  1. Exactly. That said, there is more than one tier to the supply/demand realm. There is supply/demand at the wholesale booze level, and there is supply/demand at the POS to the consumer. If I'm the wholesaler trying to sell more Bailey's to NCL, I may agree to a cheaper wholesale price if NCL agrees to include it in the PBP at no extra charge.
  2. Great!! That means that none of our friends here on the forum will have their cruises cancelled because of this. There just has to be better options.
  3. Bravo! If I had crappy (or no) insurance, I might invest more mental energy. Fortunately (thank God), I have access to good insurance and an outstanding Doctor (I only have access to her because she changed networks years ago and there was about a ten minute period where new patients were being accepted). I think some folks are just big babies who are afraid of needles. 🤣
  4. Is this actually required? I have done this myself, but I thought that it was all just in their computer (i.e. they take my keycard, input the "platinum" free dinner claim and it's deducted from my balance of free platinum or above meals.)
  5. Do you need to put the coupon in the bag? Our steward left us an additional bag and laundry request stamped "platinum" and I've since learned that with two of us in the room, we can write "platinum" on the one in the closet and each get a free bag of laundry. Is this how others are doing it?
  6. Reading this thread made me want a drink. See my avatar.... Cheers!
  7. I have. After decades of "research" I've concluded that there is a lot of inaccurate, made-up crap on the internet.
  8. That may well be, but it doesn't mean that NCL's agreements with their suppliers need to reflect that. Flavored Vodka is crap, but marketed like it is something special. That's a different marketing scenario than going toe-to-toe with other suppliers of good Vodka for the vast majority of ship revenue. If NCL includes their product in the drink package, they will sell tons. If they price it even $1 higher, they likely won't. It's all business, and it doesn't have to make sense to the average consumer. NCL: "hey Bailey's supplier, I'll include your product in our standard package if you sell it to me 10% cheaper" Booze distributor: "nah, pound sand" NCL: "we'll do that and talk to you again when you aren't happy with how much less we're buying from you" Wash, rinse, repeat.
  9. Why do you think that gift shop prices have anything to do with this? I'm guessing that NCL negotiates bulk purchase prices based upon many factors, including the non-gift shop POS pricing. For every bottle sold in the gift shop, there are likely dozens, hundreds,...... consumed on the cruise.
  10. Wow. Now "dope" causes cancer? The hits keep coming. Somebody just made that up...
  11. This one is simple. Passenger one grabs a beverage at the buffet bar and kicks back at a table of choice while everybody else grabs their food. What am I missing?
  12. Narc alert!!!! I'm guessing that you aren't very popular at parties?
  13. Thanks. That's different. I know that some people insist upon having copies of their prescriptions to board a cruise ship (I believe it's the same ones who attach two luggage tags to each bag), but I just don't think that makes sense for most common prescriptions. They can audit my pill container all they want. Nobody is going to jail for "possession of statins."
  14. How do you carry your 90 day prescription home from the pharmacy?
  15. I'm guessing that most here "don't do dope." The question was about medical marijuana which has been proven to be safe and effective for some chronic conditions, likely MUCH safer than some of the more traditional drugs. If you don't have such a need, then you should be very thankful.
  16. It is most certainly just an observation.
  17. Finally, a thread about something truly important!!! Several years ago, Epic had NewCastle on tap at O'Shehans and I could also get cans of Guinness Draught (the ones with the widget) at the pool bar. I couldn't get either last fall. This year, I was able to get Guinness on tap in the District on the Encore. I really want to see that continue.
  18. I would set the DVR back home and not worry about catching the first quarter. Sure, if you can get an earlier reservation, great! If not, my rule is cruise first, NFL second (and I'm a huge NFL fan).
  19. Yep. I've seen a LOT of evidence of excess capacity on NE cruises.
  20. Hey, I just learned something new!! Only "white guys from Michigan" built the Alaskan pipeline. That just seem weird!
