Go to the part where it says select a different sailing. Does it say “my sailing” in a little banner on the top right? If not, your account may not be linked to your reservation. The app allows you to pull up anyone’s reservation but options are more limited if it’s not “my sailing”.

Yup, it has that.  Just no check in button

  2. Hello,   So I did our check in today for our Alaska cruise next month and I can see the boarding pass on the computer, but it says to download the app to view digital boarding passes and to complete the rest of our check in requirements showing proof of vaccination.

I have downloaded the app, but I don't see either our boarding pass or where we would submit vaccine info.  HELP??

Would love to know how it goes. We fly to San Diego April 30 and sail on Celebrity Millennium May 3. Looking at all our options for testing. We have several boxes of the green box test kits. My husband tested positive March 27 and now negative so he should be fine and I the whole time in close quarters with him continued to test negative.

My husband also tested positive late March and has recovered, but I also never tested positive.  Weird.

We used the little green box provided by the Canadian government and did the tests ourselves at home while being observed by a Telehealth professional through rapid test canada. Sailed two weeks ago on NCL, provided the report that we got from rapid test Canada and boarded the ship! The Telehealth service cost $40CAD and the test kit was provided free by government

Is there a printed paper you have to provide?  Just wondering if we do it in Vancouver we wouldn't have printer access.  TIA

You're welcome.  Now I have a question for you.  Where in Vancouver are you planning on getting tested prior to boarding your cruise?  The only place I can think of is YVR however, were staying downtown for 2 nights. I know there is a thread on this however, your trip is coming up soon and that why I'm asking.  Thanks

We were thinking of doing an online observed rapid test.  But I am still looking into what our best option is, and since this are still constantly changing, I am still waiting to decide what route to go.  Was hoping to also see what others on Vancouver departures are doing before us as ships should be sailing in April.

    Just my thoughts;

I would rent a car from one of the airport kiosks.

The cost of an Uber which is cheaper than a taxi and there are 3 pick up locations at YVR, to take you over the Sea Island Bridge to other car rental locations which I doubt are much cheaper, wouldn't be worth it to me. All rental prices have gone up recently, the explanations being supply issues.

If you do want to try, look at google maps just off the Sea Island Way for more local suppliers.

Cruise port to airport depending on luggage quantity & ability, take the sky train. To get from Waterfront Station Canada Line @ Platform 2 to Vancouver Airport (YVR) takes 26 min  and departs every 10 minutes. Here is the link.  Note it is the Canada Line you want  https://www.translink.ca/schedules-and-maps/skytrain. Otherwise again I would do Uber.

Hotels are expensive in Vancouver, which is where I assume you want to stay. The Pan Pacific is a great hotel right at the dock. About $330 a night mid May. Auberge $250, Days Inn $199 Rosewood $391, Century Plaza $186. They are all in the main Vancouver downtown area. Again Google Maps would help with location for where you would prefer to stay.

Thank you so much, that is all super helpful and will give me something to research the next few days.  ❤️

  8. We have an Alaska cruise booked May 22, 2022 and are flying in from Ottawa 4 days early.  Looking for suggestions for renting a car that may not be airport rental prices.  Also suggestion for a hotel for the night before cruise.  Finally, best way to get from cruise port to Airport post cruise (we fly out day after).  TIA

How are you DIY'g ..... rental car, RV, bus,  train, bus and train ?  and for how long?

If it's just a 3 day trip to/from Denali, all you need is the Denali web site, the park reservation site, and Chamber of Commerce.

    https://www.nps.gov/dena/index.htm

    https://www.reservedenali.com/

    http://www.denalichamber.com/

If you look near the top of this page, there are hundreds of past trip reports you can review.  Some of them include DIY land travel pre or post cruise.  Usually the first line of the report will say so.  Travellers generally include info on sights, activities, lodging, vendors, etc so they're a great resource.

For land travel, trip advisor is the best resource.  Go the Alaska forum and look under TOP QUESTIONS and you'll find past trip reports.

If youre planning on a week of DIY, there are a lot of resources listed in this Resource link, but don;t overlook your library .... borrow Alaska travel books to learn about the various destinations and decide which areas best fit your interests and priorities.

Thank you.  We haven't decided how long yet, but from 3-7 days.   What we do and how long would influence modes of transportations.  Thanks for the info, it's a starting point for sure.

  10. Early stages of planning for an Alaska cruise in May or June 2021 for my husband and my 50th birthdays.  We want to do a land portion (Denali) before the cruise and are wondering if anyone has used specific resources they found particularly helpful?  Website, books, etc.   Also, any suggestions for MUST see places or day trips would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

  11. Looking into Alaska cruises and when I do a search, it brings up a 10 nt Family Tundra Express tour and the price is crazy cheap.  It says it's for the July 12 sailing, but when you try and book it it brings up an August date.  I first noticed this on the weekend and it still hasn't changed.  I am assuming it's an error and Royal wouldn't honour the price even though it's on their website, is that correct?

There is an Enterprise walking distance from the port in Maui. The Hertz is a bit farther but someone posted a video showing it as walkable too.

Wondering where exactly the ship docks in Maui and where the car rental would be?

  13. My husband and I celebrate our 25th in Nov. 2019. We are thinking of going to New Zealand for our celebration vacation. I am looking for suggestions on resources to research what we would most want to see/do in NZ.

Also, is November a good time of year to go? Can you swim in the ocean at that time?

Can we see enough during a cruise or is a land based extension a must? And if so, would North or South Island be recommended?

    Thanks in advance
