  1. Typically, I book cruises about 1 to 7 months out. There is a cruise I'd like to do in 2024. I always wondered about the prices going down closer to the cruise, especially with a large ship. I am looking at the Prima out of Galveston in January of 2024. On our last cruise a few people complained that they booked it 2 years out and the prices were lower now than when they booked it. I remember booking a cruise on Royal Caribbean, and when there was a price drop, even after final payment, I was issued OBC. Thoughts? TIA
  2. THIS! Great idea! My mom had her luggage delayed on a land trip in Europe. A picture of her luggage would have helped locate it, she was without for two weeks! BTW....Laszlo is such a wonderful name! Az én édes apámat Lászlónak hívták.
  3. So I have a update! My husband and I both got one. I just booked a cruise and we were able to use both of them, however, one for 100.00 and one for 85.00. Where the $15.00 went, I don't know, however, I was able to also use them, in addition with using a Future cruise credit.
  4. I get it too, and I follow the rules ...and I know on a ship, having an area just for vaping wouldn't be cost effective. I don't think most get it that people that vape don't like the smell of cigarette smoke either.
  5. I think vaping should be allowed on the balconies and places that there are not that many people outside. I do agree with the smoking policies, but vaping outside...it disappears quickly.
  6. What is the best advice you can give a person that has cruised with NCL and Royal, but not MSC? I know it is different, but what would be the important things to know.
  7. On the Jewel, we bought one before at 124.00 and on board I was curious as to how much there were if you bought it on board....they were about 175.00 to give you a difference.
  8. Yes, the space is the best amenity! They did remove the tubs and have a nice large shower!
  9. I won an upgrade to a club balcony on the Jewel for our Alaska trip.....OMG...the bathroom was so much larger, full size shower and the space was so, so nice. A regular balcony bathroom is no bigger than the head on my small sailboat, lol. The balcony itself seemed larger than a standard. Now if I have an option for a club vs a regular balcony and it is not too pricy, I would go for it. The treats were a nice touch, but nothing super special. I actually was more happy for the carton of water. "Treats" were sparkling wine, cookies, carton of water, free laundry bag, assorted chocolates. A different one daily. There were also robes in the closet for us to use. Just an FYI, I bid 120/pp for it and won the bid.
  10. They did...just someone got dyslexic with the room numbers. I understood the mistake. I gave them my claim ticket...and they saw that they were already given to someone else, who signed in my signature space.
  11. With the knives as you debark from the cruise they have a table set up with items taken...most were knives. The system I would think works pretty well, just didn't for me this time. Someone who bought 3 knive took my 4 more expensive knives....she knew...and hey Karma is a ....
  12. No, I understand that these things happen, as Cole said, it was unfortunate.....live and learn. It was a reasonable compensation. No one should lose their job over this....mistakes happen, and it happened to me, just was feeling disappointment. I will be seeing about ordering one on line, but you know, just not quite the same. Like I said, the cruise was amazing.
  13. So I was wondering if anyone had this happen, and if I have any other options. I bought Ulu knives in Ketchikan AK and all knives are collected and then given back on disembarkation. NCL gave the knives I purchased to someone else. This person purchased 3 knives cheaper than the 4 I bought. When she was handed my goods, she obviously knew they were not hers but took them any way, and so when I went to collect my items, they were not there. NCL gave me a credit for the lost items, but I am so sad that these items that I purchased for gifts leave me empty handed. The cruise was fabulous, this was the only hiccup, just feeling like I waited to purchase these and now am empty handed. It seems to me that they were more concerned, and spent more time about how this happened, and not about what what could be done. Anyone have this happen with any items?
  14. What a wonderful review, Yvonne! I just read it, sipping coffee in the real world. My internal clock is all messed up with the travel and time changes, however, the memories of this cruise will stay with me a life time. So wonderful meeting you and your Dad, along with so many others. Having fewer passengers on the ship both legs was a gift as well, knowing that a cruise like this will probably never happen again. I felt completely spoiled for 2 weeks. Just a side note to anyone reading.... If you are leaving from Vancouver, I would highly suggest spending some time in this amazing city. This is a place I would love to see again. Vancouver is absolutely stunning...mountains and water, gorgeous parks and walkways. Compared with Denver, and I live downtown, Vancouver was so clean, locals were so helpful, public transportation was easy to navigate. Although we are working on "Scott's bucket list", this is certainly one we'd like to repeat, God willing. Scotland is next on the list....thinking maybe a cruise....
