  1. Does anyone have a contact to the finance department at Princess, we went on a cruise 3 months ago and are still waiting on a refund from cancelled excursions. When we call the regular CS number they acknowledge we are owed a refund and send email requests to the finance department but cannot connect us there. Is this normal, and should we just wait it out, or keep contacting them?
  2. Princess probably has to throttle more than other cruise lines because 60+% of the ship has internet access. There is no way they can supply 80 mbps with even with starlink with that many people on the service. 8-9 mbps down should be adequate for anything other than streaming high res video.
  3. There are never any real “sales”…all they do is switch around promotions to make it seem like there is a sale. Prices only truly drop when a cruise is not selling as fast as they would like.
  4. I would recommend getting a pair of waterproof hiking sneakers and wearing those on the flight. That way you don't have to pack sneakers. Its not cold enough in the summer to need Uggs, and they also don't have the best grip if you are hiking, walking on a glacier etc.
  5. If he didn’t want to follow the advice of the ships medical crew he never should have gone to the sick bay. There are limited diagnostic capabilities on a ship -ie no CT scanners to look for abscesses.
  6. Another in the long line of incidents that highlights the sloppy maritime culture of Carnival Corporation. This is why I usually sail with RCL or NCL, their maritime operation is based in Scandinavian countries where vessel maintenence and solid seamanship come above everything else. We are sailing Princess once and Carnival once this season because the schedules worked out better, but it will probably avoid the lines in the future.
  7. The MDR "included" lobster tail is probably Caribbean lobster, and the upsell one is likely Canadian considering that they did not specify "Maine lobster tail".
  8. They must have a bunch of clueless people working on the ships. How would it be possible for you to have the unlimited deserts without the drink package. I don't work for Princess, and know that it is not possible.
  9. Thanks for the post...looks like you had a great time and the ship and food was very good. We are going to be on the Sapphire in July and are glad to see this. One question. Do you know where on the ship the premium deserts and the fresh juices are?
  10. Jeans should be fine in the MDR. I would go full Canadian tuxedo for formal nights.
  11. Not really, it is just such a silly thing to contact the CEO of a corporation about.
  12. Don't you have anything better to do than to harass Princess executives for a link to a survey?
  13. Does anyone have any opinions of the fresh juices in the new packages. If they are good it may be worth upgrading the new premier for the $5 a day upcharge.
  14. Makes sense that they should be able to make that...A calzone is just a pizza folded over and sealed off.
  15. The keurig can’t pull a shot of espresso so you are drinking something completely different. You can order a latte on the ship without syrup ot less pumps than they normally use. A good latte, with nice medium roast beans (ie. Not the burnt stuff that Starbucks has convinced Americans is good coffee) doesn’t even need any sweetener because the sweetness from the steamed milk is Enough ton sweeten the drink without overpowering the taste of the espresso.
  16. How exactly does a Keurig make a latte? Any latte served in the international cafe will be miles better than what the Keurig will put out.
  17. Why are there piles of salt and pepper next to the steak...shouldn't they put that on the steak before cooking it?
  18. All I can say is that the Keurig marketing team deserves every penny they earn.
  19. The "rules" say no. However, If you are wearing a nice pair of resort casual shorts in the dining room you will probably be ok. If you try to wear athletic shorts you will probably be turned away. Someone will jump down my throat for suggesting this, however there are plenty of shorts out there that are lot nicer looking than some of the "smart casual" pants people wear.
  20. Lavazza is one of the largest coffee processors in the world, it is very likely that they make some sort of coffee concentrate for food service use. IMHO, Lavazza espresso beans are quite good, but Illy is much better if you are drinking the shot. In milk drinks both are very good, much better than Starbucks which is the gauge for most people at this point. Unfortunately, I don't see them going to Illy as the beans are 2x the cost of Lavazza.
  21. You are probably right. The high quality Lavazza stuff will be reserved for paid drinks, and Lavazza will make a "special blend" for Princess to use elsewhere on the ship.
  22. I honestly don't see them using relatively expensive coffee in the buffets/MDR. Most likely this will be a paid option in the specialty coffee shops.
  23. I think the best bet is just to stick with the filet mignon for now as it is usually decent even in select grade. They are probably using lower grades of beef than in the past since prices shot up in 2020-2022. Prices are on the way back down so hopefully they will switch back to better grades at some point.
  24. Alaska is a great place for many to see the beautiful scenery. Another great place is the Norwegian Fjords. A lot of people don't want to travel to places where there is constant civil unrest and risk of getting robbed or kidnapped.
  25. Im not so sure of that anymore. With the majority of guests on board having the plus packages, Princess may prefer that non drinkers take up the seats in Vines.
