  1. Matter of personal preference.   We like space and have chosen the Explorer suite several times.

We we like to spend off time in our cabin comfortably.  The views are lovely.  Also like the perks like room service breakfast before the early morning tours and the coffee maker.

The Suites are nice too - giving you a separate sleeping area.

Again, Study the diagrams of the ships and look at the sqft & room layout

  2. We have booked the OS for next year.  Is the beverage package included?

If you select a wine from the wine cellar in the suite are your charged extra?  I'm a bit confused on this amenity.   Looks like fun.

    It is my husband's 80th

We love Viking and the British cruise we chose. ALL tibs appreciated.

  3. We really enjoy the Explorer suites on Viking.  Luxurious - not "fancy"    The wrap-around view from the sitting area is perfect.  The extra amenities are few:   unlimited laundry and room service for breakfast.

Private airport transfers are really nice !

We do spend time in the suite and enjoy space in the bathroom

  4. I felt that the included tours gave a good over-view of the areas.  If an additional tour takes you to a place you are interested in - go for it.  The ship is usually "right there" so being on your own is super easy.  Of course you can always break off from the organized tour and continue on your own.

You do need to reserve the included tours on-line pre-cruise just like the paid-for tours

    @CwazeAndCwaze A few additional thoughts:

    * swap the Welcome Champagne for anything else you prefer
    * all complimentary wines are available every day, just ask for what you'd like
    * grab a seat at the Sky Bar for sailaway on embarkation day
    * TK Grill Bar is great spot for pre-dinner cocktails
    * Caviar in the Pool is a ton of fun
    * try the TK Napa Burger and TK Yountwurst at the Patio Grill
    * have dinner at Earth & Ocean.  Fab menu.  Go early as it fills up fast
    * don't miss the Galley Lunch, if still offered
    * don't miss Chef's Dinner in The Restaurant
    * don't miss Officers on Deck party on final nite before disembarkation
    * accept dinner invites to hosted tables in The Restaurant at least once
    * Sushi is worth a visit on Encore/Ovation.  Menu on formal nites is quite special
    * souffles in The Restaurant are usually excellent
    * house made gelato is pretty decent
    * SB breadsticks are legendary and addictive
    * special order any meal with 24+ hour notice
    * sign up early for Shopping with the Chef, if offered
    * purchase an FCD while onboard to get 5% discount on future cruise

Finally, resist the natural temptation to compare and contrast everything to Crystal.  Just appreciate the differences and enjoy Seabourn for what it is.

On the Ovation now.  Tell us about the Chef's dinner.   Saw  information on it but only listed the wines.  Since it s in the Restaurant is the menu the same as that being served to everyone or is it special for the Chef's Dinner

I was going to wait until the end of the cruise to address this. I want to start by saying we really love the Seabourn experience.

All of our breakfasts have been great as well as almost all the lunches we have had in the colonnade, patio and the sushi restaurant.

Unfortunately we have not been impressed with the dinners in The Restaurant or Earth and Ocean. It isn’t the type of food as the menus mostly sound good, it is the quality and taste. We have had much better food on Oceania and Celebrity. We have heard from numerous others, including Platinum and Diamond members that they feel the same way about many of the dishes.

I also want to mention the Maitre D’s and waiters have done everything they can to make us happy by trying other items as well offering to make us anything we want the next evening. Dinner in TK Grill both nights was excellent so I honestly am not sure what is going on with The Restaurant. It won’t discourage us from booking Seabourn again and I still have hope it may get better with 6 nights to go.

What time are the evening shows?   Last time we were on SB the shows were always at 9:30
