  1. And the missed breakfast is achieved by enjoying it on day 8 embarkation morning. 😉
  2. We all know you're set in your ways and that 60 per day is staying in your 👜.
  3. The closest would be on a west bound transatlantic. You pick up an hour a day multiple times giving you a longer cruise than it's corresponding east bound TA.
  4. No, you're leaving the ship on the morning of day 8. You can start drinking on day one as soon as you get on before noon if you can. Embarkation morning is usually good for an espresso, not bloody Marys, but I'm sure some do indulge in them on the last morning.
  5. Seems like a YMMV situation. We were on the B2B from May 27 to June 10. Had 540 reservations for the first 13 nights in the Symphony dining room with the same waiter and table each night. Service wise, he was the best we have had in 50+ cruises. Food wise, only had one thing sent back over 13 nights and the onion soup we ordered on two occasions could have been hotter. Each week when the lamb chops were offered, my DH loved them. The first week he was told by our server that only two chops were on the plate and they came out a perfect juicy rare. He also had a slice of rare beef Wellington. He enjoyed the chops so much he had four of them sans Wellington during week two. We had zero complaints about the MDR, Alfredo's, International Cafe and the noodle bar. The burger bar was disappointing and we really thought the buffet was a major disappointment. But as usual, food is subjective and can vary.
  6. Just a small correction. The Plus package only includes the juice bar if you paid 60.00 per day for the Plus package. If you paid the original 40, like we did or the short lived increase to 50, the juice bar is NOT included.
  7. Even though he was raised Catholic, this confirms that Saint Greg was never an altar boy.
  8. I was wrong. Thought it was the live thread pioneer. 😉
  9. That's all they had on the Majestic. No Coors Light or other light beers at all. My DH did a few Irish Car Bombs over the last two nights, said it was the first time he's done them in over 30 years.
  10. No. It originally came out at 40 per day, had about 6 months or so at 50 per day and is now 60 per day and the premier is 80 a day. At 60 per day, you first factor out the 16 per day for gratuities. So now it's 44 for WiFi and drinks. Even if you drink two alcoholic drinks per day, after factoring in the 18% tip and waters, sodas, coffees and WiFi, you come out ahead. But if you don't care about the peripheral stuff and only have the occasional drink, then pass on it. But, it's the best value compared to all of their competition since the drinks package alone is 60+ on Celebrity, Royal, NCL, and Carnival.
  11. Could not agree more. After 50+ cruises, the embarkation process was an absolute joke with the mixing in of HAL passengers. Luckily we got there early around 10 and we were on board just after 11. Lunch at the Allegro dining room on day 1 and 8 were nice, with the tenderloin and the grand Marnier souffle. Of course we went back for lunch on our sea days of 2 and 14 as well. The only hassle of course is getting there via deck 7 and dropping down to 6. Today getting off the ship was the worst. Silver 1 tickets were called at 825, yet the bags were not all on display to be picked up. Blue 2 and blue 6 were all lined up though. Then after getting our bags, there were a total of two porters available. By the time we got to the airport via van cab it was 1000. We were told it would be 38, when the cabbie added extras for excessive bags and our scooter, making it 55. The cheapest tip amount was 15%, so we were kicking ourselves for not using Uber XL or Lyft XL. Then the salt in the open wound was the sky cab robbery at YVR. Mandatory $5.00 CAD per bag. Never again. We will fly non stop into Seattle if we ever embark from Seattle or Vancouver again.
  12. Another live thread poster not to be named is lucky to be up by 930 or 1000. 😉
  13. Currently coming home from 14 days in Alaska and we didn't see them. And Alaska is just a wee bit north of Halifax.
  14. And of course the bikini clad girls stuffing ping pong balls into their attire and of course those that chose to go to the upper funnel deck to "check out Cuba", in hopes of seeing one of the European cruisers or spa employees on break "sunning the girls".
  15. You're correct about Johnny Rockets. They do have Starbucks though.
  16. If you like the NCL Encore, you would enjoy the Excel Class ships of Carnival. Did the Horizon twice in the Havana area and enjoyed it, but the corresponding area on the Venezia is different. The newer class ships on every line is an upgrade versus older ships so you really need to compare an apple to an apple whenever you can. The Prima Class of NCL is great just like the Edge Class of Celebrity. If you are looking for a real nice future cruise, the Sphere Class of Princess (Sun & Star) will be only 5 K tons smaller than the Excel Class of Carnival, yet hold 2000 less passengers.
  17. IB....inside Handicapped cabin
  18. The Sun as well as it's sister ship the Star are both Sphere Class ships. They will be about 175 K tons and are built on the same platform as the Excel Class ship of Carnival (Mardi Gras, Celebration, Jubilee) as well as other Carnival Corporation ships from Costa and Aida. The Sun will be premiering next February in Europe and will be in the states in October of 2024 starting with a 5 day sailing and then continuing with 7/14 day sailings through March of 2025. The Star debuts in August of 2025 in Europe and will start in the states in November of 2025.
  19. On Princess, OBC is on board credit. Can't spend it until you get on board, unlike Celebrity. That's why I prefer to get a discount from my TA instead of OBC.
  20. Glad to hear. Have a few thousand at home right now, but currently have three different 14 day cruises booked, so need about another 10 K in cards bought to cover things. Bought 10 FCD's on our current cruise (1000), used 6 of them so have another 4 to redeem once the Caribbean sailings on the Star open up in 6+ months.
  21. Got a 5 year deal for $45.00. With free gift as well.
  22. We get spoiled on the MG and the Celebration with all of their comedy including two 1130 pm shows in the big theater. Hope it's that way on the Venezia for our 10 days next May, otherwise we adjust.
