  1. So today was the day for the float out ceremony! They were already filled the pool before the event, propably during last night. They fired a cannon too at the end of the ceremony, which you can see in the third photo if you look very closely 😄 they might start to move the ship tonight. Tug 'Saturn' is currently on its way to the shipyard, the rest of the tugs comes from the Port of Turku.

I think @Eremita85  mentioned he was a friend of his that also takes photos at the shipyard.

Yep, we are quite often taking photos together, but this time I went alone to take photos of the installation of the dome, because I wanted to get a photos from several different locations and it's easier to get to those places with my bicycle than with his car. Also the lifting itself took so long to even start and he left home early because it was pretty windy and cold. I missed the next day's morning photos, which he went to take alone while I was still sleeping after my long night photo session 😄

That is a big gaff on my part.  I have not been a frequent follower of this thread.

Had I seen the photo you just posted I would not had made my comment earlier. I was looking only which Lloyd shared, to which showed a frame structure being lowered by a crane. To me, it appeared to have no glass in it.

That being said, the image you just shared with me clearly will be lowered onto the ship at some point, with the glass intact.  As I said before, it was my mistake. I guess I should follow this thread more closely as she is getting closer to completion.

No problem 👍 yes they have the dome itself and the structure for lifting the dome. This looks to be the hardest lifting operation they have ever done.
