Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Just finished two back to back SOLO sailings. MSC Seaside, MSC Seascape. Four sailings total in two months. And about to sail SOLO on the MSC Seashore.
  2. This e-mail notice was sent out on 9/13/2023 Brightline Orlando Station opens on Friday, September 22, 2023. Now you’re closer than ever to all the best of Florida – from Orlando’s attractions to South Florida's beaches and cruise ports.
  3. Thank you brightline. Another cancellation. What's the tru story. Is iy safe? Are the trabks not supporting high speed?
  4. We had BL booked for our cruise. Now we had to switch to Amtrak. ORL to MIA is half the BL economy (smart fare).. BL could of got us there morning of cruise day. But no BL means 5 hours on Amtrak compared to 4 hours on BL. We have two weeks on a ship. Maybe BL will FINALLY be CERTIFIED to operate by the time we return to Miami. Otherwise we have Amtrak as a backup, if need be
  5. Today's mail contained my Passport. My non-expedited applicant only took 20 weeks. Basically 5 months to get this today. I never got an e-mail from them. I had to check nearly everyday. My last check it had gone from "in process" to "Shipped" It went onto say my supporting docs will be sent seperately and I should receive them within two weeks. Guess now it is time to start packing for my upcoming cruise.
  6. Saw a couple reports on a couple major news networks a week or so ago. Members of Congress are NO LONGER able to assist in pushing the applications forward. I have my other docs as backup if need be. I have another b2b in OCT and and another b2b in NOV. So i should have the passport by those. So if need be, I have plan B that will get me on the ship. That is birth cert and state ID.
  7. So glad I still have a few weeks before my cruise. Checked my status today. Still says "in process". It is nearing five months now. Someone should announce coffee break is over. DMV is a walk in the park compared to this.
  8. I can remember when I got my first passport. Lived near Chicago. Walked into the local office in the morning. A couple hours lated, walked out with a brand new passport book. Times have changed.
  9. My personal experience with the US Passport office. My passport had expired a few years ago. Been cruising with just my BC and photo ID. Deided to apply for a passport for a repositioning sailing. Checked my status on the passport website. Still says "in process" after 4 months now. I know about the delays but come on. No I did not pay the extra for expedidated. I figured applying 6 months before should be enough time. Now I wonder
  10. Is there a catergory thread for MSC Seascape. I can't seem to find it in the MSC ship pull down tab. Maybe I just keep missing it or I'm spelling it wrong?
  11. My last cruise I prepaid the 20 item deal. On board I got a second 20 item deal. The price onboard was about the same as prepay. I was on seven b2b's on that cruise and brought five suitcases. These are just a few of the hats from one suitcases. The other suitcases had not only formal wear but many costumes for the many parties and theme nights.
  12. Can anyone direct me to a website that tells what special events or bookings are on the Seascape I ask because our cruise is five months away. Looking at multiple travel booking sites, I see our ship is almost SOLD OUT already. Looks like my sailing will at at 100%, and it is still five months away
  13. We decided to do the Brightline from Orlando to Miami. Then walk a couple blocks to he FREE prople moner and ride to the Brickell Station. Where we can transfer to the FREE Coral Way Trolley, that will drop us off at the cruise port. Plus we will do it the day of sailing. Trains run about every hour so give us time for breakfast in Orlando and lunch on the ship
  14. From the videos I have seen. And posts on the Wet Lizard facebook. They have a wooden structure. Next to the water. Wheelchair access in that bar and food area I will look up the excursion area you mentioned. And sadly transportation is always a problem for disabled folks like me. You cannot just lift a 100 pound wheelchair. Fold it up and slide it into a car or van
  15. Now that I am in a wheelchair. And traveling solo. My choices of shore excursions are very limited. I have a couple sailings upcoming that have stops in Belize. My plan, my first time is just hangout in the village. I heard the Wet Lizard is a good place for an adult beverage or two. Looking for other ideas. Any shops I should explore. Next time I might look at accessible excursions. But this first time just want to hang around the waterfront. Toss back a couple cold ones. Snap some pictures. And maybe discover that one item I must bring back to America with me
