  1. Please tell us more about the fight--what was the apparent cause?
  2. This response makes you seem like a nasty and vile (and not particularly bright) individual. firefly333's response was completely anodyne and basic. By the way, there is no Memorial Day "Sale." The prices for everything have remained unchanged across cruises. It is a meaningless marketing gimmick, so at the least you are not missing out on anything. Hopefully you get the help you seek, which seems to be rather more than you deserve.
  3. I literally do not know how I could have been clearer that I was referring to $10k per person. Since using that phrase several times explicitly was apparently not enough, do you have any recommendations I can implement to make it clearer in the future?
  4. I meant $10k (and $600) per person. If you are reaching that at WDW, let me know--maybe that is the only way to skip lines lol.
  5. Go ahead and quote those posts. My post--and my comments--were directed at the users in this thread. Read the OP one more time. Then read my initial response, which expressly said that it is an individual decisions. Guess who didn't? The OP. I could be wrong, but my anecdotal experience on this forum is that the presumptuousness and closed-mindedness are almost exclusively in one direction: against getting the packages. If you have proverbial receipts to the contrary, feel free to present. My case starts with this very thread
  6. Sounds good. And if you ever want to dive into the all-inclusive space, send me a message--plenty of recommendations. And no concerns about feeling entitled. Not sure how your WDW/suite experiences cost, but until you are spending $600+ per person for a meal or $10,000+ per person for a week on vacation, we are not even dealing with particularly extravagant expenses lol.
  7. I mean, you just described my family's experience with all-inclusive hotels. You can get similar service at any number of five-star hotels worldwide as well, in addition to any itineraries planned through a travel agent. Each can do as they please and what they enjoy, but the advice of "be thankful for literally anything as long as you are on a cruise" is not particularly useful to anyone who cares about where they spend their money and has any standards whatsoever.
  8. I love spicy food, especially with margaritas, pina coladas, etc. I am hoping I do not have to go a full week without spiciness! Are there any dishes in WJ/MDR that are known for being spicy? Or other restaurants on board? I have pretty high spice tolerance--ghost peppers, habaneros, etc. Sriracha would be mild-medium, for reference. If not, can we pack hot sauce?
  9. The last part of my comment was not responding to you specifically; it was invoking statements made by numerous users over the course of not only this thread but others on the same topic.
  10. Right, but there are vacations other than cruising. I never understood why people restrict the "universe" of choices to cruising or staying at home. What level of service on a cruise, for example, would make you choose an all-inclusive over a cruise for your next vacation? If none, then the advice/mindset you have is really only applicable to people who would never do any vacation other than a cruise. I cannot imagine that is most (or even many) people.
  11. I am not so sure. I imagine that at least some people have experience with all-inclusives. Most of them have waited service in all outdoor areas. A lot of patrons order about a drink an hour for most of the day and are completely fine. Add in meals, coffee, etc., the package would more than pay for itself after half a day, let alone a whole day. I am not so sure why people on this forum are so small-minded sometimes. Unless you have actual statistical evidence about how people think and make decisions about X, it is really fallacious to make definitive claims about how others behave. You personally don't drink OJ at home, or you cannot imagine yourself having more than three cocktails a day? Good for you; go have a cookie about it. But that really has no bearing on what the thousands of other cruisers do or how they decide to vacation. I know it is shocking, but people have *gasp* different preferences and priorities.
  12. Sure, and if those many people are all drinking 10+ drinks, Royal may not be maximizing profits at a lower cost.
  13. Is it, though? What does "overpriced" even mean? That is not a rhetorical question. Say that X% of DBP purchasers will save money on the package. What X would be the tipping point between under- and overpriced?
  14. I mean, this is basically asking people to just calculate how many drinks they would have otherwise. For a couple, 7 drinks each a day at $13 with 18% gratuity would be around $1500, not including drinks on top of the 7, coffee, juice, etc.
  15. I have, but I was wondering about quicker food. I am not sure how long MDR takes for breakfast/dinner, but I probably would not want to spend from than 15-20 mins from beginning of meal to end for breakfast/lunch if dinner takes more than 30 mins.
  16. Sorry to hear that. I really do not like sour cream/crema agria or queso blanco, so I guess not much lost there. Shame about the salsa, which I usually prefer to pico de gallo since I like the smooth/blended texture over the chunkier pico one. I now have to try it out of curiosity, but I will not bank on that being a full meal!
  17. For my August sailing, prices for the DBP have been bouncing (rather slowly) between $73 and $78. Refreshment: $23 and $30.
  18. Thanks! What was disappointing about El Loco Fresh to you?
  19. No, I didn't. I assume you are literate, so I assume that you noticed that there was only a single bullet point under the MDR--the one I quoted. Assuming the same basic amount of literacy, I am sure you also recognized that the rest of the page said nothing about requiring long pants in the MDR or anywhere else.
  20. I linked to RCI's website. Here is the link again. The only requirement is here: Main Dining Room/Specialty Dining Venues Bare feet are not allowed at any time in any venue and tank tops are not permitted in the Main Dining Room or Specialty Dining venues for dinner. The website says absolutely nothing about shorts not being allowed in the MDR. Nor does it say anything more than particular types of attire are "suggested." Read the link instead of bizarrely accusing me of spreading "false facts" that are nothing more than quotations from RCI's website.
  21. Except there is no such rule. RCI nowhere states that you cannot wear shorts to the MDR.
  22. If it were a rule, then they would be turned away from the MDR. And there is no such rule.
  23. It looks like WJ always has some lighter/healthier options. By that, I mean things that are not heavy on bread, frying, cheese, butter, potatoes, grease, etc. I do not typically eat a lot, so knowing where else I can pick up some quick, lighter food would be great. I am trying to avoid heartburn, and I generally like lighter food anyway (like Mediterranean food, sashimi/maki/nigiri, etc.). My sense is that maybe Solarium Bistro and El Loco Fresh probably have decent options during the day? Any other places for breakfast and lunch? Thanks!
