  1. Haven't yet cruised on the Prima class. I am a little confused because it's trying to be more upscale, but still has water slides going around (and through) cabin balconies and a race track looming over the main pool!
  2. Yes, if they are traveling without a passport and their birth certificate has a different last name.
  3. Not really. We've got 5 cruises booked next year. If it was my passport expiring it would be simple because my name matches my birth certificate.
  4. My wife's passport will be expiring next year, which means we'll most likely need to travel on one cruise without her passport. It's a closed-loop US cruise. I understand she'll need her official birth certificate. Because her last name has changed, I assume we'll need to bring a marriage certificate too. Because this is our second marriage, I imagine she'll need her first marriage certificate as well. Will she also need proof of divorce? Our marriage certificate is from a foreign country (Anguilla). Will that be an issue? I may be making this more complicated than I need to, but my biggest fear is having a cruise agent refuse us at the embarkation port. Thanks all.
  5. At least you had that option. I cancelled my 9/13 cruise because it was Quebec City to NYC. There really is no alternate route. I didn't want to be in rough seas most of the way. Good luck.
  6. Seven months...really?!!! That's crazy. I'm hoping to use my (eventual) FCC on an already booked cruise in May.
  7. It's likely that I will cancel my upcoming Canada cruise due to Hurricane Lee. 😡 I have Book Safe standard which provides a 75% FCC under the "cancel for any reason" clause. My question for anyone who's ever done this is how long do you have to use the FCC and can it be used on an already booked cruise? Thanks.
  8. Moral of the story: bring some meds, wear a mask and keep your mouth shut.
  9. I guess not. https://www.cruisemapper.com/news/12305-carnival-legend-sail-san-francisco
  10. I was thinking of doing that. Did you have to surrender your passport book when applying for the passport card?
  11. This feels like prison communication. Perhaps they should call this site "Redaction Nation".
  12. My passport book will be sent for renewal between cruises and I won't have it for one or two closed-loop Caribbean cruises. Anyone here ever have an issue boarding with birth certificate? Anyone tried using a passport card? Thanks.
  13. I will be taking a cruise ship transfer from Portsmouth to Heathrow. From there I want to get to my hotel which is Premier Inn London Heathrow Airport T2 & T3 (Bath Road). I know it's a short distance, but I don't believe it's very walkable. Should I just get a taxi? Thanks.
  14. These work well, they're inexpensive and don't take up much room in your luggage. https://a.co/d/cDa3HQz
  15. Good afternoon. My wife and I are cruising from Southampton on Oct. 14. I've done a lot of online research, but I'm beginning to get paralysis by analysis. Here are our current plans: Flying into Heathrow on the morning of the 12th. Booked National Express bus from LHR to Southampton (3 hours after scheduled arrival). Staying at the Leonardo Hotel (formerly Jurys Inn) for 2 nights. I'm assuming we'll need a taxi from the bus station to the hotel, is that correct? Is the Leonardo in a decent area? Thanks all!
  16. Don't like someone being a cruise "critic"? Try another website.
  17. Hope you have better than I did. I also booked a 2025 10-day cruise on Celebrity Summit. This week they informed me that it is being cancelled so they can move the ship to Ft. Lauderdale for 7-day itineraries.
