  1. As soon as you board, (1) book any entertainment you want through the app; (2) book any specialty dining you want at any specialty restaurant (they can all book for each other, so just pick the nearest one and book everything there).
  2. I think that's a great way to view cruises/excursions. It's also why cruising will never be the only form of travel for a lot of people.
  3. In Seattle? As someone who has lived there, I can say that taking in the city requires more than 8 hours. But perhaps by "meaningful" you mean "surface-level."
  4. I meant more that you can better experience destinations by going to them on a dedicated vacation rather than a cruise. Someone has not meaningfully experienced, say, Rome by going there for 8 hours.
  5. I'm not sure that spending part of a day in a new city/area allows for that much meaningful experience.
  6. lakelorain's responsibility was entirely discharged when she notified the staff through the channels that RCI itself provided of her allergies. At that point, it's RCI's responsibility, and your attempt to blame the passenger in this situation is as off-target as it is bizarre.
  7. The tomato water was so delicious I ordered an entire extra order for myself. Others in my party were freaked out by it lol.
  8. I enjoyed it a lot. Would go back. That and 150 CP were my favorite restaurants in terms of food. i would be curious about why it was a one-and-done for so many when most of the restaurants’ menus do not change.
  9. I would say that it becomes a topic for public comment as soon as people complain about food quantity being limited on a public forum.
  10. You repeatedly used the terms "limitations" and "acceptable" with reference to Royal's dress codes/policies. I was simply clarifying that Royal doesn't even purport to have any dress code at all, only dress suggestions. There is nothing to "enforce" because there is no rule. That's my point.
  11. All of that goes to convenience, not quality. The food can be horrible but still otherwise be convenient. And at least personally, there is no way I would be happy paying for a restaurant to make me a PB&J sandwich. Unless it is something like this lol: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/travel/eating-out/this-chicago-restaurant-is-offering-worlds-most-expensive-peanut-butter-and-jelly-sandwich/articleshow/77963375.cms
  12. Royal characterizes all dress codes as mere suggestions. From the dress code website page: But here are a few types of suggested attire you’ll see, grouped by item
  13. I am not sure what you mean. Our Airbnb was a full apartment, in-unit washer/dryer, full kitchen, AC, with included wine and two separate bedrooms. It was within walking distance of everything downtown. It cost around USD 100 per night, total. Parisian Airbnbs will be slightly more expensive but not anywhere near USD 400 per night, total, unless you choose to go that high. We ate out all our meals and had multiple courses for lunch and dinner every night, including wine. Breakfast was exactly what most locals ate. I am not sure why a croissant or pain au chocolate or brioche or buttered baguette is somehow inadequate; it's literally the standard breakfast my family and all my friends' families had when I grew up there. I was never a rough-it person; your suggestion otherwise is bizarre. Maybe you are not very good at research and just fall into tourist traps?
  14. Thanks for proving my point…? I too can spend indefinite amounts of money when “I don’t look for cheap.” Jade Mountain on St. Lucia is $25,000 for two for a week. Or I could get the Atlantis Bridge Suite for $150,000 for two for a week. What are we even doing here?
  15. I indirectly paid around $30 (through the 3-night dining package) and thought it was worth it, even for lunch. My friend and I got appetizers and one of every pasta. They were all very good; our favorites were the pomodoro and Bolognese (although the white-sauce pastas were good too, just heavier). I would not hesitate to go again.
  16. Cancun is very safe; it was literally built for tourists. That is why the Zona Hotelera exists. You can charter a private car from the airport to any resort for a reasonable fee.
  17. Pretty much everywhere--London, Paris, Rome, Naples, Florence, Athens, Nafpoli, Lisbon, Coimbre, Porto, Madrid, etc. To pick Portugal as an example, for a 10-day trip, lodging was less than EUR 1000 (most expensive was full apartment in Lisbon, 100/night), walking tours/museums were 0-20 per day, food was 20-40 per day (almost nothing for breakfast given how cheap pastries are), etc. One lunch was 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 glasses of wine for EUR 40 total. The most expensive day trip was around 100 (tour of the Douro Valley). Maybe you are not used to traveling in Europe?
  18. FWIW you just described a standard healthy serving of rice and protein.
  19. I can book an all-inclusive vacation at a luxury resort in Cancun for less than that for 11 nights, and all alcohol, activities, and infinite steak and lobster are included. Or, if I prefer to visit destinations, I can book an 11-night vacation in pretty much any country for way less than that for 2 people. We would need to add in airfare for all of those three vacations. I am not sure what value I am getting out of the $2800 cruise compared to either of those two options.
  20. It’s also the most counterproductive solution I can think of. You would still be cruising RCI so it has no incentive to change (butts in seats and all that), BUT all the workers are pissed off, which only makes the cruise more unpleasant.
