  1. It happens.even on X. I was on them several years ago, cannot remember which ship. Guy in white space suit goes by with sprayer/cannister. I asked bedbugs? Yes was the honest answer. Saw a whole building tented near me on Biscayne Bay.I worry most about my bags piled 6 deep at airports.

Tenting houses is very common in FL, but not for bedbugs ;)

  2. Hate to tell you, you're the one that is mistaken. The turbines aren't used in regular operation, they consume too much fuel. You do know that Wikipedia is not an accurate source of information, right?

    Right from wiki:

In 2007, she was refitted with the addition of a diesel engine as a fuel-saving measure.[3] The ship can run on any combination of the gas turbines or diesel.

If it's cheaper to run on diesel... what do you think they use?

  3. Worst road rash I have ever seen was on a young bride on one of our Bermuda cruises. The couple was at the table next to us for the week. One day they weren't at dinner (no surprise for newlyweds!), unfortunately, the next night, they were back and she was wearing shorts and a tank top. Probably the only thing she could comfortably wear, her arm, shoulder, and leg were completely raw from a scooter fall.

  4. That being said, on our last couple of Blu cruises there was a "secret" menu in Blu which consisted of a few MDR items (not actually shown on the Blu menu) that were available for the asking. As I recall these were Shrimp Cocktail, French Onion Soup, Escargot, and Cheesecakehat particular evening).

Those are not secret. They are the everyday left side menu items. Caesar salad, and steak are a couple more choices available, as well.

  5. On the flip side of the coin, those passengers that pay top dollar keep prices really low for those that are at the lower levels. What would you rather have, higher overall prices, or a system where the few subsidize many (and get privileges for their investment)?

  6. Especially on the Sunset Bar, where Nenad and Milos made the best drinks, told the best stories, and made us feel like the gang at Cheers. A spectacular bar and staff, that was a huge part of my wonderful trip.

These guys were top notch a few weeks ago. Nenad was fast, and made perfect drinks ever time. I spent more time at that bar than on any previous cruise. They were great, and I said as much in my online survey.

  7. Sorry for the double post, my browser crashed and I redid the post.

Anyways, I was surprised they way they handled the promos. However... I had a lot of fun, and I made much more cash than if I had just cashed out my OBC like I did on a previous couple of cruises. My wife was struggling to hold all the real chips I kept passing back to her. As players know, when you are doing well on BJ, hit a few hands in a row with a couple of double downs, and are increasing your bet units with wins... good things can happen ;)
  8. Was on the Connie in March. My promo chips were not replaced with real on winning bets. This was confirmed as policy by both roulette and blackjack dealers when specifically asked.

Went in on the last night to claim as much OBC as I had left. Took promo chips. Went to roulette. Half on black, half on red, ten on green. Won on red. Was paid winnings in real chips, put those aside. Took remaining promo chips (the original amount bet on red) to blackjack. Went on a good streak, kept removing winnings (real chips) and kept betting promos. Again, promos were not replaced. Bet 20 promos, win, 20 promo stays, paid 20 real. Make sense?
  9. My promo chips were not replaced when I won bets on the Constellation in March. This was at roulette and blackjack. I specifically asked both dealers about it, and they only paid winnings in real chips. I kept racking the real chips, and betting only promos. For example, bet $20 promo on BJ, won, kept $20 promo and was paid $20 real. Make sense?
