  1. spinnaker2  Enjoying your post on the Silver Dawn. We sailed on two other luxury cruises from Barbados.... in January.    Both lacked food and drink.    No shrimp cocktail, fish of the day, salmon, Diet Coke and certain wines and champagnes.    We were told they were waiting to get back to Miami to properly restock and replenish the ship.   This happened to us before.....when sailing out of Barbados.    I'm not saying this is the same issue you're experiencing with Silversea, but seems very similar to our Cruises.

  2. Sailed on all the Cruise lines you mention above. Depends what part of Europe you are interested in sailing. Next summer in the Med I would try the New Silversea Nova. Most of the newer Fancier Ship are sailing Northern Europe and Scandinavia. Love Regent on the Splendor, not so much on the Mariner, Really enjoyed SilverMoon and SilverDawn but a bit more formal then Regent. in my opinion Seabourn Sojourn has the best Mediterranean itineraries next summer. Remember all these cruise lines are having staff shortages so don't expect things are like they were before. Good luck..

  3. Just sailed the Mediterranean on beautiful Silver Dawn, and I was pleasantly surprised how the attire was elegant casual.   At the beginning of the cruise, I wore a dark blazer jacket.   As the cruise progressed, it seemed appropriate to just wear a collared dress shirt with nice pants, for dinner, as the majority of other men were dressed.    I’m delighted to see that Silversea is now moving on with the times. Some men wore suits others dress shirts and some just collared polo’s. In my opinion everyone looked great and no one seemed to be too worried about what others were wearing. As I stated it was the Med, Very Hot! lots of new people, first time cruisers and groups of friends and family so maybe the staff wasn’t so strict on the dress code as on all my previous Silversea Cruises. It really hope it remains this way because it’s so much easier for the men!! It was a fabulous Cruise!

  4. The Splendor is having serious issues regarding dining.    During the previous, 7 day cruise, bad decisions were made about closing several specialty restaurants….on the same night!    Many guests were disappointed their reservations were cancelled or modified. It has affected the service.   Employees have been thrown off by the change in schedules and venues.

Yesterday, was a day at sea….in the North Atlantic…cold weather.    Normally, on a sea day, both Prime 7 and Chartreuse are open.     Someone in management made a choice to close Prime 7.   Chartreuse was overwhelmed and total chaos.   The servers were doing their best….but many unhappy guests.    Today, we are in the Faroe Islands….also a cold, cloudy day.    I returned from my tour at 12:45 and promptly went to Prime 7 to enjoy a champagne lunch!   The restaurant is suppose to be open from 12 to 1:30.   At 12:50, I was told the restaurant was full and closed for lunch……this was a first for me at Regent.    Again….bad decisions from management or corporate.

  5. I have an October voyage on the Splendor.   When I sail on Regent, I add AT&T’s Cruise Package for 30 days of unlimited Talk/Text.   When I called AT&T, I was told the Splendor is not on their list.   It’s the only Regent ship missing!   Has any Splendor passenger experienced the same issue?   Does Regent know when/if the Splendor will be incorporated into AT&T’s plan?

  6. I am sailing on the Splendor soon.   When I travel on Regent, I have the AT&T Cruise Talk & Text package added to my cellular line for 30 days.   When I tried to add it for the Splendor sailing, AT&T told me the Splendor has not been added to their list.   It’s the only Regent ship missing!    Has any passenger experienced the same issue.   Does anyone know if/when the Splendor will be added?
