is good too, but (pulling on my flame suit) a fairly conventional mid-tier-ish steakhouse / italian restaurant. (Which we do eat at and enjoy - we are not anti food of any kind).
  3. Saw that coming. Stockholm excursions (well two of them) have been listed for Mariehamn for a while now. We are coming in a couple of days early to Stockholm, so I guess we'll be experts. Sigh.
  4. That is of course true, just be very sure you understand current airfares (which are up dramatically in the last month or so) before playing that card. Air Canada should honor the fair you paid and on a similar routing - even if they have to put you on another carrier.
  5. More details: Air Canada is in the Star Alliance which includes, among others, United and Lufthansa, both of which are showing one-stop service SFO-BGO on 9/26, so you should be fine. (Note: Air Canada needs to take care of that - don't call the other airlines.) Also, you are far enough out from your travel dates that it could change again, including restoration of your original plans. In case you can't tell - I traveled for business for 30+ years!
  6. I know you were being hyperbolic, but I wouldn't recommend yelling at them. 🙂 They absolutely can come up with a better option that what they assigned to you. There could be any of number of reason why the routing you were on is no longer an option, but they owe you a much better routing - and they have options, if not on Air Canada aircraft, certainly with partner airlines. Those kind of changes are what the computer spits out, so getting a human on the phone is essential. I will be shocked - and tempted to yell myself - if they don't get you there with in a few hours before or after your original plan.
