  1. Both are the same price. I looked at photos and E101-E110, L103, L104, M101-M104 (all listed as DW) seem to have great views where you are not obstructed due to lifeboats or equipment. I think they are only listed as obstructed due to having metal balconies I take it? If you book a category BF balcony, I know you can be upgraded but can you also end up with an obstructed view?
  2. Yeah I was going to put it on hold but putting it on hold wasn't an option. I have on hold the one right before it that's an OV for $315.86 but no Sitka. I've done all the usual stops being from AK cruises except for that one, Icy and Haines (which you can do from Skagway).
  3. I'm in my room a lot. I'm not very social tbh. You see an OV on the 7/5 sailing? I don't see that at all.
  4. I got a good rate on the Splendor for 6/28 from an offer in my account and put it on hold. I really want the cruise that leaves the following week as it includes Sitka however the oceanview rate is a bit too much in price for me and I know I would lose my mind with no window (interior was priced well). Have any of you been able to get a very low rate for the following week while you are actually on the ship booking with customer service (or whoever you would do it with)? I'm low status (only been on 1 CC).
  5. You know where you can get fresh carrot juice and a green juice? I cannot seem to find it online. Also if so would this be included in the Plus Beverage Package: Plus Beverage Package with service charge: Enjoy everything from sodas, specialty coffees and teas, cocktails, beer and wine up to $12 USD each. Is there an additional fee for orange juice that's not the disgusting crap that's not actual juice? I was about to book with Carnival due to a ridiculously low rate but everything was very nickle and dime that for a little more money, I can get better food on Princess. Lastly did Princess stop doing the premier coffee and soda package?
  6. This is unrelated to what I asked but do kids typically (in real life...not on a cruise) drink punch with breakfast? I'd think it was more of a lunch/dinner thing but I could have been raised wrong lol.
  7. There's self serve fruit punch at the buffet though. I had it at least on the 3 day Mexican trip I took with CC. Is it really just a convenience thing than for guests so that they wouldn't need to go to the buffet?
  8. I understand but there are no additional fees to anyone for the juice you already mentioned.
  9. C pap is not considered to be a personal item or your carry on (recently learned this). I'm a high maintenance woman and avoid as much as possible having to pay to check luggage in. With a normal size rolling carry on and a mid size backpack (not a small as a school backpack but not huge and can still fit under a seat although barely), I can get a week and a half worth of clothing out of it not having to do laundry (even in the sink). Your jacket/coat isn't considered as a part of your carry on. Wear it on the plane and take it off. What takes up the most space for me are shoes. I've stopped packing heels since I never end up wearing them. It's just boring black loafer type shoes, sneakers, a pair of flip flops (takes up very little space), and a pair of "fancy" sandals or wedges which can be dressed up or down. Toiletries and makeup used to be difficult for me as well but I just condense it. Pick solid color clothing (black, white, navy, grey etc) where you can mix and match. Make sure they are made of materials where you can breathe and won't pick up odors 7 day cruise (for me wardrobe including what I'm wearing on the day of and when leaving): 1 jacket 2 bathing suits (I do use the pool and hot tub) 3 bras (2 normal ones and 1 sports bra) 3 pjs 8 pairs underwear 8 pairs socks (peds take up very little space) 1 leggings for gym 1 top for gym 3 dresses 3 pants 2 shorts 5 tops 1 hoody 2 sweaters 1 purse That said, I'm not someone who buys souvenirs or anything when I travel so I don't have to worry about having room when returning. I don't think I smell either. Worst case scenario you pay to do laundry which is likely to be cheaper than checking in luggage anyway. You can do sink laundry in a pinch but I find it takes too long for clothing to dry aside from undergarments and some tops.
