    Is this an independent excursion?

Yes independent excursion booked through trip advisor.  It is 3 hours long, so know we'll be back at the ship on time, and they told us to meet at the Ferry Pier.  So taxis it is, 3 miles is too far for him to walk now. Thank you!

  2. We will be in Cozumel in November on Adventure of the Seas, and have booked a snorkel excursion that leaves from the ferry pier.  What would be the best way to get there?  I have walked it in the past, however, my husband now has cancer and it would be too far of a walk for him before snorkeling. Thank you!

  3. I'm cheap too, and never got the beverage package until I got married.  If you want to drink any time you want anything you want, then it is for you.  However, if you are only going to have a drink or two a day, skip it.  There is free iced tea, coffee (not specialty) and lemonade. I also opted for the drink of the day which is cheaper.  You can also bring two bottles of wine on board, (I checked) and 6 six packs of soda....so it is a decision you need to make on your drinking habits.  Happy cruising!

I am sure they will allow whatever suppliments he requires, but I can tell you what will happen if he regurgitates in public spaces like the MDR.  It happened to a cruise bud of mine a couple years ago, way before CV19.  Her tummy was just upset, but she used her napkin and went to powder room and threw it away, when she came back to the table they had sent a whole team in full hazmat to clean and make sure the area was uncontaminated...so expect a big to do if it happens.  She was so embarrassed we all left before finishing the meal.  I would certainly inquire with RCCL's Special Needs if I were you.  They can maybe assign you a table out of the way so he would not be embarrassed should it happen.

Oops, didn't see all the info about special needs...

Asking for a table kind of tucked is a good idea.  When he has a hard time,, which is about 50% of thee time, he has uncontrollable hic-ups and is in pain, but then usually, he excuses himself to the bathroom and is able to finish some of his meal.  I guess I would ask for a table close to a bathroom, and guess they are all outside the main dining room, that is actually something we need to consider.

That must have been hard for your friend.  I guess we are beyond embarrassment, as we just can't stay at home and not live life, but we would absolutely hate having to have that happen and make a scene.  Thank you for your advice.

You been given good advice about contacting special needs for his dietary needs.  As a stage 4 cancer survivor myself my thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband.  My words of advice are live life to the fullest, savor every moment and never give up the fight.

Great words of advice, keep fighting the fight!

  6. My husband has stage 4 cancer, and we are trying to live life to the fullest.  He has a hard time eating meals, and has to have supplemental drinks such as high calorie boost, to maintain his weight.  He is down 60 pounds in half a year and not in a good way.  Sometimes, he can't keep the food down.  So my question is, can we take those drinks on board and though he is not able to keep food down always, would it be best to get his oncologist to write up about the possibility of him vomiting.  We don't want to get people alarmed thinking he has some kind of virus...he always makes it to a bathroom, btw, and this only happens when he eats.

  7. With everyone vaccinated on certain sailings, I don't understand why the PCR tests.  I guess better to be safe than sorry, and I appreciate all the work that is going into making cruising as safe as possible, but I think this is a bit over the top with everyone vaccinated on board. I guess the stress of "the test" right before the cruise, when there are a million other things going on in my head.

Just checked all three of our upcoming cruises and the prices are the same as they have been.  We don't follow the Royal sales or as we call them "Royals Fuzzy Math".  We check our cruise planners a few times a week so we know our crises basic price.  When we see its a good deal...We purchase it but also keep checking.  When we see another good deal we cancel and repurchase.  I cant remember every finding it on a true sale.  Most of the time we just find it when checking it weekly.

Wow, so if I bought now, and changed my mind, I could?  Or if the price goes lower, I can cancel and repurchase at the better price...Just want to make sure.

We drive from Austin on the morning of the cruise. But only Sundays so far.

stay south of the city and you shouldn’t have major problems. Just allow a bit extra time.

We are too!  Staying with my sister in Austin the night before the cruise.  Could you please tell me around how much time we should allot to driving from Austin to the cruise port?  Thank you!

  10. It has been a while, and last time I cruised I was able to use a power strip or surge protector, and I see they are no longer allowed.  We have two tablets, two cell phones, a chromebook to download pics and camera batteries, shaver that we typically charge.  What are some solutions that you've come up with to charge your many electronics in this age of "charge-ables".  Typically there are two outlets, yes?  one in the bedroom area and one in the bathroom, am I correct? Thanks in advance.

Prices are low, i would be on it with you, but we'll be on Allure already lol

Adventure is a great ship.   We were on her at the end of June....    Lots of photos there.

Sorry we'll miss you!  I just booked about an hour ago, so excited!  Have fun on Allure!

  12. So comparing cruises, I found NCL to be a bit more expensive. Is that because they are giving you all the "freebies" like open bar, WIFI, etc?  I love NCL, they are my first choice, but with my husband having cancer now, he really shouldn't drink like he used to. TIA
