Bring Euro notes with you. Cards are Widley accepted but not everywhere - Taxi's for example. USD is not accepted off the boat and will result in confusion in europe if you try to pay with $

The sailing date has to be by March 31 2025

There was no sail way from Rome when we departed from there, only other thing that was different was we got an orange seapass card because of the interporting which we were asked about a lot by other guests, and our room was ready way before 1pm- we just went along not long after getting onboard to see if it was ready and it was. A rough guess by the amount of orange cards I saw I'd say 70-75% got on at BCN.

Removing pre paid gratuities while on the ship
gavvy replied to Vampiress88's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There was a thread on this a few weeks ago and a link to a person on I think Reddit who was a barman on Oasis, and he confirmed this was correct - they are guaranteed a minimum but the tips make up that minimum first then everything thereafter was an extra, It was done on the amount of drinks punched into the till or something. No server works just for tips as such- they are guaranteed a basic. - Thats if the person was to be believed of course. It's important to remember that the roles are seen as very good jobs compared to their home countries, they earn in a few months what they can earn in a year back home -
The amended invoice came through this morning with a 0.00 balance so all good now!
-
Maybe it's because I'm from the UK and called the UK number? Previously I had the invoice straight away when I called the USA number but it took a day or so for the reservation to link online. Today it linked straight away. The helpline were insisting this is normal and I will get a new invoice when the casino has taken the balance off. Maybe the UK casino helpline isn't actually the casino and they book it then pass it over to them?...who knows!
-
Well I rang them back and they said the balance goes off to another department and takes up to 7 days to get an amended invoice showing the balance comped. Odd!
-
Is it normal for the invoice to show a balance on a comped cruise, I don't think I had one like this before, its showing the full cost of the cruise and the taxes I paid as a deposit
-
And it just popped up - booked a med cruise on oasis this September!

Shame Rome sailings are mostly excluded, I'm hoping my certificate will pop up on club royal today so I can book something

Removing pre paid gratuities while on the ship
gavvy replied to Vampiress88's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Actually you are right- just made a dummy booking and it let me select. Last year when I made a booking i was forced to pre-pay tips so it must have changed since then. Maybe RCL are holding the OP to the original terms if they booked when it was mandatory to prepay on MTD - or hes been told wrong info by RCL....as if that would ever happen! -

If you booked in UK and don't want to pre-pay the only other option is to ask to switch to MTD as soon as you board. It will be subject to availability. -

If you book direct in UK then for MTD you still have to pre-pay. There was a thread like this a few weeks ago, lots of noise on it but the consensus was you can't remove prepay tips once on board, though there was at least one person saying you could. I would remove them now to avoid hassle if possible. -
But those ships are too big to sink.. right 🙂
-
Do you have a blue light card? I know there was a blanket discount on almost all bookings with that.
-
There are so many reasons why someone could miss the ship - not all of them are the persons fault either. I think regardless its a horrible situation to be in and I can't help feeling sorry for them, it's my worst nightmare having that happen to me.
-
Its just a few and they are easy to ignore. Most are still helpful and constructive.

Adults only now means adults only

I think this is true, it doesn't help that end of cruise survey is taken and used for 'training' I'm sure no crew wants to be mentioned negatively in one of those. It's all RCL doing really- they have the staff and means to deal with these things if they really want to.
