  1. I have reached out to Ponant, but so far have not had a reply.
  2. At least you have the option, I will have to be back at work on the Monday, so we will need to get off the ship early on the Saturday morning and if that's not possible we will have to cancel.
  3. We also have an early morning flight around 8.30 am to Paris. I hope that won't be a problem. On 2 previous occasions we left the Paul Gauguin the night before to catch the flight just before midnight. If catching this flight isn't possible we will have to cancel the cruise. That would be a great shame.
  4. We are interested in a Grenadines cruise on Royal Clipper next year. Due to the nature of my job we would not be able to arrive until the day the cruise starts, at around 2 pm. I understand embarkation starts at 4 pm but can anyone enlighten me please by when embarkation finishes? I believe the sips sails around 10pm.
  5. Does anyone know what time the last tender goes back to the ship from the motu on the second day in Bora Bora (7 day cruise)? Also can you get a tender to the motu from Vaitape or only from the ship? Ideally we'd like to combine a morning in Vaitape with an afternoon on the motu.
  6. I can't understand why they are not more accommodating, considering the ship does not depart until really late at night. I hope it's still ok to leave the ship early on the last day. Our return flight is around 8 am on the Saturday we get back to Tahiti.
  7. They used to pick you up anywhere to rent a car. We previously met them at the airport. Bearing in mind the lack of public transport it would make economic sense, even if they charged for the pick up. As someone else indicated, it discourages you from making the choice to rent a car, and choose another activity instead.
  8. So if you want to rent a car they won't bring it to the cruise ship (tender) dock anymore? I don't mind pre-booking, but getting to the ferry terminal to pick it up could be quite a challenge.
  9. We aim to be on the first tender and rent a car in Moorea. We have previously rented cars in Moorea from Avis near the ferry terminal. Am I correct in thinking that they will bring the car to where we get off the cruise ship? Is there free parking there? Is it realistic for us to be on the road by 9 am?
  10. Hope by next summer it will be back to normal. I just love this kind of cultural enrichment.
  11. But no more Tahitian ladies coming on board to do flower garlands? Do the dance troops still come on board in Huahine?
  12. Thanks. I believe they don't confirm until about a week before, which is a bit annoying. Were you able to use their pool?
  13. In that case we must stop all interaction with locals on shore excursions as well! It's not possible to completely avoid contact with the unvaccinated.
  14. Could anyone update us on this? Wondering whether it's l'Occitane (a decent brand) or whether I should bring my own shampoo and conditioner? I know if I do my husband will complain that I bring too much stuff.🤣
  15. I heard that the day at the Thalasso only starts at noon?! Is this correct? We would like to go there first thing i.e. on the first tender. Would that be doable?
  16. We are going to stay at the Tahiti Intercontinental too and are about to book it in the next couple of days! What room type would you recommend? Have you had dinner at Le Lotus before? I We're thinking of eating there on our 30th wedding anniversary. We're also going to spend a few nights in Fakarava. It was one of our favourite stops on our last Paul Gauguin cruise nearly 11 years ago.
  17. I would love to hear from people who have done this excursion. What time did you get there? Were you allowed to use their pool? Would you recommend it?
  18. Hi Linda, we're going on the 7-day cruise on 26th August. I was going to ask you the same question!😄
  19. How did you go about booking the vow renewal? Who did you contact and how long before your cruise?
  20. Is Polynesian night (on the 7-day cruise) still on the Thursday evening?
  21. I don't have the answers to your questions. However, be aware that should you wish to eat at Coco Beach restaurant you might have to wait for 1-2 hours to be served your food. That was certainly our experience in 2018 and we only ordered snacks. It is a beautiful motu though.
