We were on the same cruise! And also caught Covid and lost several kg! It sure was nasty, we have only just got over it, 6 months later. I also thought it was amazing that excursions needed to be cancelled in person and poor Lesley on the excursions desk had to deal with potentially infectious passengers.
Fairly sure we cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, there being an exemption for Covid. Tour desk couldn’t have been more helpful, in fact Cunard were wonderful throughout. Dealing with the shore offices though can be a difficult ballgame.
all I can suggest is either
Keep bothering them
or
try travel insurance- presumably you made a claim for medical expenses
or
write it off and move on
Hope like us you are recovered now. We were going to book another world cruise but a bit reluctant after being so ill.

I have not been able to find information from the official Sri Lanka immigration website regarding free transit visa. The only available eVisa is over US$200! The website from one of the previous posts does not direct to an application site. Should we just wait until we board the ship in Singapore and let Cunard crew help us or wait until we reach Colombo and process entry visa to go on our shore excursion then?
Yes you can complete this on board.

My wife and I are joining in Singapore following the cancelation of the Dubai-Soton cruise. Noting we are now calling at Colombo we have been getting conflicting advice re-visas for Sri Lanka. Looking at the Sri Lanka Official website, it looks as if we can get transit visas at no cost on arrival at Colombo.
Has there been any more definitive information onboard?
Transit visa can be organised online before boarding, or the crew will assist you via your smart phone once onboard.

We loved our voyage through Suez and the Red Sea a few months back. I hope you get to go. There are a lot of anti pirate measures in place.

Just to be certain, while you were negative, were you allowed to use the bars and restaurants?

Hope you were ok with Covid - what is the procedure and policy on board now?
As I recently enjoyed a bout of Covid on board QE, I assume the procedure is the same on all ships:
After my husband tested positive, I contacted the medical centre. As he had symptoms for 2 days before testing positive he was asked to remain in the cabin for a further 3 days - so 5 days from symptoms. While I tested negative I was free to roam the ship. And the same process applied to me once I tested positive. It’s basically an honour system and no further tests were administered by the medical staff.
Paxlovid anti viral medication plus consultation was US$ 900.
Daily restaurant menus were supplied and food delivered hot and on proper crockery / cutlery. Breakfast via door knob card.
Library books, fresh fruit, fresh linen, anything within reason was delivered. Laundry was free.
Once the medical team advised quarantine was over the room was fumigated and the steward allowed to enter.

Hope all is well now , I just posted a question re entertainment times onboard , looking to book some dining but not sure of the times a show might be on . Usually cruiselines offer 2 times for a production style performance but this is just a 3 nighter so unsure how Cunard operate , ( this being our first Cunard cruise ) ?
8pm and 10pm

Sorry about the Covid episode. Was there a big Covid event onboard? Did you stay in your cabin while recouping or transferred to another? At least you had a balcony for fresh air!
Outside of Covid, did you feel that 34 days on QE was too long? Thanks for posting your review.
Many people had coughs, the medical staff said there was a moderate amount of Covid aboard, but not enough to be described as an outbreak. The requirement is for 5 days cabin quarantine from the date of the first symptoms.
Would have been happy to remain longer if we had been in good health.

Thank you for your great review, I'm sorry to read that you were ill. I hope you're fully recovered now.
Back in humid tropical Queensland and on the mend, thank you @Host Hattie. Regardless it really was a wonderful cruise.

Were Cunard able to give you anti-virals and antibiotics or whatever else you needed? I hope you're recovered now. That sounds very difficult.
Yes to all. As I say, they were wonderful. (Anti viral medication including Dr consultation $900 US FYI.) it’s a risk we take when we travel.

Sad or happy? Both, I should imagine.
Yes. Superb journey. Although we have been pretty sick on this voyage (Covid, flu, bronchitis) so looking forward to getting home for a check up. Cunard have been wonderful of course.

On Cunard day tours from Safaga. - “Hurghada on your own” was not the best. We did manage to get a taxi to a very dirty resort and swim in the Red Sea. Would not recommend.

The beautiful QE has dulled her lights at night as we sail out of the Red Sea.
However the night before last the ship was lit up like a Christmas tree whilst sailing through the most incredible lightening storm sometime after 3am. The lightening was continuous and very close and the ship seemed to list towards starboard. I have never experienced anything like it! I thought it was rocket fire at first on waking although thankfully I’ve also never experienced anything like that either. Next morning the deck staff were sweeping up the sand after the storm. Wow it was amazing.
Now we continue to sail serenely toward our next port in Oman.
I thought the ship was taking in water until my husband pointed out that my glass of water had jumped off the bedside table and landed on my head

@seivwrig Thanks for sharing your timing. Enjoy lunch on board! 🙂
And to everyone else I've bombarded with this trite woe: I've calmed down and have turned the glass from half empty to half full. 🥂 We've never been to Barcelona before and will be staying 2 nights pre-cruise. I've shortlisted more restaurants in the city than we could conquer in a week let alone 2 and a half days so adding one more lunch in Barcelona will be a treat! 🍖🦑🧀🍾🥩🥘
Please share your thoughts on the restaurants! We will be in Barcelona 28 - 30 October

We shared a cab with another couple $50 each from memory. Always someone in the queue going to the airport.
