  1. @StLouisCruisersAltar Do Chao is a most difficult tender port! Sounds similar to the set up Veendam had in 2017 when the river was flooding there. I think we bought two cold bottled beers when we needed a refreshing break and that was all. All in the adventure of the Amazon.
  2. I was on the Rotterdam's Africa cruise the same year as Roy did this segment of the world cruise. I think a world cruise has an "upgraded menu" over even a long regular cruise like ours was. Agreed, today's menus are not as extensive as 10 years ago.
  3. NA backing into the 'runway' to takeoff. Sun being blocked by a cloud so camera looks much better.
  4. I'm not sure I like Beyond's horn. It sounds too much like get out of my way, or as you say grumble.
  5. Beyond should be tooting/tootling along soon. NA next? I missed them yesterday.
  6. Could you post a picture of Ryan, your cruise director? We had an on location/port lecturer on the Zaandam, Ryan, from Buenos Aires back to San Diego in 2016 who was excellent.
  7. Did you attend the new Holland America presentation onboard about the drink? I thought it was very well done with the history of Bacardi. Spirits of the Caribbean.
  8. Looks like rain has moved into the port. Maybe a delay? Meanwhile, look up Sisters, Sisters, there were never such devoted sisters for your listening enjoyment.
  9. Good screen shot. Can you see the list to port? We were on the NA this week last year for Thanksgiving. It was our first cruise back since the pause for covid.
  10. Big difference from yesterdays sunny and warm sailaway. it is suppose to be back to nice tomorrow. Looks like the NA is leaving now.
  11. Welcome back to Florida Roy. Probably not your best voyage, but hope it was enjoyable. Weather is always a variable. Your ship certainly had the pedal to the metal, or at least full speed ahead! Holland America needs to change those high speed runs to more economical runs rather than cut services, IMHO.
  12. I was invited last month aboard the Nieuw Statendam. Captain Noel O'Driscoll told us that it had just been reinstated. Last winter, when i wasn't invited, the cruise director told me you had to have over 1000 days, which was just a way to keep the gathering very small!
  13. Oosterdam in Miami. A rare port call and embark port for a Holland America ship.
