Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. nope, never had it served infront of me, the stone will be in the middle or to the side of the table, with a proper plate infront of you
  2. every days a school day!!!!! after quite a few cruises this one was the first time we found out about square toast at breakfast, so much better than standard
  3. come to think of it we wondered what the smell was sometimes in the stairwells, we were A deck mid forward, you are so right about the salt pots, dont think i found any of them working, try the retreat next time, makes the trip worthwhile
  4. we were on this cruise, i would have to disagree about the standard of the food ,in the mdr and the horizon it is just about acceptable for mass catering, as for the others, come on P & O dont kid yourselves or your guests that the food is gourmet quality, very much style over substance, i would love to know what, in the epicurean, the [sharing experience] on the menu, of ribeye stake is, only to be served very thin and overcooked individual tomahawk steaks, the maitre d could not explain the sharing bit, also i cannot grasp the concept of the fillet? steak on the hot lava stone either, in the beach house, not a great idea putting a red hot stone in front of you, spitting all over your shirt, and when the steak is cooked to your taste, where do you put that to rest a while, quite often the menu description was nothing like what was served up to you, all the food was edible, no more no less, i quite agree the drinking does get out of hand, thank goodness we booked the retreat for the duration of the cruise but even there the staff there were not up to the standards of our previous cruises also even on the ship excursions they need to look at the drinking problem, persons overboard on one of our trips, thankfully the crew did their job in the rescue but 30 seconds more in the water might have been a different outcome on our first couple of cruises with P & O we were disappointed because of the hype from them, now we know what to expect, we have a different mindset and accept what they are offering for the amount they are charging, simple as that, did we have a good time, yes, will we do it again, yes
  5. we have to pay the balance/cancel/rebook in a couple of weeks time for 2nd December fly/ cruise, anybody been on lately, or is on the britannia at the moment, would love to know how things are at the moment regarding service, staff levels, food etc. and any restrictions still having to follow, this will be our first cruise since december 19, also to the caribbean
  6. just had it confirmed today that the serenity area is still free but the cabanas in that area are "a little extra" they do not know yet how much for how long
  7. it has three different areas stated, the retreat, the oasis and the serenity, all of which say "a little extra" we have booked the cruise and also purchased the 2 week pass for the retreat at the same time, i was told that we will be able to use the serenity area as well as the spa included in the price of the retreat deal, the rep on the phoned was a bit vague as to whether if you did not have this deal you could use the serenity area free of charge, it will not matter to us as we have the deal, but having been on the britannia a few times before and always used this area foc, it would pxss us off if we only found that out when onboard
  8. just looking at the p & o web site and it now shows that there is " a little extra " for the use of this area, is this true
