  1. We are 7 miles outside the 50 on our Heathrow transfer and they have charged us £3.87 going and £6,34 coming back, not sure why there is a differential, but does seem rather petty to charge such a small amount anyway
  2. That's what we are taking. Have phoned them and they don't have information as to drop off point so will just have to wait until we board. Might try the train back to ship for the experience
  3. I was thinking about that but you have to get from cruise terminal to a station and then I think you need to change onto a different high speed train to get to Kyoto. But may relook at that thanks
  4. We are off in 4 weeks on our cruise around Japan and our first stop is Osaka where we are getting the transfer to Kyoto. However there are no details as to time and drop off point. We have booked our own tour guide so need to tell them what time and where. Is there anyway we can find this out before we board the ship. Thanks
  5. We are in the Uk and booked with TA and we had to pay 5 months in advance on final payment
  6. sorry saw that you did reply to this earlier in this topic
  7. We are doing the Muse Japan cruise in April 2024 and starting in Tokyo so would appreciate details of your guide as would love to do the food tour as well. Thanks
  8. Any must do or see on our destination stops. Also have 2 nights pre cruise in Tokyo and were thinking of getting the bullet train to somewhere for the experience ?
  9. Oh dear not what I wanted to hear. We are doing our own flights and transfers and having a couple of days pre cruise in Tokyo so hopefully will mitigate the bad transfer bit etc. Must admit our cruise sounds quite good as takes in a lot of the places we quite wanted to see including Kyoto. okyo, Japan 10/04 - At Sea 11/04 08:00 - 23:00 Osaka, Japan 12/04 - At Sea 13/04 08:00 - 18:00 Hiroshima, Japan 14/04 09:00 - 18:00 Fukuoka 15/04 09:00 - 18:00 Busan, South Korea 16/04 08:00 - 19:00 Nagasaki 17/04 08:00 - 17:00 Kagoshima 18/04 - At Sea 19/04 07:00 - Tokyo, Japan
  10. obviously a very disappointing end to your trip, but more importantly how was the cruise? We are doing 9 days Tokyo to tokyo next April so would value your insight into your Japan cruise
  11. If you are a UK resident its all on your NHS app no need for paper
  12. Hi I am looking at Silver Moon departing 9th April so what would be land side odd or even. Also from comments above, I always thought mid ship was best for less rock and roll? Thanks
  13. How many restaurants on Muse would be speciality that you would need to pay for please?
  14. Just found out its on British tv ITV and USA Fox Sports so unless they have those channels it won't be happening
  15. Hi We are due to board Ovation this coming Saturday and some may know there is quite an important football game that my husband and our friends will want to see and I've a feeling that it will be only American sports channels available and now they are out of the World Cup ......... Our other option which may be the safest is to watch it in a bar in Barbados and then board?
  16. Looking at their itinerary, can’t see that there would be a decent enough 10-14 day cruise all around Japan that Silversea and Regent offer
  17. Been wanting to do a Japan cruise for a while and my preferred line would be Seabourn however not in itinerary for 2023 so don’t hold out much hope for 2024 . Next best option would be Silversea I suppose
  18. Thanks everyone, looks like it’s Carambola St Kitts for caviar and lobster 👏👍 We are off on 10th December
  19. Hi Does anyone know if Seabourn still do the beach barbecue as well as caviar in the surf as neither are showing on the itinerary? Thanks
  20. Would be great to here from soon to cruise what the Scenic/Emerald play is with the current low water. Doesn't look like they are offering to have the trip cancelled. Coach and hotel trip is not what people have paid for or want. Transfer to another ship further up or down river depending where you are coming from would be best option after cancellation option?
  21. In their T & C's they have to right to most options that have been discussed here before I would like to know with current low water what the play is at the moment. Cancellation, most probably not. Transfer to another boat on other side of low water Best option Coach and hotels for rest of trip one they have used before but not what anyone would want or paid for! Would be great to here from someone on the Danube at present with Scenic
  22. Are scenic still doing the coach and hotel option or are they positioning ships either side of Passau and moving you from one to the other. Also if the former is the case and you don’t want a coach holiday when you booked a cruise is there the option for cancellation and reimbursement?
  23. We are in the same situation, trying to get through by phone is impossible and they don’t answer emails!!!! And yes unfortunately it seems to be usual but has got worse in recent times. They have obviously cut back on staff through covid and not replaced. Fortunately we do know that once you get on board the service is excellent
