Flying in two days early. My sister and I plan to spend the time just walking around and sightseeing. It is such a nice walkable city from what I have seen watching some YouTube videos.

Happy Wednesday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports. Woke up to a sunny 45 degrees today. Love this coolness. Fancy, however, does not. Goes out to do her business and comes running back in. Maybe she needs a sweater. I have an appointment to get my hair cut and colored today. Then it is back to grading assignments. 35 days until my cruise and 2 weeks until I can check into the cruise. 36 days out. All set and ready to go. Starting to think about what to wear and pack. There are things that I am putting together so that I can just toss them in the luggage. I was a little worried about the pending Air Canada pilot strike as both legs of my flights with United are on Air Canada. After some research, the leg from Philadelphia to Toronto will not be impacted as that plane is operated by a division on a separate union contract. I may need to figure out how to get from Toronto to Quebec City. There are options. This would be the last hurdle, and I hope that the union can get a deal. I also keep checking the temperature which look good. I should be able to check in to the cruise in a few weeks.

Happy Tuesday. Thanks for the daily and Fleet reports. It is so wonderful waking up to temps in the 40s. The sun is shining as well. Took Fancy to the park yesterday and did a couple of laps on the mile 1/2-mile track. Fancy slowed down as we were finishing due to her short little legs and the extra weight she carries. My sister and I promised her more park time. Back to working on my classes. I did apply for graduation and waiting to hear back. I had to apply about a quarter before actual graduation. I am hoping that once I graduate, I can be elevated to full time faculty at one of the universities that I teach so I can get benefits. I plan to keep my clinical practice as well. Happy Monday and happy Labor Day. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports. I sent off a clean copy of my dissertation to my committee for review. I am sure that there will be edits so I will patiently wait. I hope to be graduating in January. It is a little bittersweet. I have been working on this dissertation for years. I worked on it through a pandemic, the deaths of my sister and brother, and establishing my counseling practice. It kind of became a part of me. I spent hours on weekends writing it. There were times where I needed a break from it. And now it is finished. Won't know what to do with myself. It has to go through my committee review, a form and style review (checking the actual writing), an oral defense in front of my committee, then it gets reviewed by the chief academic officer of the university, then published in ProQuest. And then I graduate. It is almost like sending your child off into the world. Anyway, taking Fancy to the park today and enjoying the time off. Happy Anniversary to @Quartzsite Cruiser! Happy Friday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports. I can breathe just a little. No meetings, clients, or classes today. Scheduled for a massage. The best news is that I will finally have the first draft of my dissertation completed today. Then it goes off to review by my dissertation committee. There were several times where I needed to step away from it. The end is in sight finally. I intend to relax a bit this Labor Day weekend. Thinking of all on the care list. 41 days out. This is the toughest time for any cruise, the waiting. I have everything set up and I keep checking to make sure everything is good to go. I have a car service taking my sister and I to the airport. We are flying out of Philadelphia. The only issue is that although we are flying with United, our planes are Air Canada and the pilots for Air Canada voted to strike. So, there's that. The hotel in Quebec has been confirmed. We are within walking distance from the port. We have booked specialty dining at Cagney's (embarkation day), La Cucina, and Le Bistro. Never ate at Le Bistro. We have a few excursions booked. Boarding is all set for the pets. Not much else to do but wait.

After a busy day yesterday, I get a bit of a break. Just have two clients and a class. Fancy is very happy that I am working fully at home now. She likes to come into my office and sleep next to me as I work. Tomorrow, I have scheduled a massage. 41 days until my cruise. I will be doing a live. The ship is the NCL Sky. As I write this, I am on YouTube watching the Volendam come into Saguenay, Quebec. Looks like a beautiful sunny day there. YouTube has the Saguenay and Quebec City port cams. Here I am again. Now at 49 days out. Getting closer! I believe I should be able to check in on September 18th. Everything is in place. I have been looking at videos and travel guides for the ports I will be visiting. This will be a great trip. My sister and I are determined not to let anything mess with our cruise. Things might go wrong. My mantra will be "Oh well". The last thing that I will be doing is getting vaccinated for the flu and COVID two weeks before we go at my doctor's recommendation. I am ready!

I get to check in 21 days out which brings me to September 18th. Thats even closer. My plan is to get a COVID and flu shot before I leave. My doctor recommended two weeks before. Taking my vitamins to build up my immune system. I have a slower day than the last two. I have to finish a consulting project I am working on. Then start grading assignments for two classes. I am blessed to be able to do what I do and work on my terms. I like the freedom. I also like to keep busy with different things. Thinking of all on the care list.
