  1. I’m considering a solo four day on Independence of the Seas just to experience RC. It’s fairly cheap and this particular date doesn’t have as large a single upcharge as others. We’ve cruised on Celebrity, Princess, MSC and Carnival but never on Royal. How different is the Royal Caribbean experience compared to other lines?
  2. We tested negative on July 6 before our July 8 Alaska cruise. Once we arrived in Alaska it rained nonstop and at every port. We were soaked to the bone for days. I started sneezing and had a runny nose on about the 6th day. I just thought I had a cold from all the cold, wet conditions but as it turns out my wife started getting sick and we both tested positive when we returned home. It didn’t occur to me I might have Covid because I wasn’t coughing and didn’t think I had a fever, but even if it had they could have only isolated us for the last day because I was asymptomatic until then. The FB group makes it sound like a significant number of us were infected and tested positive on return. Kinda makes you wonder if the pre-cruise testing is nothing more than theater?
  3. We just returned from the July 8-15 Solstice sailing. Our novel experience was getting Covid. I’m hearing from other sources that we are far from being the only ones infected on this cruise. But hey, at least we got to spend money on a pre-cruise test, so that’s money well spent LOL. The food was the best we’ve ever had on a cruise, so I’m thankful we were still able to taste it 😀
  4. I must be a dummy but when I checked the spreadsheet it said the single supplement for all those cruises was 100%. Shouldn’t it be 0%?
  5. Are there any decent alternatives to parking at the terminal in Charleston?
  6. I was on May 1-8 and there were about 600 people. It was wonderful.
  7. I was Bella at the beginning of the month and I thought I was late dIning, but when I got my card it said anytime dining. I guess because there were only about 600 people on board they didn’t bother enforcing the dining times.
  8. Being able to walk off the ship and directly onto the beach is a large part of the appeal. Plus you have the choice of several beaches, including the lagoon that is sheltered from the wind and surf. The food selection is also more varied than others that just do burgers and hot dogs. The ribs are fantastic.
  9. Thanks for the review. Divina is the only cruise ship I’ve been on twice. I really enjoy it.
  10. I have zero desire to ever go to Nassau again. I want a cruise that stays at the island multiple nights instead.
  11. The one time I went to HMC (April of this year) I spent three hours total standing in line to board the tender. No thanks on doing that again.
  12. I just returned from a seven day cruise that overnighted in Ocean Cay then went to Costa Maya and Cozumel. Ocean Cay was by far my favorite part of the cruise. I wish they offered a 3 or 4 day cruise that just stayed at the island.
  13. If you look on the MSC website there’s a drinks package page that says explicitly frozen drinks are part of the Easy Plus package. There’s also a very detailed comparison document between all the different packages and it says frozen drinks are not included. Does anyone have experience with ordering stuff like frozen margaritas a or Blue Hawaiian on the Easy Plus package? I’m not much of a drinker but since I paid for the drinks package I wouldn’t mind trying some of the fancy ones so long as I don’t have to pay extra for them.
