Is the original vaccination card needed?  Can a photo of it on your phone be sufficient?  Or should one print out the immunization record from their physician's office or medical records?

I’m sure a photo would not be acceptable

  2.  There was a pretty detailed thread here on Crown and Anchor benefits and changes. After reading it, my interpretation is that they’re only permitting suite passengers in the suite lounge, to reduce crowds in that lounge. To compensate D+ and P’s for this change— and also to reduce crowds in the Diamond lounge, your seapass card is loaded with drink coupons that can be used at any time during the day and at any lounge or other venues, not just happy hour. The higher your status, the more drink coupons.

  3. Just checking what I think I understand about this process…

Since they are doing test cruises on Oasis out of NJ, this means there won’t  be a 100% vaccinated passenger cruise requirement?
I also also they aren’t doing test cruises for Alaska cruises from Seattle since there is a 100% requirement for vaccinated cruises there.  Trying to understand and be clear on all this…
I’m just trying to make sure I understand what is happening on Oasis. Not trying to start a political discussion.

LOL   They've been allowing cruise bookings for the entire 15+ months that cruising has been suspended in the U.S.   Knowing full well they'd be cancelled and teased people with "lift and shifts" and FCCs.   The cruise lines have also been notoriously slow to refund customers after their sailings were cancelled.

I’m living proof of this, Unfortunately. At least my October cruise is the only one we’ve booked.

    HONESTLY  lol

If the ANTHEM departs Jersey at 4PM by 4PM the next day it will have been heading South for 24 hours.

Where will it be after 24 hours at 25 mph = 600 miles

Well over 20 years leaving from ports near and far and we have seen warm sunny days at Christmas and Blizzards in April. Seas as smooth as a pool table in the Winter and 30 foot seas with 50 mph winds and deck shaking thunder in the Summer.

No way of telling, however in any case we would rather spend our time ON a ship than IN any airports or hotels.

I totally agree. Winter weather in the NE runs the gamut. I remember sitting on the deck wearing a sweatshirt and drinking spiked hot chocolate in an insulated mug on the morning after our sail away. I loved it!

  6. We have cruised many, many times in the winter out of Bayonne on Anthem and on Explorer before, when she was there, and also out of NYC on Norwegian. We have driven to the port in snow a few times. No problem.  And we have never had a bad cruise. A sail away in the snow is beautiful!
Anthem is built for winter. It’s a fabulous ship. No one ever seems to talk about rain when you’re cruising, which can definitely limit your outdoor activities. But on Anthem it’s not an issue because the ship has so many great indoor spaces.

I have zero interest in the hassles of flying to Florida to cruise. I’m just hoping Bayonne opens up soon since we have a cruise booked in October!

Sailed on Anthem...loved the CL (what they called it then)...didn't like 270 venue at all for Park Cafe dining. It needs to have it's own eating area....this was a big mistake to expect people to eat in there.

A couple of high top tables wasn't enough so people sat everywhere. JMHO...I love Park Cafe on Oasis class ships....great set up.

We have sailed on Anthem quite a few times. Love the ship! We have grabbed a quick breakfast or snack in 270. It’s a great place in the evening. We always go see Spectras Cabaret!  There are lots of fun activities. The pools are geared to cooler weather which is when we sail. The food is great. We go to Windjammer often, but this venue will change now I’m sure. We usually have dinner in Coastal Kitchen and it’s beautiful.
I can’t think of anything we don’t enjoy on this beautiful ship.

Confused as I think the CL, or suite Lounge, on Anthem is lovely and a good size.  We're D+ and try to book a cabin near it.  My dh thinks it's an extension to our cabin!  A nice place to hang out on a chilly afternoon with a cup of hot cocoa. Beautiful floor to ceiling windows. Very comfortable place.

I agree that it’s a beautiful lounge. Unfortunately it was crowded when we were on Anthem. We are lowly Diamonds, almost +. But we booked a suite, and when we went to Happy Hour, we often weren’t able to find seats because there is no over flow like the Diamond lounge. We were told there were a lot of Pinnacles onboard.
We don’t spend a lot of time in the lounge. We go before dinner for a couple of drinks.
We are booked in a suite in October on Oasis. Hopefully we will have a better experience this time.

  9. We loved the Grand suite on Anthem. We have sailed in a Jr Suite too, but there are huge differences in the cabins. The J1 Junior Suite has an amazing, huge balcony and a nicer bathroom. The Spa Jr is not that great. Very similar to a balcony except for the split bathroom which was not much of a perk really.
The Grand Suite is a very roomy cabin and I stay up later than my husband, so it was a great cabin so that he could sleep and I could read.
I’m  not elaborating on the perks because it’s easy to research the differences. Full suites are extremely nice.

Well worth it to book the Grand Suite. You’ll be hooked.

Been saying this for years. Suite lounge should be just for suite guests.

This is exactly what happened to us when we sailed in a suite on Anthem — several times too. We just went to the Diamond Lounge, but it was annoying. The Suite lounge isn’t that large and the Diamond Lounge has an overflow area, so there were always seats there.
I think the Suite Lounge should be for Suite passengers.  Especially now that vouchers are available all day.

There is absolute no reason (Covid related) to remove them.

It would always amaze me to see the huge pile of paper that had been delivered to our cabin during a cruise. Possibly, RC is being more environmentally conscious and it utilizing technology in a good way. I would totally support that. Every little bit helps.

I'm booked for Oasis in September and after the last round of cancellations pushing all the way up to Aug 29, I'm skeptical they'll bring the Oasis up the entire east coast for just 2 months worth of sailings.  It's also a bad omen that they cancelled the entirety of the Freedom of the Seas cruises out of Bayonne already too.

I completely agree. If any more cruises are canceled for Oasis, I think the odds will be very bad for any cruises at all this fall. And I wonder what the next step will be. Will this ship just stay in Florida? I’m not to happy to L&S again, even though we got a great price last year. I am losing interest in playing this game...
