We are booked on the 9th August sailing out of Southampton with the eclipse on 12th August at A Coruna.

I understand that the ship stays late in port that evening, and assume there will be an excursion out of the town for us to photograph the eclipse?

Hi, I’m also booked on that sailing.   I understood that we will see the eclipse as we sail away from port.

“ When the moon moves across the sun, you could be on Queen Anne, departing the sunny Spanish port of La Coruña in the early evening. Spend your day strolling the Spanish streets, taste tapas in La Coruña's Old Town, or visit the Tower of Hercules, an ancient site situated at the top of the cliffs, for a beautiful view. Then return to your ship, and bask in the fading sun on Queen Anne's deck with a cocktail, sunglasses at the ready for prime eclipse viewing as you sail out of port. A perfect day.“

I’m sure looking forward to it !

I just asked my DW and she’s pretty sure they had a bathroom in the small building that was down near the beach where they offered snacks, coffee and tea. I personally didn’t use it, but she’s pretty sure there was one in there.

Hi, Ken.  Yes, your DW is correct, I remember seeing one in the refreshment building.

Thanks again for an awesome Live report.

  3. @Ken the cruiser, love the pictures from your Stanley Excursion!  I opted for shorter Gentoo Penguins tour, as unsure about 4x4 roughness.   It was perfect for those wanting a less strenuous pace.  About 15-20 minute 4x4 only.  I hope you don’t mind if I share a few photos?  To let people know it was a good tour?  We saw hundreds of Gentoo and 1 King penguin.

How does this work?  I am on waitlist for an excusion.  Will they email me or do I have to log into my account every day to see if it is avaliable?

I was on an excursion waitlist a few weeks ago.   One night I received an email from Princess - an updated booking summary showing money owed.  It was for the cleared excursion.  The letter advised I had 48 hours to pay for the excursion.

    good luck!

Many people talk about how loud CocoCay is. Our go-to spot is by the pool, close enough to hear the DJ music, walking distance from the Oasis Bar… and I don’t find it loud there at all. I also don’t find the beaches loud although I’ve never really spent time at South Beach.

I don’t mind loud music outside, but inside is a different story.  I was on Harmony 2 months ago, and the music in the production shows in the theater was  LOUD. I finally walked out of 2 different shows.  Tried lower level for one, and upper level for other.

Is there a good section of the theater to sit where the volume isn’t outrageous ?  Anyone else find the sound crAzy loud?

  6. Hi, Princess cruisers,

Recently took advantage of drop and go low fare for a cruise on February 5. .  Naturally, only a few excursion# remained open, so I booked what I could.  As spots became open on tours I had on my wish list, I canceled booked tours on the Princess website .  Then purchased tours I preferred. Canceled 4, plus a debarkation tour/transfer.

i never received email confirmation of the cancellations. Is this normal on Princess?  When should I expect to see refunds?  I assume like other lines, the refund should automatically be refunded to original form of payment?  I’ve cruised Princess in the past, but this is the first time I’ve dealt with purchased items that I have canceled pre-cruise.  I tried offshore center customer service, but didn’t get any advice.

    thanks for any info,

    Dang, it's cold; right now it's -35C (-31F) and we're only expecting a high of -32 (-25).  And it's snowing, and there's a wind, bringing the windchill factor to -45 again . . . for those not accustomed to Celsius/Fahrenheit, that's -49F.

Oh my goodness, I can’t imagine!
@ger_77 I hope you stay warm!

In addition to prayers for our Care List, Praying all in the deep freeze stay safe and have warm shelter!

Have a nice Saturday, everyone.  Give someone a hug and a smile.
