  1. might be worth looking at a few on the more recent trips https://www.princess.com/cruise-search/details/?voyageCode=G321N . you can click on excursions from there to get an idea. Im going away March next year and can see excursions from 12 months away.
  2. Lol not sure on the boarding group. hubby did it think its part of the checking process? I did speak on the web chat box and someone there says its because on the suggested (not required) wellness check 24hours before we due to arrive we have to declare we have not had covid in 7 days and she thinks thats it. She also said if it stays in blue lane, to queue in blue lane............hmmm when everything has been filled in. ill probably say something when the queue gets split and explain that its got all the info, but its glitched at their end, see what they advise to do at that point. This time last year we was on green lane and we had to be tested back then, so not sure what it could be. I say glitch. @martinitime1 lol hahah it doesnt really matter really, as long as we dont get caught up in big queues. Champagne and canapes do sound nice though 🙂
  3. We have done everything too. Ordered the medalion, also picked the boarding group, put everything in and still blue lane. It was green and its switched to blue. Travelling La to FLL through panama 1st April.
  4. It was the first thing I did when I went to the room. Put the TV on and watched the videos. (first cruise). Then went to the muster station, checking in with the medalion, and proceeded to Crooners for a cocktail.
  5. We had the fillet at the crown grill and its been great. They cooked it as I want it and really enjoyed the meal.
  6. We went in April last year and we joined about 11am and there was no line. Following week when we got off, we had a bit of hanging round to do as our flight was later and didnt want to go straight to the airport. We saw around lunch time the line started to form, but people was getting moved quickly enough. They was very quick to take your luggage from you which was nice, and it seems pretty organised. It was our first time though so dont have anything to compare it to, but it seems pretty quick enough, we got onto the ship within 45 minutes.
  7. its definitely worth seeing if theres any photos of inside staterooms for 4 people. someones posted a picture of inside room for 4 on the ruby on this website if it helps https://www.cruisemummy.co.uk/ruby-princess-cabins/
  8. they have got to be the most perfect poached eggs ive ever seen. when I do them they look like a splat on a piece of toast lol
  9. Thats very interesting 🙂 yes thats true on cruise companies being vague. Perhaps the people going might be able to get on the ship but cant do columbia. Hope the OP reports back on this thread so everyone who is curious or wants to know for the future has an answer if they were accepted.
  10. Breakfast buffet definitely stay away from the muffins and donuts. They wink at me every day I went on the last cruise.
  11. If anyone is going abroad to various countries, I thought it was a given that you had to have 6 months left on your passport, even if your start and end destination is the usa. ill be on the same cruise 1st of April. Hopefully your friends do get on, otherwise its going to be an expensive mistake if they cannot.
  12. We went for the first time last year on the Ruby for our 25th and loved it. Im the same, im not one for slides and waterparks. Loved the entertainment and the food. The princess patter which was delivered was a nice touch, and I did not do everything on the patter, theres so much. We was very content doing bingo, watching a movie, ping pong, or people watching in the piazza. Fave spots was explorers lounge, crooners, and the wheelhouse. 2 weeks on friday we are on our next cruise, this time on the Emerald, Rubys sister ship and the layout is pretty much the same. It will also be a bit warmer, so definitely going to the pool, also try out the Sanctuary, and going to some of the enrichment/history sessions in the theatre. Still not up for the face lift/ pain reliever sessions they put on for the day (im sure they must hav some sort of upsell at the end lol) but Im willing to give Zumba a go and have a couple of sessions in the gym on sea days as I know I will feel guilty with all that food lol.
  13. Sailed Ruby last year, and sailing Emerald in 3 weeks, so will be interesting to see which one I like more with them being sister ships
  14. Going on the emerald in a few weeks time, so I am forewarned thanks to this thread. Will definitely take some soap, maybe a nail scubber and bring own shampoo shower gel products. I know sanitizer doesnt do much for noro, but will take it anyway when on trips.
  15. Yes we have an NHS covid pass which shows all our vaccinations, just so we can prove we are vaccinated. its in paper format and we also have a digital one on the phone. Its for the columbia part of the journey link is here to the voyages https://www.princess.com/protocol/?voyage=enhanced: ''Colombia Protocols This specific booking and/or voyage follows our COVID-19 Colombia Protocols for vaccination and testing requirements. Vaccination Requirements It is highly recommended that all guests be up to date on their vaccination status. Vaccinations, however, are not required. Testing Requirements Vaccinated guests: No testing is required for vaccinated guests. Unvaccinated guests: All unvaccinated guests ages 19 and older are required to take a medically observed COVID-test. Guests may take a Medically observed Antigen test taken within 48 hours or PCR test taken within 72 hours of embarkation'
  16. Im on the Emerald in about 3 weeks time. Did the Ruby the sister ship last year and thought it was great. Not overly a big ship which is what I like and the MDRs were pretty decent and crown grill. Will be interesting to see if theres any comparrison between the two sisters, especially now the emerald will be a more fuller ship than Rubys April 2022 visit.
  17. Was on the Ruby last year, and loved it. Didnt use the spa services, but the room, the crown grill, medalion services, entertainment was great 🙂
  18. Sorry also meant to add we have been on the Ruby princess last year, and loved what they had to offer.
  19. I have two girls 17 and 21. When it comes to family holidays, for us, we like things like entertainment game shows, quizzes, bingo, mini golf and the pool. We have not been together on one yet, but we plan to. On the ship it will be ideal for us all, but sightseeing I think will be more tricky with the youngest not so bothered about the history side of things so we would have to have a good think about the trips side of things, or if they plan to do their own thing.,
  20. We can’t wait 😀 we are green lane and have paper /digital version of our covid passes. Staying the night at long beach the night before and booked check in at 1.30-2.00pm.
  21. I suppose I can only compare from when I went to Hull to Zebruggre in Belgium 30 years ago with my then boyfriend (whos now husband of 25 yrs) and that was an inside cabin with bunk beds lol . I will say this though, comparing to some of the hotels on dry land, the bed wow, I have the best night sleep on Princess having been on the Ruby last year. And the crown grill was one of the best steaks I've ever tasted.
  22. Hi saw your post and I was wondering where do you get the bottles of water from for the excursions ?
  23. Just read the entire thread and it sounds amazing. im doing the LAX to FLL 1st of April. Im a little bit confused on the testing side of things. Coming from the UK I know we dont have to be tested to go into the USA any more (were fully vaxxed), but for cruise ships a while ago we read the LA rules were we still needed to be tested to go on the princess ships. So its been a little confusing. The website keeps saying the cruise health portal will be updated nearer the time when we put our details in, but its getting close lol. Did any of you needed to do a covid test to board at LA at all?
