Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Virginia has a law about this, similar to the EU's GDPR. California and a few other states have passed their own variants. I'm assuming the OP lives in a state that has not.
  2. I always take one first thing in the morning, and drink plenty of plain water throughout the day. If I could match Megan's pace of drinking maybe I'd have another midday to be safe 🤣 (to be clear I'm no lightweight but I'm also no Megan)
  3. I came here to see if anyone else was experiencing something similar - I wanted to book teppanyaki for my 4/7/24 Celebration cruise and it's not showing as a bookable experience! Not even that it's sold out, it just isn't on the page at all. Very confused
  4. Thanks for the tip on where to get them! Doing this same itinerary on the Celebration in April. Stoked for my first time on Excel class!
  5. Ocean Plaza bar is my favorite on Vista Class! Because they have the coffee machine, they can also make real espresso martinis if you like those. I usually end up making bartender friends there and at Alchemy.
  6. Refund update, for anyone who's still looking for theirs: I finally got my refund put back to my CC on 11/30. (I was on the 12/2 cancelled sailing.)
  7. They said they would only reimburse if the tickets were wholly nonrefundable - as in, the airline wouldn't allow you to convert it to credit to be used at a later date, which almost all of them do in the post-COVID world.
  8. I'm also waiting for my fare to be refunded (already got the excursions refunded) and getting antsy. I booked myself at a fancy resort for next week instead - more expensive per night than I would stay at if this wasn't supposed to be a salvage vacation attempt - and I need that refund to land before the charges do, ideally.
  9. Excited for another live review from you! Glad to see some more people who do these live reviews branching out to try Princess - my family wants to do an Alaska cruise in 2025 and they've got the best itinerary so far for what we all want to do, but I heard some pretty bad things about their food and service on CC from right when cruising restarted. Seems to me like things have righted themselves now and I'd be more than happy to sail them, especially to Alaska. (I'm totally not jealous that you're cruising now and I have to wait till April now because I was booked on one of the Panorama sailings that just got canceled... Nope, not jealous at all....)
  10. Feeling very stupid right now that I booked the 12/2 sailing instead of the 12/9 (was deciding between those two weeks when I booked) and now my vacation is canceled and I have to scramble to make new plans for the week. But I'm just a single person, feel bad for the families with kids who were affected.
  11. I did a brunch cooking class on the Panorama a year ago. It was fun, but if you already like to cook you're probably not going to learn too much. Was a cool experience for my vacation and then we got to eat everything, which was great! And took home the recipes (I've started making French toast that way and it's soooooo good). The cake decorating class does sound a little meh, though. Maybe look at one of the other options?
  12. I'm booked on the Panorama leaving 12/2. It'll be my third time on this itinerary and I'd only booked Carnival excursions, so if this happened on my sailing, I'd be a little sad but would still have a great vacation. I'd probably take the OBC and the refunded excursion money and get a massage or something (though I think they're wildly overpriced compared to land spas). But I have unlimited PTO and didn't pay a fortune for the trip. Even still, I will admit, I'm a little on edge at the possibility of a changed itinerary for my sailing. I like sea days, but if the whole ship is forced to stay onboard then things are going to be a lot more crowded than when it's just you choosing to stay on, which impacts the experience.
  13. The notifications thing happened to me the last time I was on the Panorama (after it had gotten Starlink) so that might be a system-wide thing. I couldn't, however, send or receive any iMessages, though I'd had hopes of doing so.
  14. That's probably a great time to go. When I did this itinerary in September, the heat and humidity in the ports was a bit of a mood-killer. My January trip was better IMO - it probably won't be shorts weather on the first or last day, but I was pleasantly surprised that on the first sea day it was warm enough to lay out on Serenity!
