  1. We booked a forward facing cabin for our Alaska cruise. Although it states on Princess website that the balcony can only be used in port, our Princess Vacation Planner says it it usable at all times. Has anyone had any experience with whether the balcony is usable at all times or not? Thanks
  2. correcting the date..it's the 9th..too many dates floating around in my head🤭
  3. same here....they didn't even look at our just asked if we filled it out!
  4. This is on the Ininerary - RAIL: DENALI TO WHITTIER Direct-to-the-Wilderness Rail Service: Denali to Whittier Your travel time to Whittier is approximately 9 1/4 hours (295 miles) with the train scheduled to depart Denali National Park at 8:15 a.m. and arrive in Whittier at 6:00 p.m. Please have your cruise documents and passport in your possession and ready for your arrival in Whittier. Also, please note that luggage storage on the train is limited to the area immediately beneath your feet. Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase while on the train. My question...is luggage brought to the cruise ship via a truck or is their a baggage car on the train? I doubt we are expected to lug all our luggage on the train and store it under out feet. Does anyone have a photo of the train? Thanks
  5. thanks so much...I didn't realize the train ride was 10 hours...oh my goodness!
  6. Thanks. We were on the Princess Discovery last year and the laundry and detergent were free!!
  7. Yes, Princess Magestic. Thanks...that makes packing so much easier.
  8. Are NICE jeans acceptable in the dining rooms and is the self laundry still free? Thanks
  9. try this https://alaskanativetour.com/ they will build a tour around your preferences.
  10. Thanks for posting this. We are on the Magestic 9/10/23 out of Whittier and I didn't see anything about covid testing even though we end up our cruise in Vancouver.
  11. We are doing the first one you did starting out in Anchorage. How was the train ride? I read someplace and can't find where I read it, that Princess passengers were seated in the dome car. Was this the case with you?
  12. Thanks, that's what we did. Our Princess Vacation planner is great. She told us the difference in on you own and the tour...so we took the tour. Meals are not included in either.
  13. Wonderful...can't wait to read about your experience. Everything I have read about it and the people we talked to highly recommended it!
  14. You are very welcome...we booked our cruise tour this afternoon on The Majestic 9-6-23/9-16-23 and booked with https://wildbearsafari.com/ on 9-12-23...we are so excited.
  15. We were in ISP last year and took a ride into Hoonah. We spoke to the people that run https://wildbearsafari.com/ and wish we had known about them before we booked other excursions via Princess. We will be booking this when we go back in September In addition to the likely sighting of Brown bears we will also encounter other wildlife, such as: Sitka Black Tailed Deer, Bald Eagles, Waterfowl, Beavers, Minx, Martens, Ravens and often we see Humpback Whales from the city dock.
  16. Again I am so grateful to all who responded..I am taking notes. I love everyone views based on their personal experiences.
  17. thanks to each and everyone one of you. I really appreciate all your input, suggestions and recommendations. The Connoisseur tours are not in our budget. As long as the transportation and lodging is paid for in your cruise tour package it looks like food is the only thing not covered? What other transportation? I will take K's suggestion and also check the Alaskan board !
  18. thanks...so meals and and anything else is on your own dollar!
  19. Thanks, I signed on every time and still can't get the cruise details....will wait and try again😔
  20. I am trying to get information on an Alaska crusie tour next September. On Princess website once I choose a date, etc and click on cruise details to get info it never shows anything. We are thinking about land and then cruise. Anyone who has done this please share your thoughts, recommendations etc. Some say 10-Day On Your Own, Tour ABX, Anchorage to Vancouver, Canada..what does on your own mean? This is what we are looking at. Sept. 6th 2023 - Land first (3 days), followed by cruise (7 days) 4 Land Destinations: FairbanksDenali Princess Wilderness Lodge Mt. Mckinley Princess Wilderness Lodge Whittier 5 Ports: Anchorage (Whittier), AlaskaHubbard Glacier (Scenic Cruising), AlaskaGlacier Bay National Park (Scenic Cruising), Alaska Icy Strait Point, AlaskaJuneau, AlaskaKetchikan, AlaskaVancouver, Canada
