Does World Navigator offer any fitness classes on non polar cruises? Thank you.

@Jridouthank you for this information. Super helpful. We currently pre-booked taxi bit now I’m thinking we should take the Flytojet. I’m just not clear if it’s within walking distance from the pier.
How did you enjoy your cruise? This is our first time sailing with Atlas.

Thanks for the replies. We will be disembarking from the Atlas Navigator. Small ship of around 200 people. Hopefully, this will be quick. Also, flying to AMS, so within Schengen. We will look into the train option. Thanks again!

Does anyone have experience in disembarkation in Oslo? Our ship is scheduled to arrive at 8:00am and our flight is at 11:50am. In your experience, will we be able to make this flight? We have pre-booked transportation. TYIA

When is the formal night on a 7-night cruise, typically?

We took a cab that we found in Vodice. It was pretty easy. We spent the day in Sibenik exploring on our own. We likely missed some of the history in doing so, but we thoroughly enjoyed our day in spite of the rain! We walked up to one of the fortresses and enjoyed the history. Found a great little local place for lunch and beer in an alley, and just enjoyed the city. It was really very enjoyable.
When we felt it was time to give ourselves cushion for our return, (I think the drive time was 15-20 min), we walked out to the central part outside of the old town (it will make sense when you arrive), we grabbed another taxi back. We dinked around Vodice for a bit, but honestly not a lot there to be honest. It was a throughly enjoyable day. Go for it!Thank you so much for this information. This is exactly what we would like to do. We have so many excursions planned in the other ports that we really just wanted a day to wander around on our own. Thanks again!

@Vineyard Viewhow did you end up getting to Sibenik from Vodice? We will be there in April and would like to do the same thing.

We are booked on this cruise and noticed on Sunday that it disappeared from the website. Interestingly, the July 3, 2024 RT Reykjavik cruise is listed twice. Our TA called Atlas and was told it must be a system glitch and they would have it fixed ASAP. Seems like a valid explanation but four days have gone by and it's not fixed. I'm getting concerned. Am I being paranoid?

Thank you. Great information and makes perfect sense.

We are on an Iceland/Norway Fjords cruise in July and wondering if the kayaks and other water toys will be available for use? Also, do they get the zodiacs out for tours? I've called Atlas and they were not sure. Thanks for any information!

We were in 631 (Navigator) last year in Antartica and enjoyed the extra space and good views. I would go for this cabin on any sailing in areas where temps would limit sitting outside. No issue with noise. The overhand from the zodiac storage was an advantage as the drop down window was protected when we opened it during snow showers. I would chose deck 6 over deck 5 for that reason. When I did want to get out it is just a few steps to the aft sundeck which has cover as well.
Thank you.

We are considering booking a Horizon Stateroom on deck 6 on the Iceland/Norway Treasures cruise in July. I'm concerned with noise above from the zodiac storage room. Has anyone who has stayed in one of these cabins on deck 6 experienced noise from above? I'm not even sure if they will use the zodiacs on a non-polar cruise. Also, I would welcome any opinions on horizon vs veranda on this type of itinerary. We think we prefer the extra room that the horizon stateroom offers. Thank you!

Anyone have insights on when Solis appears on the Encore?
I believe they plan on being ready for the April 29 cruise. We are on that sailing and have a reservation at Solis for May 1.

It’s a very different trip, so kind of an apples to oranges comparison.
It doesn’t visit any of mainland Iceland, so if you wanted to see any of the famous sights in Iceland, you’d need to plan some pre-cruise exploration.
Geiranger is the only traditional fjord scenery on this cruise. Kristiansund is a less-visited coastal town, probably most similar to Ålesund on the other trips (but without the art deco architecture).
The second half of the trip is focused on the Arctic coast with what looks to be two days in the stunning Lofoten Islands (Reine and Leknes, according to Scenic’s website, which are actually quite close to one another). Lofoten has long been considered by Norwegians to be the most beautiful part of the country (yes, even above the fjords) and has become more famous since the rise of Instagram. It looks like they’re hoping to use Eclipse’s on-board helicopter to offer flightseeing trips (weather-permitting) which I imagine could be breathtaking. The trip ends in Tromsø, which is a lovely Arctic coastal city surrounded by mountains and probably the most famous Arctic cruise port.
If you’re specifically looking for Norwegian fjords, this probably isn’t the best choice. But if you just want a taste of the fjords along with a variety of other beautiful scenery, this could be a good choice.
Great information. Thank you for taking your time to give so many details. I think my husband is drawn to the Scenic ship. It does sound like it would be an amazing trip but I was really wanting to do the Norwegian Fjords. Thanks again for you great input.

They both look like great trips. I like that they emphasize Norway (which is a better cruising destination) but give you a taste of Iceland (for perhaps a future land based Iceland trip.)
I would vote for the first. 2 long Fjords plus more daylight. The sail into the Fjords is beautiful, but sunrise time can be important. As an example, if you dock in Flam at 7 am, you could be entering the Fjord at 4 am or so. I would get up at sunrise (maybe 5 am in July ?) to enjoy the scenery. More daylight in the evening doesn't hurt either.
Have fun....

Thank you for your very detailed comments on these itineraries. Sounds like we can't go wrong with either one. My husband has thrown in another option on the Scenic Eclipse.Very different. Would love your thoughts on this one too. TIA!

Looking for some help deciding on choosing an itinerary for a 2024 Norwegian/Iceland cruise. There are two itineraries that we are interested in on Atlas World Cruises. The first itinerary covers both Geiranger and Flam, which would be great, but the date of the second itinerary works better for us. Also, would love feedback on Atlas from anyone who has sailed with them. Thanks!

Yes, we received our "Your Final Cruise Documents" via email from our Travel Agent on Sunday 16th July. The attached 4 page PDF doesn't really contain anything new other than a fairly generic statement saying a welcome letter will be provided at hotel checkin for the night before the charter flight (i.e. no flight details were given). All the hotel details are as already shown on the my.silversea.com website. Embarkation time onto the ship is shown as 1pm - 3pm.
Having tracked the two charter flights on Saturday 15th July from London and New York to Kangerlussuaq the departure times were:
10:00am (from London Stansted, flight time was 4hrs 15 mins), and
09:00am (from JFK - although it left 2:30hrs late landing at 5:30pm local time).
We are very much looking forward to the cruise, see you onboard!
Thank you so much for this great information. I will contact my TA regarding our final documents.
See you onboard! -
Has anyone who is booked on this sailing received their final documents yet? I imagine we will receive charter flight information at the hotel but thought we would have received final documents by now.

- A friend of mine sailed on the Endeavour when it was owned by Crystal and was in cabin 663. It had a great balcony. All glass…no metal. I’ve taken a screenshot of the ship and circled the balcony of cabin 663. I would imagine 668 is the same. One thing to note though is that it is at the end of the hall next to the door that leads to the upper level of The Grill. He said that he was never bothered by noise.

Thank you all for the responses. So far I'm very impressed with Silversea. Can't wait!
