  1. You do you and I'll do me. Been using home tap water for my CPAP unit for about 20 years and also on about 35 cruises on six different cruise lines. You get a little build up in the water chamber and you just clean it. Every 6 months my insurance sends me a brand new chamber as well as brand new heated tubing. Had a discussion with my sleep apnea doctor regarding possible build up within the machine and was told it's not a problem and using distilled water is only a recommendation and not mandatory.
  2. The water from the bathroom will suffice for a week. It is better than your tap water at home.
  3. Food is so subjective. How you can choose the lunch cakes over grand Marnier souffle, bitter n blanc or creme brulee is beyond me. But like I said...
  4. Over 12...check Vaccinated...check Now able to cruise on Prima on 10/31 without testing beforehand...check 👍
  5. You can have the plates that my DH and I never order as our Platinum perks.
  6. Where the grass is greener can be debated and of course long time CC readers know your loyalties are squarely in the Carnival Corporation. Spending more than you do on Carnival to broaden your options with their entry level competitors is always an option. And it goes without saying about spending more on an upgraded line such as Princess if you stay within the Corporation or Celebrity if you wish to have a more adult vacation.
  7. Yes, but once again. One choice daily, cheesecake, apple pie, bitter & blanc, tiramisu, grand marnier souffle, and creme brulee off the top of my head.
  8. Not patting myself on the back at all, so I have no idea where you inferred that from. Fully aware of whom Carnival caters to and also fully aware that there have been many small changes over the past 10 years or so that has downgraded the Carnival experience in many ways. Luckily there have been positive changes such as the implementation of the Havana area on the Vista Class and the raising of the bar attempting to keep up with their competitors with the Excel Class. The individual cruiser can decide with their wallet as to which line gives them the most value. Some will keep all of their eggs in one basket while others will choose to spread their vacation dollars amongst different cruise lines since variety is truly the spice of life.
  9. No, born outside of Philly in NJ and my DH was born in Philly. Thought the cakes were better when we first had them back in 2018 on the Horizon and the taste had gone down when I tried them again during our multiple cruises on the MG this year. The gelato though was pretty good. But of course food is always subjective.
  10. It's cutbacks if something is taken away and not replaced by something comparable. Similar to the change with the downgrade of the steak/eggs from filet to strip loin.
  11. On the Vista Class and Excel Class ships it is now ordered on paper and brought to you in a sit down format, unlike the older smaller ships in the fleet that may still have it as a stand at station in the buffet area.
  12. There was a sugar free pineapple dish we had on the MG that was outstanding.
  13. One is sugar free, one is warm chocolate melting cake, one changes daily and then there are ice cream choices or the cheese plate. Just spent 14 days on the Mardi Gras, so if your July cruise on the Glory had four different dessert choices that changed every day, why would the newest ship in the fleet only have one?
  14. One choice that changes daily. There is a sugar free option and the always available ice cream and WCMC. All of their competitors offer multiple options that change daily and also multiple options that are steady each day. You're the kind of cruiser that the bean counters wants. You really don't realize what has been taken away and if you don't cruise on other lines you don't know about other options out there.
  15. I've had the cakes on the Horizon in 2018 & 2019 and the Mardi Gras in 2022. They look great, but most of them don't taste too good. The gelato is much better.
  16. No need to put a time when omelettes are served or when Mongolian Wok used to be served, it's already implied. And at 1230 am on the MG, the pizza line was about 30 deep.
  17. Sorry to burst your bubble but the brunch is only served in the morning, ending at 1159 and since you're not a morning person.....
  18. It's a joke and a disgrace that Carnival only offers 1 choice at dinner at the MDR for dessert that rotates on a nighty basis. RCI, NCL, & MSC all offer multiple choices that rotate daily. As has been mentioned previously, death by a thousand cuts.
  19. Never....I have always been able to get my made to order omelette done immediately by the cook that has patiently been waiting for me. And during lunch there was never a line back in the day at Mongolian Wok. And the hat trick was concluded about 12:30 am when I was in the mood for pizza 🍕. I just walked up and got served. Or was I just dreaming about this no line scenario at three busy times of the day?