  10. I read the description of it: DETAILS Enjoy ice-cold refreshments during meals, during shows, during, well... anytime you want with Bottomless Bubbles. This unlimited soda program lets you indulge in all-you-can-drink soda and juice for the full length of your cruise. Sweet! Bottomless Bubbles is available for purchase at the Lobby, Casino and Pool Bars. Restrictions apply. Restrictions: Non-transferable and may not be shared. Guests or family members who would like to enjoy soft drinks through this program must purchase their own sticker. One beverage serving, per sticker, will be served at a time. Soft drink is served by the glass (16 ounces); juice is served by the glass (10 ounces). Cannot be used through room service or the Interactive TV system, where applicable, or the minibar, where applicable. Program is only applicable for onboard purchases. I have the occasional soda but it's really the juices I'm wondering about. What exactly are the 10 ounce juices they are referring to that would be included in the package? On the Splendor they have "Juice and Java" which sells 10 ounce fresh pressed juices and blends for $5 for 10 ounces. Is this the included juice? I'm very confused since they already have terrible (no offence) from concentrate juices available for no additional charge for anyone in the buffet and I think in the MDR. If it's not from Juice and Java, what juices are a part of the package that would have had a surcharge if paid a la carte? Initially I thought for sure Juice and Java juices would have been included given the 10 ounce thing (I shouldn't have assumed) but the package is roughly $9.50 a day so I doubt it would be from there given that you break even by just having 2 juices from there.
  11. Anyone know what page on this thread has "fun times"? I cannot seem to find them and it would be useful. Thanks in advance
  12. Being by where there are smokers however I'll take the chance.
  13. This is just a standard balcony...not delux, or Balcony Obstructed, Deluxe Balcony Obstructed room. They cannot give you a balcony room with an obstruction unless it I paid for the guaranteed balcony obstructed correct? I have no preference for where the cabin would be or the size, but I just want to be certain I somehow won't get an obstructed view.
  14. My regret is that I didn't book the one leaving the next week which has a better itinerary lmao
  15. I just booked the 7 night cruise of Seattle. It was just a cheap interior cabin for myself and the total price was under $300. I just dummy booked and the same cruise in the same category is double (essentially it looks like I didn't get the loner surcharge). I only went on a Carnival cruise once years ago so no status.
  16. Been eyeing the studio cabin with the "free at sea" package for a 7 day cruise on the Bliss out of Seattle that leaves tomorrow for a month now. Price has not changed. It's $1,150 before taxes and fees but ends up being $1,582 however I keep getting an error message so maybe they are changing the price. While I love the itinerary since it includes sitka and Icy, ports that I've never been to, compared to Princess where I can get a balcony, gratuity included, a drink package, and better food at less than that it doesn't seem like a good deal. I would need it to be a lot les s to give up having natural light again (did an inside cabin before and unless a huge savings, I won't do it).
  17. LOL yeah I was wondering realistically where they would do the repairs. I'm leaning now to Discovery, I just wanted Icy since I have never been there.
  18. Definitely no ziplining! I've done 2 AK cruises (oddly enough I don't like going on them except to AK....just find it relaxing and beautiful). I really just wanted different stops. I would have loved to have gone on the NCL Bliss because it has to me a great itinerary with sitka and Icy but it was way too much money for me. Part of me is also just excited to finally be able to pay for a balcony (I was too cheap to pay for it on the 2 I went on and regret going cheap) and eat and drink good food since the rates on Princess right now is affordable.
  19. Yep that's what I thought too. It almost to me seemed like they will cancel the July 2 cruise using that time to fix the engine but that they are waiting to the last minute to tell the people on that sailing. I too was thinking how and when and where would they actually repair the ship.
  20. I hoping to book the cruise that leaves on June 25 (or July 16) as on the Princess website they list Icy back up and not Ketchikan (I have been there before and could pass on returning). I chatted with Princess a week ago to see if they anticipate getting rid of Icy due to the mechanical problems they are having and the person said that they didn't know. I know ports can and do get changed due to things however I'd rather not pay in advance if they honestly anticipate already canceling Icy replacing it with Ketchikan. If that's the case I'd rather go with Discovery (on June 26, July 3, or July 17) which does go to Ketchikan but is cheaper overall for me. I deliberately wanted Crown due it going to Icy and not Ketchikan. Also it appears the July 2 sailing is not available. Was it sold out or canceled? Just wondering if anyone has the scoop.
  21. I've only gone on cruises within less a month of booking (don't know if that's last minute). I'm cheap and travel solo so I'm watching the price of the cabin (don't really need any of the "freebies"). It's been hit or miss with me, however I've never seen the prices go up in price for last minute from when I had initially looked. Like someone mentioned, you have to take into consideration airfare going up in price if you will be flying in.
